Satine was walking down the sidewalk, an adapted baby carrier strapped around her shoulders with the ever-steadily growing Renor sitting awkwardly in it, his tail trailing over the side. After Rhine had mentioned the books the other day, and the mysterious appearance of a pile in the bathroom sink, Renor had begged and pleaded to go to the bookstore.
So, here they were. Satine chose to take him to the local used book store, since everything there was cheap. It'd serve well enough, and the two paused outside the window to peer through into the dusty shadows of the store.

Rhine paper in hand, found the sunniest spot, and took a sit. He was fed up wtih everyone just wlaking into his room. He wanted his space. The island held plenty of it, but he wanted more. He wanted something yet to be explored.

Satine was about to enter the store, her hand resting on the cold, browning metal of the bar, when she saw the boy that had been at the appartment before. What was his name? Rhine, wasn't it? She thought idly, turning around to lean around the corner of the window. "Rhine?"
Renor's ears perked up as he heard Satine say Rhine's name, and he stood up in the carrier, resting his front claws on the bases of Satine's horns where they joined her head. "Rhine?" He echoed his guardian, tilting his head to the side as he tried to maintain his precarious balance.

Rhine laid the paper down hearing his name. Standing back up he noticed it was Satin and Renor. Renor was in the oddest of things strapped to Satin. Rhine snorted, and shook his head.
"Hello Renor, and Satin!" Rhine smiled, and waved.
"What are you up to?" Rhine hadn't noticed yet they were in front of a book store.

Renor continued wriggling, so much to the point that Satine finally rolled her eyes and reached back with her arms, heaving the growing dragon over her head. "Fine, but you can't come back in once you start walking, got it?" She asked, raising an eyebrow towards her charge. "And hello, Rhine." Satine said, looking up with a slight grin, her pointed teeth just visible.
Renor waved hello with his tail, and grinned slightly. "I got Satine to take me to a bookstore. That's what we're standing in front of, after all." He said hurriedly, not wanting to sound silly.

Rhine ran a hand through his messy hair, and looked towards their dirrection. Yeah, there was the book store he thought to himself. He'd never realized where he was sitting, just that he had taken a bit. After all his mission was to find a place, not a book...
"I take it then you enjoyed the books I sent you?" Rhine smiled.
Rhine gave an uncertain look. "Satine, is he injured or something that you do his walking for him?" He didn't understand the harness at all.
Rhine turned for a second to grab his paper, using a red pen he circled something before cornering the page. Then lastly he folded the paper and tucked it under his arm.

Renor nodded vigorously. "Yeah, I liked them alot." He smiled cheerfully, his tail coiling around itself as his guardian shook her head.
"Nah, he's fine. He just doesn't get much exercise, so he gets tuckered out more quickly then you might." She said, a crooked grin flashing across her face.

Rhine gave Renor a look, and then looked to Satine. "Then stop pampering him, or he'll never grow up..." He snorted.
Rhine showed Renor the paper. "I myself am looking at the adds to find me a place to live. It is a chance to further learn about human life, and for me to get a job. Not that I need a job. Everything I could ever need is on that island. However, I want more out of life." Rhine sighed softly.
While Rhine was bent down towards Renor showing him the paper he whispered. "I've got some interesting magazines at home I could lend you... Show you what girls really look like. Might interest you enough to make you want to shift." He winked, and stood back up not to draw attention to himself.

Satine glowered at the teenager, sticking her tongue out. "The hell I pamper him." She would have said worse, but she figured it'd be a bad idea to do so in front of Renor, who was blinking curiously at his friend and guardian.
"What's pampering? Isn't that spoiling someone?" He asked, head cocked to the side. His ears twitched slightly at Rhine's mention of magazines and girls, a violet blush creeping up his cheeks. "Wh-what?"

"Just as sheltered as I was..." Rhine sighed. "Just a moment..."
Rhine slipped from site, and went into the book store. He returned with a paper bag, barely a slivers thick. He handed it to Renor.
"From one friend to another seeing as we need to educate you." Rhine gave a half cocked, sly smile. His eyes only a moment away from Renor as he glanced at Satin.
"And, pamper means to baby..." Rhine growled. "Had a great deal done to me when I was younger, and it wasn't something I really cared for later on."

Satine glared after Rhine, not getting a good feeling from the whispered words and the swiftly rising blush of her ward. Double-colored eyes narrowed, Satine watched Rhine suspciously as he went into the bookstore, returning a moment later and handing a bag to Renor. "Rhine, might I ask what's in that bag." She said smoothly, her tone even and controlled, not giving way to the growing irritation with Renor's 'friend.'
The blush was slowly receeding from Renor's nose as his friend disappeared for a moment. As he peered into the new bag upon Rhines return, his face turned a deep, plum purple as he saw the cover of one of the magazines, hurriedly turning so his guardian wouldn't see the blush. She wasn't stupid, she could put two and two together.

Rhine thought a moment he knew he was teetering on a parent confrontation. With a sigh he smirked. "In that bag is no worse than what my own mother did for me... A bit of education we shall call it." He paused. "Or, do you expect him to stay a boy forever?"
Rhine stretched before crossing his arms with a glance in Renor's dirrection. "I myself would love to see my best friend learn to shift. At all cost, I'll be there to see to it that it does happen." He paused. "But, of course, like flowers even dragons and most living things need time to blossom."
Rhine reached his back pocket, and as if magic, when his hands returned to view he held a flower. With a slight bow of the head, eyes still on Satin, he extended the flower to her with a smile. "And, you my lady, blossomed well."

Renor glowered slightly at his friend, the blush creeping up his cheeks again(Certainly seems to be doing alot of that.) though this time it didn't appear to be a blush of embarrassment, more of anger. "I'm not a boy!" He said indignantly, sticking his tongue out. "And I've got a good enough education."
Satine rolled her eyes in exhasperation at the slight attempt at flirtation, but accepted the flower anyways. "Scamp." She said, smirking crookedly before scooping Renor up in her arms. "Well, I'm afraid we must depart then. Good bye, Rhine, Cassara." She said with a nod.
