How would you pronounce "Om Mani Padme Hum"?

Well, given what I've just found by poking around a bit, it's Oohm mah-nee paid-me hoong.

At least that's what the loop of a Tibetan guy chanting it I have going right now sounds like. Have a listen, and decide for yourself.

Tibetans sometimes seem to say om mani peme hung as well though, as a variant on that one...

Padme hum is padmay hum.

I'm pretty sure that the Sanskrit pronunciation is "Ohm Mani Pahd-may Hum."

The Tibetan pronuncation is "Ohm Mani Pay-may Hoong."

Speaking about Om Mani Padme hum...This mantra is not only in Tibetan but it is also in Japanese, Chinese, Korean and I think Vietnamese too. But would this mantra still work in other languages other than Tibetan?
