Just saw solid state society today, i got the limited edition DVD naturally. An it was good everything i come to expect form Gits SAC. I especially like the sniper dual. The ending was left opened ended has per mentioned, I'll personally take this as a indirect promise for more episodes or movies in the future hopefully the near future instead of a further future.
I was kind of disappointed in the features disc, anime special features are always lame wonder why that is? I haven't listened to the SSS OST yet.

I belive the reason behind that is that they don't want us to replace the Ghost in the Shell piece of our heart with love for another anime that they advertised. (lol...) sweatdrop

I am unaware if this is the correct place to prompt this question concerning the movie. I have watched the Solid State Society video and was mesmerized. Yet, I was a bit puzzled by the conversation Batou and Motoko had at the end of the movie. Below I shall ask the question just in case this wasn't the appropriate place to bring it up.
--- In the movie, Batou mentions that the man they all thought was the Puppeteer was dead 2 years ago. (before his rise and fall to power) Therefore, who was the actual puppeteer? Could it of been Kuze? (according to the conversation Motoko had with the 'puppeteer' that I believe we the viewers were unable to hear. Or, perhaps, I was too confused and it was only the discussion they had after the man claimed that his mission was complete after linking directly to Motoko.) I would enjoy knowing whom you believe was the real puppeteer. Kuze? Godah? Or perhaps someone else we still have not be exposed to his/her/it's true appearance? ---

Yet, I was a bit puzzled by the conversation Batou and Motoko had at the end of the movie. Below I shall ask the question just in case this wasn't the appropriate place to bring it up.--- In the movie, Batou mentions that the man they all thought was the Puppeteer was dead 2 years ago. I would enjoy knowing whom you believe was the real puppeteer. Kuze? Godah? Or perhaps someone else we still have not be exposed to his/her/it's true appearance?--- ? That's a good question, I think this article from Wikipedia covers that subject, nicely. Highlight, for those of you who have seen the movie. Quote: Solid State Society is the story of Motoko Kusanagi's return to her Section 9 family. At the end of the film the ultimate identity of Kugutsu Mawashi is never solved in the minds of the characters. It is ultimately left up to the viewer to decide who he is.
According to one theory, Kusanagi herself is behind the identity of Kugutsu Mawashi: Once Kusanagi became disillusioned after realizing Hideo Kuze no longer loved her, she left the physical world of Section 9 to "sojourn in the net". While her consciousness inhabits the net, a consequence is that her subconscious acts out her dreams in the physical world. It crystallises the will of the Old-Age Kifu, and the whole conspiracy at the Seishomin Welfare Center develops.
This is substantiated in the film, in the scene where Motoko returns to her apartment. She encounters the remote of the Civil Servant, Takaaki Koshiki in her hallway with surprise. Later. in the scene where she brain-dives Takaaki Koshiki, this remote is shown to be one that belonged to her. In the final dive sequence, it steps out of a rack of remote bodies identical to the one inside Motoko's apartment and walks through the door. By comparing the placements of the bodies in this scene, with the spaces in the rack when Motoko returns to her apartment it is apparent that this remote body is one of those missing, and thus the one she passed with surprise in the earlier scene.

Then again, you can't always trust Wikipedia, it's only user based information. But that's a better answer then I would of ever came up with. -- Oh, so in the end her ultimate enemy was herself? Pretty sneaky... But... that's too bad... =_= Ohhh! I wanted it to be Kuze! D:< --- I so believe in that pairing. Oh well, can't always go the way I want it to...

True, but it does bring up an interesting argument. >:3 ---- Yep, by what that article suggests. Well I hope it'll be covered in the new installment that Production I.G has promised. X3 It might have been, for all we know.
--- X3 I've always been more of a BatouxMotoko person, but Kuze's alright. Yeah, unfortunately.

I think that they just opened it up for either another series, or another movie. I may be wrong though.
