http://starling.rinet.ru/music/queen.htmI feel bad for this guy. sad He must be like, retarded. Seriously, I don't think he knows what the Hell he's talking about, but it's an amusing read all the same. Wanna see something even funnier? Go to the 'Main Index' page and see what he rated other great bands who have come and gone in the last 40-or-so years. Note his wonderful facts: Frederick Bulsara? Um... yeah. wink It's also pretty funny to watch him pull Roger apart, over and over, and over and over, and! Over again. This is just proof that in order to 'know Queen' in order to give an honest review, you really have to know Queen.

If you don't like a certain band, let rip, then turn away and never speak of it again. Don't listen to them, just skip over them. Simple as that.
But to review their albums in a biased manner? Even a non-Queen fan could see that only unintelligent people do that, because they've fed their egos and they simply can't get enough.
And you know what? I've never had a liking towards opera/classical/vaudeville before. Never knew about it, never wanted to touch the stuff. After listening to Queen, I sorta enjoyed it whee Ah, but what does this fellow know? I'm sure if we gave a biased review on King Crimson he'd be quick to jump >w<

He seems to contradict himself a lot...
It also took a bit of patience to get through the introduction alone.
Why did he stop at Hotspace, is what I'm wondering...

I like how he said the Russian's being the best fans or whatever.
I'd say the Japaneese are, if anyone.
He seems like a total a**...
And yes! I was like, "... Where are the albums after Hotspace?"

Uggh, I just hate people like that, really. It's like they don't have anything better to do neutral

Ignorant Imbecile One thing I must warn you about first: please, for Heaven's sake, pay no attention to Freddie Mercury and the others' lyrics. They are atrocious, horrendous, abysmal, some of the worst crap I've ever witnessed. Basically, lyrics are either supposed to mean something or just to sound cool, sometimes both. Well, Freddie and co. always wrote lyrics that did neither. The imagery in their songs is pretentious, senseless, pointless, not to mention that it's badly, oh so badly cliched - at least Jon Anderson of Yes (one of my main anti-heroes, as you probably know) did not rely so heavily on poetic formulas invented long before him, trying out his own word combinations. Freddie just seems like he's taking certain gothic poetry books off the shelf and randomly picking out quotations. Unfortunately, this unbelievably cheap trick also works for the fans - many take that great lyrical put-on for real. Only goes to show you... Anyway, I think I'm going to do the guys a favor: in the following reviews, I am not going to mention the song lyrics at all, except for specially marked cases. Just take my word for it: it's prime crap. If you're not convinced, I might do a philological analysis of some of their stuff some day. What a verbose, arrogant fool! I mean, there is a mystique about the lyrics to most of these songs, but that's just the charm of their music! I didn't know that "'39" was about a space trip until I heard Brian's intro on ROTC! Their songs can be interpreted in a number of ways....sometimes the wrong ways, but still!

Teh Maroon Roger Taylor easily disqualifies himself as a singer on 'Modern Times Rock'n'Roll', a track which is pretty fast for its time but that's about it. Popo, let's pay this gentleman a visit. We should put a ring through his nose...a thick, heavy ring... twisted

And I'd drag the ring and him around through an acidic swamp, then pour salt all over his wounds neutral
Seriously though, lyrics aren't supposed to mean anything, and even if they did, Freddie and others encouraged the fans to interpret the lyrics in their own (the fans') way/meaning.
A lot of people speculate that BoRhap is about Freddie and such. I say it's just a story he wrote up in song-form. He's an artist, he's bound to have SOME OC's around somewhere in the back of his head.
Seven Seas of Rhye makes some nice imagery. And I thought '39 was about someone who hasn't seen his loved one for a while; going on a journey, to come back wiser, but lonely... the notion of "aliens" and "sci-fi" escaped me, as I thought it was back in the days of pirates and voyages, new worlds and... yeah, I'll shut up now xd

Oh. My. Gosh. What an idiot. He contradicts himself all over the place; how can a band be original and follow trends at the same time? How can a band rock harder than Led Zeppelin, and still only get a "C" rating in anybody's book? Besides, I just found it difficult to get past the "Frederick Bulsara" thing. I pretty much stopped reading after that...And if this guy dislikes Queen so much, then why did he write such a lengthy review of them?? With the way he complained about them so much, you'd think he would have barfed all over his keyboard and short circuited the thing. I think this is the only person I've ever run into that doesn't like Queen...even my nearly-80-year-old grandmother likes a few of their songs, like Bohemian Rhapsody, Seaside Rendevous, '39 and Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon. This is coming from a woman that hates rock n' roll.
The person that wrote this article needs to get over himself. Besides, in what world is Genesis better than Queen? Sure, they're good, but better than? Puh-leez.

Ya. He is only writing his musical reviews on the internet for a reason. No bands past "The Early Years" got an "A" rating...He must really like the 60's. I am surprised by a lot of his ratings. Queen shouldn't feel too bad though, Zeppelin got a "C" too. He also gave the Eagles an "E" confused . Apparently he judges on more than music. I think the guy is a little ahead of himself. gonk
