Amidst the sawdust and sparkles belonging to the members of Circus Olympia is a rather large trailer. It does not belong to the manager or ringmaster, but rather to the lowly human cannonball. He is not blackmailing the boss, nor is his act so popular with the audience that he was given the extra space, though the visitors do respond well to the ungainly man sailing through the sky. In fact only a third of the reailer belongs to the cannonballer, the rest being home to the two children in his care.
The trailer itself is large- for a trailer, that is. It consists of four rooms, each with only one door that leads to the outside. There are no interconnecting passages between the rooms. One room belongs to the man employed by the circus, and the rooms on either side of his house the girls he is guardian to. The remaining room is supposedly for "storage," and remains locked at all times.
Each room contains a bed, a shelf, a closet, and a few personal effects. There isn't space for anything more than that, and the circus teaches one to pack light, never knowing where the road might lead next...

Personality: Some say that Awk has been shot out of a cannon too many times, and that his brains have been permanently addled. Others say that he was loony beforehand, and that being a cannonball has actually jolted some sanity into his thick head. Either way, Awk is nuts. He's loud, dresses wildly, drinks often, makes only the most basic sense, and makes most people crazy just trying to deal with him. (tbc)
Recent History: Awk was raised in a normal household in East Barton, by two loving parents and one older brother. At the age of 17, all three of them were a bit tired of his antics. It was only another five years later that Awk realized that he wasn't being doted on anymore. No one else was surprised- he was 22, unemployed, and still living with his parents. But Awk was a bit upset, and ran away from home. His parents felt that he'd grown up and let him go his way, upsetting Awk further. He slummed it for a couple weeks, before crashing a circus tent. Once he sobered up he inquired about a job and started working as an assistant video editor, something he had no talent. The manager did, however, notice something about Awk's physique and asked if he'd be interested in being in the show. With nothing to lose, Awk agreed, and "Awk the Hawk" was born.
Since then he's risen to semi-stardom, patched things up with his parents to some extent (though they still barely talk), and lived a pretty normal life for a second-rate circus performer. Which is to say, he's a great cannonball, but not what the people come to see. Nevertheless Awk is content with his life... until the day two girls stumble into it.
