Rosa Quietus Skylark32 ~*+*~ : : ~*+*~ : : ~*+*~ : : ~*+*~ : : ~*+*~ : : ~*+*~ : : ~*+*~ The Sun and the MoonThe sun may blaze in its blinding glory, a burning fireball of passion, But so is its love-- Indiscriminate consummation, Its victims reduced to lusty ashes: Futile existance. Such is love. Its last day shall leave behind a black sky. Why not the moon, Its gentle aura, hearts yearning for more Looking upon its glow as if it were a dream-- Not a burning, but an enigma. Yet with such faithfulness, Its chaste power tugs the oceanic waves of the heart. A time will come when the sun shall have consumed even itself And what will remain behind will be Every heart's longing. ~*+*~ : : ~*+*~ : : ~*+*~ : : ~*+*~ : : ~*+*~ : : ~*+*~ : : ~*+*~ Beautiful. And very, very meaningful to me. Thanks for sharing with us ^_^ Thanks, Rosa ^_^. No problem.

Skylark32 II This idea came from the AMAZING pamphlet "I Want to Be Your Husband," about staying chaste for your future spouse. If you haven't read it, I totally recommend going to this link. It's a fictional letter from a future husband to his young future wife that truly shows the difference between a crush and life-long love. ~*+*~ : : ~*+*~ : : ~*+*~ : : ~*+*~ : : ~*+*~ : : ~*+*~ : : ~*+*~ The Sun and the MoonThe sun may blaze in its blinding glory, a burning fireball of passion, But so is its love-- Indiscriminate consummation, Its victims reduced to lusty ashes: Futile existance. What awesome imagery and original metaphors for the two types of love (love and lust). I can't get over the picture of the sun burning itself up and the constant moon tugging gently and chastely. 3nodding

Skylark, these poems are beautiful! I simply adore the imagery incased within the confines of your vibrant poems, each centered so marvelously on love. Your talent simply floors me. Thank you immensely for sharing. A wonderful sight for my weary eyes this long night. heart
I cannot pick a favorite for I love them all. Each with its own unique beauty and message. Truly, poetry is nutritious candy for the soul. 3nodding

is it o.k.if Ipost something I wrote? O Christ who veils his glory under forms of bread and wine my humble praise I give thee, O you,my lord divine
And every moment from thee, when away my soul is spent My soul longs to adore you, in the Blessed Sacrament
You are a perfect mystery for though I nottaste, nor touch, nor see, I know yoru presence is here, veiled in great humility
O sacerament of peace, O sacrament of love, I sing my unworthy sinner's praise with all the choirs above
I sing your perfect holiness, I sing your perfect might, with all the saints from age to age present in your sight
your covenant renewed, In this Holy Sacrifice the bread and food of angels, the cup of Eternal Life
In enraptured adoration, the church with one accord, proclaims you saying "Taste and see the goodness of the Lord"
"This is mybody",you have said, and said, and so I do beleive It is your own living flesh you wish me to receive.
'Take and drink.this is my blood whic is poured out for you" you have commanded us to to drink, and so my lord,I do. Behold the lamb of God,who takes our sins away behold the redeemer of all people, whose deathour debt has paid.
The ransom for our souls he has paid with his life by offering to the father, himself as sacrifice.
Solet now the choirs of heaven, and every voice be raised, In honor of this sacrament, In love,in thanks, and praise.

eek You should seriously write hymns. (All we sing is Sweet Sacrement Divine. Not knocking the song, but it's every. Single. Sunday.) I like it - and I'd love to sing it. Although my singing....we'll not discuss that, ok? wink

I agree with Nemithena, Akinito. You really should write hymns. Yours is simply beautiful ~ perfect especially for the song sung during Eucharist. Thanks for sharing. 3nodding

I like how with that one stanza you make it only two lines. It seems to give it special emphasis, just like how we emphasize part of the Creed for Mass by bowing. Was it intentional?

Your poems are beautiful, meaningful and moving. I'm commenting here so this bumps up and others can see.
