Introduction:
Welcome to my RP guild thingy. If you're here, it either means that you somehow found out about this guild and asked to join, or I saw you in a forum, and it seemed like you would have been interested in such a guild, so I sent you an invite.
Now that you're here, and you wish to stay here, there are some things that you should know about. This thread will contain any updates or information that you should know about. I, or one of my trusted Crew, will update it. Please be sure to read all updates, for they contain important information.
So that everything isn't in one long, big-a** post, or if I've only updated a certain item, every "catagory" of rules will be in a seperate post. I will even include an update log so that you can clearly see what has been updated and when. 3nodding
This is a place for people to have a good time. If there's a problem, please post it in the appropriate thread, or if the problem is serious enough, contact me or one of my crew.
And yes, the teh's are there on purpose.

Updates Log
This where one can keep track of what was updated and when. If I'm not too lazy, the updates may simply contain a link that will scroll you straight to the update so you don't need to go looking for it.
exclaim - A mod or crew member may post an update as a "reply" to this thread. It will be added in later as soon as I get on and am aware enough to stick it on this list. Please read all updates!
07/08/2007 - I've scrapped the original guild... but, I have left the RP's that were here originally, both for memory, and in case someone wants to continue them. If there is an RP with (IA) in the title, this means that it is inactive, and you really shouldn't post in it.

General Rules
These are basic guideines that people want to follow, regardless if they are the RPer or the DM.
exclaim Note - Items MAY be added on to this list. If so, a note will be available on the Updates Log.
1. Respect and follow the Gaia ToS This is a pretty straight-forward rule. If you don't follow these rules, I'll give you a warning. If you do it AGAIN, I'll temp-ban you (you will be kicked out of the guild, and you can re-apply to join the guild once the set amount of time expires. For example, if you were temp banned for 5 days, at the end of 5 days, I will accept any request to join the guild again. Even if you send it earlier than the 5 days, it will either sit there, or I will deny it). If you do it a third time, you clearly aren't capable of understanding punishment, and you'll get kicked out. Re-applying will just get you refused.
2. Teh People Of Teh Non-English Not everyone speaks English. There are plenty of people that use Gaia Online and their first langauge is not American English. That doesn't mean that they are stupid. If they're really trying, please be patient with them and help them if you're able to. Bitching and harassing someone just because they are not an English speaker is not tolerated and you'll get kicked out of the guild. No ifs, ands, or buts.
3. No thank you, Mr. Salesman Don't advertise anything here, unless it's in your signature. This is a RP forum, not the Chatterbox. Any posts containing such a thing will be removed, and you will warned. If you do it again, you'll be temp banned, and a third time will earn you an exit ticket.
4. Mud slinging is for pigs Don't like someone? That's all right, not everyone loves the world. However, that is no reason to harrass someone, exclude them, or otherwise paint them a bad picture. Play nice.
5. This forum is rated.... huh? Be mature. If someone posts in their RP that they don't want people using 1337, then don't use it. Don't go posting it just to annoy them. If there's a RP that contains topics that you may not like (A gay boys RP, for example) and you don't like it, then just don't look at it. This is a free-for-all guild to RP in the style that YOU like without having to worry about abuse from other Gaians. If someone DOES complain because of something like that, they'll be told off. Again, be mature and civil.
6. Rant, rant, rant. Everyone's got their bad days. Want to rant about something that isn't RP, or maybe you have a question and want to ask it here? That's fine. Just don't post it in the main forum. There will be a sub-forum for such things. Any post made in the main forum that is deemed as non-RP by myself, my crew, or a mod, will simply be moved.
7. Reality Check Remember that this is a ROLEPLAY guild. You might notice someone being nasty to someone else in an RP. Please try to remember that they may be just keeping in character. Not everyone is the nice-hero-type person. They may be evil, an anti-hero, etc. Just because someone's character is a jackass doesn't mean that they are.

RPer's Guidelines These are just simple guidelines that people might want to follow if we want to keep everyone happy. exclaim Note - Items MAY be added onto this list. If so, a note will be available on the Updates Log. 1. Rules are rules. PeriodWhen a DM posts an RP thread with rules, follow them. If the rules state that you cannot GodMod, then don't do it. These ARE legitiment rules. The DM can chose to warn you, or report you directly to someone of authority for breaking them. You will then be asked to either edit the post to match the rules given by the DM, or the post will be deleted. If you are someone who chronically breaks rules set by DM's, you are complained about often, and found to actually be breaking the rules, you'll be warned. If you keep doing it, you'll be given a temp-ban. If you STILL keep doing it, you're out. 2. This RP is boringIf you're in an RP and you decide that you no longer wish to be in it, make a nice exit. Even though you don't have to follow this, it tends to piss people off when you just suddenly disappear from an RP, especially if certain events depend on your character. Make up a nice little exit for your character. For example, they may choose to leave the place where the RP is set to go on a journy, or they may die, etc. That makes it easier for everyone else to keep the story going and doesn't leave any loose ends. This also makes it so that if you decide you want to rejoin the RP (If you think you might want to do that, try not to die, haha), it won't be as awkward. 3. But... but... Mr. DM!! *whine*If you don't like a rule that DM made, then just don't RP in their thread. If you really want to RP in their thread, but there's a rule that bothers you, simply PM the DM to question him/her about the rule. Be polite, and most DM's will probably take your request into consideration. 4. Bish, I dun like you!If you're RPing and somoene you don't like joins the RP, you can't just decide to ignore them. Their posts put input into the RP, and the most you can do is make your character ignore them... that's it. If their character blew something up, you can't pretend it didn't happen and keep RPing as if it didn't. Again, be mature and everyone will be happy. 5. Omg! I can't keep up!Try not to join too many RP's at once. Some, especially those with heavy writing requirments and a fast-paced story line, may be a hand-full. If this happens, have some common sense and take a break from some of your RP's. Try to follow the previous method for "leaving" an RP to help your fellow RPers and keep your DM from getting grey hair. 6. Out-of-character (OOC) vrs. In-character (IC)Try to keep the number of OOC posts low. It's all right to OOC post a question directly about the RP or possibly the story line (for example, clarifying that another character has done something, or of an event has happened), but asking OOC questions that have nothing to do with the RP is usually frowned upon. If you have such a question, simply PM the DM with the questions and they'll get to you. To have the DM and fellow RPers recognize OOC, I personally use a double parenthesis. ((This would be OOC)) A DM may specify another method, or may request that there is no OCC at all (which I do not suggest, because getting PM's everytime someone isn't sure what someone else did can get annoying). In the event that the DM asks for no OOC, you will have to PM him/her with any questions. 7. New Game > Difficulty LevelMake sure you carefully read the requirements that a DM posts in their RP thread. If they're asking for paragraphs in one reasonse and you're used to answering in 2-3 sentences, that RP is probably not for you. Make sure you can meet the demands of the DM and be able to have a good time at the same time. This isn't a homework assignment, it's supposed to be fun.

