Well, for the new guitar I'm planing on buying, I am trying to decide what pickups to get, and I started think about Gibson pickups. I know gibson guitars sound great, but are te pickups worth buying to place into an epiphone or something else humbucker based?

i wouldn't really know, what music do you play? would the pickups suit your playing style?

Rock, with some clasic rock aswell. It needs to sound good on clean and distortion.

gibson could be good for you then, but have a look at some of the others on the market.

i'm no specialist, so i'm not going to reccomend anything. 'cause knowing me, i'l get it wrong. xp

I was thinking that my style would suit gibson pickups, and possibly warrent an actual gibson later in my playing. I had a look a dimarzio and seymour duncan, but I didn't like them that much, and besides, not many people in the guild have gibson pups, let alone installing them into a non gibson. I'll wait and see what some more people say before deciding.

Well, if you want good on distortion and retain your clarity, I would reccomend the Seymour Duncan SH-6 Distortion Humbucker

seymore is a tad better , a gibson works well if its in a good sounding guitar .

the 57 classics have great sound, they're just not as loud. 490s have great distortion but lack a little in the clean

I have an Ibanez guitar, and I bought a Gibson Les Paul pickup from Musician's Friend. I think it has really completed my guitar, the sound is fuller, and overall, it's a great tone that comes from my guitar now. I don't think I would trade my guitar for anything, to me, it's perfect.

The thing I want to do now is get a Seymore-Duncan or Fender jazz pickup for the middle slot on my guitar smile Then it'd be perfect haha
