Just wondering if anyone has ever read the book or seen the film? I'm pretty sure some of the american idiot story was influnced by it seen as the character was named 'jesus of suburbia'.
'Karim Amir, bored with his suburban lifestyle in England, is propelled into the fast lane and introduced to disparate cultures, classes and genders thanks to a disorienting chain of events sparked by his father, a self-proclaimed guru.'

Woah...That's either one FREAKY coincidence, or...it's what happened. xd I'm guessing the latter.
I might go read that. Probably won't, but...I'll keep it in mind if I'm ever searching for something to read!

i've never read it or seen it but i had heard of it but i didnt really associate the idea of JOS with Buddha of suburbia until i recently and considering 'Buddha of suburbia' is a 'coming of age' story about someone who goes to the city and kinda gets involved with the punk movement in the seventies, i think billie joe must have read it and been influenced by it to create JOS as a sort of christian version.
