maou-chan i had a science teacher a couple of years ago who, wial we were descusing protons and neutrans, said that alchemy was based of the idea that since a subsance is classifyed by its number of protons that removeing some of them could change the subsance into another (ex: changeing lead to gold because gold had fewer protons). he also said that in theory it could work but the prosses of makeing lead to gold would cost more than it would be worth. By your teachers definition we already complete alchemy then. Every day there are scientist who are ionizing Radium and then letting it degrade into Radon.

Keeperofthegates Satomi Shima I don't mean to be rude or anything but, just where did you read this? A really old book... No cover (twas ripped off) and no cover page (its that old)... It said... "Settle earth of earth, water of earth, fire of sky and air of sky in a steel pot for 9 and 9 score days. Take a child unbeknowest to life and cut its throat, letting the blood fall into the pot. Settle this for 9 and 9 score days. Take this and pour it amongst the lowliest lead and it shall become the purest of gold." Thats like I was saying. But, it's not possible. Perhaps those ingrdiants make a stone but, it couldn't give immortality. At least not with the modern science of today. (and I don't mean machinery and stuff) at least this is my opinon.

Essentially you'd be making glass. Earth of Earth, sand. Water of Earth, to cool it off. Fire of Sky, to heat it up. Air of Sky, to from it. The blood would give it its color, and viola a fake stone.

Wow. That's cool. I wish you could remeber the name of the book though. sad I'd like to read it.

Well, alchemy was supposedly supposed to change "lesser" metals into silver and gold. So, Full Metal (duh!) and the bullet, Full Metal Jacket (also a war movie, and as my friend intelligently puts it) has a reference to the military.

Basicaly alchemy is taking the ingrediants of one thing and changing them around to make another. But that whole child thing with the fake stone sounds cool and kinda possible.
