Anyways I am making a manga where basically an american goes to Japan for his senoir year of college (yes sorta based off of what I want to do as I get older). Anyways any particular facts that I should make sure not to miss in my manga.
Notes in the manga - herem manga ( like "Love Hina") - some action with the yukaza - hoping to somehow make main character a kendo champion at some point of the story. - Lives in North Tokyo with host family( at first was spending time with them so that he would have a place to stay till he finds an apartment, but soon the host couple tells him he can stay there permanantly if he likes)
I won't do much more in particulars of the manga cause I don't want anyone stealing my story idea. But please offer your suggestions and I should have the first drafts of the prologue and chapter one up on the web in two or three weeks( in a month if I can get my uncle to provide a server for my own custom site.).

I hope you know that not all tourists come into contact with the yakuza and not all Japanese kids do kendo. sweatdrop I'm sure you do, but just...don't over otaku-ise it.

The best way to create a manga, is by using knowledge you already have, especially experience.
I would suggest that you try to do a manga on things that you have already been through, you know, to get a hang of manga before doing something like that. And remember, research is your best friend.

I know I should go the easy route and do something I am familier with but this manga is my choice for what I would call an enterance manga. Meaning a fully done manga that will get me noticed. Because the other two main mangas I want to make I would first want some fanbase to read them but also with this manga I can practice my artwork.
and yes I am doing alot of research..