DM guidelines
These are some general rules that one should keep in mind when creating an RP thread.
exclaim Note - Items MAY be added to this list. If so, a note will be available on the Updates Log.
1. Omg! Teh Rules are eating me! Don't post 4506987405698 billion rules just because you can. If you make your RP too complicated, no one will want to RP in it. Pretty simple.
2. Bish, I REALLY hate you! If someone you don't like joins the RP you made, you CANNOT tell them they can't RP just because you don't like them. Give people a chance. If they do prove to be little pricks and break your rules, THEN you can do something about them.
3. *Mission Impossible Themesong* If you REALLY don't like someone... you can't change your rules just so that you have an excuse to kick them out of your RP. I, myself, will actually look at most RP's that are made. If I noticed that you changed one of your rules just to kick someone out, or give them a hard time, you'll be the one who's repriminded, not them.
4. Patience is a virtue Not everyone is able to respond lightning fast to your RP's. Wait for people, and they'll come. If people aren't RPing in your thread, you may want to check and rules or requirements to make sure you didn't post something totally unreasonable, or something a lot of people may not like.
5. Updates If you plan on possibly changing your rules due to certain circumstances, post a reminder either at the top of the "rules post" or the bottom of the "rules post" so people know to periodically check the rules for any changes or updates. This is not to say that you can add rules as you please for no real reason. If you add a rule, there has to be a reason for it. (For example, you can say that people cannot use 1337 if someone decides to use it, and it annoys you and the other RPer's are unhappy about it).
6. That evil, Nasty Fine Print You cannot hold anyone accountable for breaking a rule that you never put in the first place. If someone's Godmodding and you don't want them to, you can ask them to not do that, then add the rule, but you cannot punish them for the original infraction, unless they do it again AFTER you've added the rule
7. Punishment I know it's easy for someone to get under your skin. I, myself, have a very short temper, but you must always remember to be curtious and polite to someone. Even when you're informing someone that they've broken a rule, don't be mean and nasty to them. That would only provoke them to be mean and nasty back to you, and create a scene that could have been avioded.

RPer / DM Resource
This is where you find stuff to help you, basically. Any niffty site I find that I think may help will be posted here. If I decide to use weird words that I think no one will know, I'll also put what they mean here. Other things may also be added here. 3nodding
~Rosiel-pedia~
These are the weird words that I use in places that I probably shouldn't be using them, or their words that not many people will be familer with because they're slang or something similar.
DM (Dee-Ehm) (n.) - Anyone who is familer with the old Dungeons & Dragons pen-and-pencil game will know that DM stands for Dungeon Master. I use this term with anyone who has made an RP and "controlls" the RP. It's not an official term or anything, but it's what I use in any rules that I post. For example, if I made a thread, I would be the DM of the thread. I would be the one who set the rules and supervised the RP.
~Spelling/Unique Words Resource~
These are sites that would help you spell-check what you write, help you find the meaning of a word that you may not know, or help you find different words that all mean the same thing if you don't want to keep using the same word over and over again.
www.dictionary.com
~Language Resource~
Want to actually make that French character speak a few French words to make him/her sound a little more... French? Or perhaps we have someone foreign in our guild, and they've used a word from their language that you don't understand. You can use these sites to look them up or translate.
exclaim Note - all of the sites posted here would offer a free translation. Keep in mind that grammar is likely to be very incorrect if you use them to make sentences in another langauge. For example, if you put in English "I'll eat your babies", ask it to translate it to French, then put the French back in and ask it to translate it back to English, you'll probably get "Babies eat I" or "Babies I eat", which means that it probably looks that way in French, too.

~Image Hosting~
These are sites that allow you to upload images. Although not all of them require you to make an account, most do.

FAQ of Teh People With Questions
This is a list of questions that are commonly asked by people and are answered here so they're not asked again.
At the moment, the list is empty, because there aren't any questions
Q: What happens if someone doesn't state any requirements/rules?
A: You should look at their first RP post and try to assume that you need to RP like they do. If they write a paragraph in third person, it should be assumed that you need to, as well.
