Hey everyone. I'm gonna be taking my old Squire P-Bass and putting in a floating tremolo bridge in it. I was just wondering if anyone might have experience with whammy bars/tremolo bars on basses before?

Yes iv used them quite alot... Umm... Truely I don't think you should put something that expensive on a squire... I would wait untill you get a better brand bass, its just the squire (no matter what model) is a entery level bass, mainly for people on a budget or beginners.
The basses the really suite a Floating bridge are Warwick corvette, Lakland, Dean, and Ibanez (BTB serise)

Thats my view on them blaugh

Oh I know that putting the Hipshot on a better bass would be a better idea. I was debating whether I should put the bridge on my Squire or the Spector. I'm thinking I might go ahead and do it with my Spector. Though I might be directing my funds somewhere else though...

It would also depend on what model for a dean...Not all are that good. My friends had experience with thoes.

Well, sometime in the future I'm going to be having a custom bass made for me from http://www.warmoth.com . You can pretty much have a bass/guitar made for you there.

But I'll probably either just find a bass that already has one on eBay or have a custom one done for me.

I think that Gredika is right. Dont put something expensive on a basic bass. Do you see Forumula 1 tyres on Skodas?
