Okay... I am going to assume most of you people know what American Idol is! Well, hopefully you do, because I don't really know... BUT THAT'S OKAY! I know that it's an amateur karaoke contest.
How about a submission of voice recordings anonymously by number or nickname and have the crew judge the best voices? www.putfile.com is a great site to store recordings...
But that raises the question... how many people have access to a microphone?
And I think that the recordings should display voices louder than the music, because then we know you're not a cheat.
(If you cheat I'll toss you to my pet hammerheads and killer whales. scream )

Hmmmm... I love the idea, but both of my microphones are broken. And I have no money to actually fix it, and I doubt my mommy and daddy would go out an buy another microphone.
And I don't have the accompanyment to the song I'm learning at the moment. >.> But nonetheless it's a good idea, even if I can't participate in it. <333

I suppose the real problem is the microphone... which is why I thought this was kinda dumb in the first place...
But for those that do have the mics, it might actually sorta fun^^;;; now howmany people have mics that actually want to participate >.>

Perhaps though instead you could do a Ria Idol using methods not unike the casting for actors in the Summer Play? RPers have to portray their characters signing and dancing or what not better than the rest. Like describing their voices and intonations at certain points and how they differed the song to make it more their own personal style. As people are weeded out a panel of judges could choose songs to challenge the RPers to use their characters truthfully and artistically?

Raine is very self concious when it comes to singing alone! I get stage fright a whole bunch..xP However, if I am able to get a microphone then I guess I'll....do it.
However, it does sound like a creatice idea and I'm totally into it. if I can't be in it I'll supposrt it. 3nodding

I sing with a tone that's lower than the dude who sings for Coldplay... or that guy that sings the opening to DN Angel... >.>

I sing both Alto and Soprano 1...
But, I hate singing for people... And when my voice is recorded, I sounded so weird! >.> You wouldn't like my singing even if I did get my mic.

And the first minute is only the person talking. Also, turn up your volume a lot if you want to hear this. >.>

Nice idea... but might I add, you could simply make it a talent show, since there may not be that many vocally gifted students on campus. Still, an American Idol spinoff is a very good idea. ^.^ I'd definitely want to be apart of it.
