 Name--- Polonius
Sobriquet--- Polo
Gender--- Male
Appearance--- Polo is a very handsome baby (and child and teen...). His chocolate-brown hair complements his creamy peach skin, and his bright blue eyes can look turquoise in the right light. He is of a lean build, somewhat lithe and agile, so that all his movements have a graceful feel to them. As a baby, he is somewhat chubbier, in a cute and healthy-baby sort of way. The one bane of his existence is also the only thing that mars his appearance: his eyeglasses. He detests his glasses, and thinks they hide his big, bold eyes behind their chunky, round frames and thick glass lenses. He is often forced to wear them by Bre, but takes them off whenever he can, despite the fact that he is nearly blind without the spectacles.
Clothing--- Polo is dressed by Bre (as a baby, later dresses himself of course!) in a tailored suit designed to follow the fashions of the classic gentlemen of Old Hollywood. He wears a navy suit, tailored to fit him well, complemented by a crisp white shirt underneath, and a folded handkerchief in the breast pocket patterned in gold and maroon swirls. His shoes are leather dress shoes, neither outstandingly shabby nor exceptionally fantastic, but rather simple dress shoes to maintain the tone of his entire outfit. The only thing that seems to be somewhat out of place is the item that gives Polo some security in himself, and which Bre has no idea of: a golden key dangling off his wrist, not extraordinary in any way. Personality--- Polonius is a very interesting character--he is an expert impressionist. Even as a young child, Polo can transform his entire demeanor (and look, when possible) into a variety of characters, from a Shakespearean actor, to a frenzied science professor, to a cocky professional athlete. His 'default' personality mirrors those of his idols': He takes on the suave debonair of Cary Grant, the intelligence of Gregory Peck, and the perfect gentlemanly air of Clark Gable. For this reason, he prefers to be around females, because he feels more comfortable in an atmosphere where he can take on his favorite personality. When around large groups or strangers, however, Polonius is uncomfortable and draws into himself, protecting himself by putting on layers of other personalities--a Chinese food vendor, or an obnoxious critic, for example. He becomes even more uncomfortable in his own skin when forced to wear his glasses, the enemy of his self-confidence. With his glasses on, Polonius is made to abandon his gentlemanly demeanor and confront himself, something he doesn't like doing and avoids as much as possible. For this reason, he is unsure of himself and almost shaky when he is made to wear his glasses, and he wears them as little as possible, even at the risk of endangering himself because of poor vision.
Painting---Polo's painting is a true representation of his self. The rich, deep colors showcase his inner quiet and calm because they are not bold, but show the depth of his character because of the velvety texture of them. The key in the picture, a warm gold, is the true spotlight of the painting, and shows just how important Polo's own key is to him. It could also be a metaphorical riddle...find the key to the painting and thereby understand the key to unlocking Polo's actual self?
