Has anyone here read this book? I thought it was really great, parts of it actually made me cry! If you read it let me know what you thought of it or if you need more information.

Both my dad and my stepmom have read it. I think I'm next in line for it, once I'm done Dracula. It sounds fabulous though.

I LOVED this book. The beginning was slow, but it was worth it in the end.

It's an amazing book. I didn't cry but I really enjoyed it.

That's the summer reading book for freshmen at my college. I haven't read it though. Too many other school books to read.

I read the book last semester for the lit. course I was taking. Personally, I wasn't that fond of it. I was told last year that the book was "too advanced and controversial" for my class. Seeing the book on the list this year, I was disappointed. Sure there are topics that may not be comfortable for many readers, but by no means was this book too advanced for a class of young adults.

All in all, The Kite Runner was not a bad book, just probably not one that I would read again.

We had to read that in my english class last summer. It's one of the very best books i've ever read. I nearly cried at the middle and the very end.
Sure it was controversial, but considering we also read Kaffir Boy during the school year, it didn't raise a lot of eyebrows.

I guess the school considered we were mature-emotionally and psychologically- for the books on our list last year. The funny thing was that before the summer, every one complained about the book, but by the beginning of the nex year, no one had a bad word to say about the book.

I absolutely LOVE this book. It's one of my favourite books! Khaled Hosseini is a truly gifted and engaging writer. I was really close to tears several times reading this book.
