I only looked at the first (I'm tired and drunk) and it looked like explicitly representational analytical cubism

I rather like the painting. It's wonderfully peaceful with the cool color theme. Kind of like a early morning. Very pleasant.

In the first one did you cut out newspaper bits, and then draw onto them? It's very good 3nodding

haha, i probably spent more time tearing up news paper and glueing them on the board then the actual charcoal drawing.
the painting was about dreams. i think i was being quite literal about it.
doug, i'll just pretend i know exactly what you're saying.

hehe I'm not surprised. Have you ever tried making a college out of newspaper...using the different tones as shading? now that's a pain in the a**. I hate collage sweatdrop but you've done a very good job. I like it. I like mixed media 3nodding

i've known people to do that with magzine cutouts, but never news paper. that's interesting. i should try it sometimes. mixed media is fun when you don't have to worry about the end result. haha.

Ignore what I said there. It's nothing like analytical cubism.

Hm. I understand what you mean about that "rawness" in there. It seems like...it really IS a self portrait. even if it doesn't look like you, you seemed to have captured some aspect of yourself in its entirety.
i actually find it very interesting.
