For socks, stocking, lacey panties and bras, you can use an undergarment bag. You can find them pretty cheap at Wal-Mart in various sizes. Just through the items of the same colour into the bag, add the bag to clothing of the same colour in the washing machine, and wash. To dry, jsut through the bag in the dryer with the rest of that load of wash. This works great any day for all your underclothing, not just loli stuff.

If I can add my two cents, probably one of the most amazing things I ever found was when they came out with cold laundry detergent. It's perfect for dark clothes that need to be washed in cold water since the soap is designed to work just as well in cold water as regular detergent is in hot water. On top of that for less delicate clothing you can throw it all in the wash machine no matter the color, and wash them all together without fading or color mixing since cold water doesn't make clothes lose their dye as much. Although be careful though when doing that. 3nodding

For shoes, I think it's easy enough to just use a damp paper towel if they get dirty.
The best advice I can give, though, is that if you are going to polish your shoes, make sure they are REAL leather. Shoe polish will actually erode any psudo-leather shoe. And do not over polish or polish your shoes too often. Make sure to get ALL of the remainder wiped off.

For getting out tough stains on skirts (like that icky black stain from your boyfriend swinging you around the campfire)....For several days apply carpet cleaner and let soak. Then wash in cold water on the smallest setting for the shortest amount of time. All the stain is gone. biggrin
Of coure....this was on a two-tone skirt and done only on the white part of the skirt. The fabric was also very sturdy and rather thick (I'm not sure what fabric it was as Bodyline tends to not list that D: ).
Actually...the whole process was pro'lly a bad idea but no one would take me to the dry cleaners. D:

I have washed a lot of stuff with dry clean only tags in them in the washing machine, and nothing happened (like my Meta lucky pack blouse for example). The Japanese are just overly cautious and there it is customary to take almost all of your clothes to dry cleaners anyway. It's cheap and convinient there.

How do you wash like jumperskirts and dresses?
I couldn't afford something that was from a specialty loli store, so there isn't a tag that says what to do. sweatdrop I'm just afraid with all the lace and ribbons..@_X

I couldn't afford something that was from a specialty loli store, so there isn't a tag that says what to do. sweatdrop I'm just afraid with all the lace and ribbons..@_X I would hand wash it first. see how durable it is. other than that dry cleaners.

Just speaking from experience right now. I don't have any lolita dresses yet, but I plan on making my own anyway. If you have dresses that are a high percentage of cotton DO NOT wash in hot water! Wash them in cold water! Hot water will shrink the fabric! Also high percentage cotton fabrics should NOT go in a dryer! The fabric will also shrink! Once you wash the dress in cold water, hang up the dress to air dry! I've had my clothes shrink on me and I got mad at my mom because she forgot to hang them up.
