"True enough," Sashta agreed. But then again, had she ever been in the right mind to begin with? Out of the two alpha, who had really been a bit too far off the rocker?

The one everyone dubbed insane, or the one who willingly followed anyway?

For some reason, she was mildly surprised he'd decided to add in with his own pieces of his life's story. "Six kids," she informed him with a light laugh. "Man, they're something. One's a shaman, even."

The red male laughed in return. "Five," he told her with a smirk. "Though I haven't seen any of them in a long time... I've heard word I even have a few grandkids." His voice was a mixture of something like awe and admirition. "No special abilities that I'm aware of."

Grandkids? Sashta almost cringed. What if she had some little demon ones of her own running around? That was the first signal of just how old you were, grandkids.

"Don't think of that as a bad thing," Sashta grumbled, rolling her one functioning eye at the thought of Ran. "They're not all wise and all-knowing like a loto f the stories say." They could be clueless, idiot runts, too.

"I don't seen mine much anymore either..." Ran and Ahnius out roaming the freelands. Guaf and Volgin stayed in the pack, far as she knew. Audi was with Phib now, and Theo... Well, he was probably dead.

"No," he agreed. "They're not." Thoughts of Isaac surfaced. While he had never shown hostility to Devvyl, and the then-alpha had welcomed him into the pack, he'd always been uncomfortable around the seer. And Elphie, while one of his best friends, had made dire mistakes recently as well.

Being a seer or shaman didn't make you perfect.

"How long have you been in the freelands?" he asked.

"I don't really know," she admitted, snorting in amusement. The days and nights mostly clumped together. She didn't even have a regular sleeping or eating pattern anymore. Just whenever she was hungry, whenever she was tired. Things got surprisingly boring when had no one to lead, or even just with you. "Long enough to remember what it was like before I left it."
