The sun had settled high upon the lands as many lions were out resting in the heat. It had become a slow day, one that irritated many with how the heat pushed down on heavy pelts. However, one creature decided to lay in the warmth, enjoying the feel against her fur as well as settled high enough to catch the wind. Palesa had returned from giving Ta'Ziyan a meal and was waiting for him to bath as she had already done so.
Currently, the sun was drying the dark green color of her light pelt to cause the color to lighten slowly. Soon it would be back to the off white color and she would be up once more to enjoy the day before nightfall. Ever since she had journeyed to the lands, she felt at home and welcomed by most, if not all. That feeling alone made her heart swell, for never had she been welcomed so kindly before.

Not far from the resting female, a large male lion roamed. His pelt a light tan in color with the area of his stomach being an even lighter shade. Now visible to her, at the moment were a pair of bright crimson eyes. Blinking in the bright sun light, the male lion headed towards the watcering hole slowly.

Opening one part of a pair of light brown eyes, the light female let one of her ears perked as she caught the sound of crunching on the winds. As a scent floated across her senses, she lifted her form and pushed to her paws, stretching her lean form eligantly before gazing around with both eyes. Indeed, it was suddenly easy to catch sight of the male adult, though he seemed no where near her. Taking a moment, she settled back down on her haunces and watched as he moved towards the watering hole, slowly and evenly.
He reminded her of the royalty. With that in mind, she smiled and jumped from her resting place, slowly padding towards him with the thought to get to know those who ruled these lands.
"Hello there..." She murmered once she neared him, her voice soft and airy like the dry winds around them. Sending him a light smile, she waited for his response as she glanced to where he was heading.

Kijito paused as he was approached by an oddly colored female. Shaking his mane out slightly, he took a slight step towards her only to bow low in greeting. Unable to talk he had to come up with some way to communicate.

Her soft brown eyes widened as he bowed low, and she could only mutely return the gesture before looking up from her lower position.
"Am I mistaken...?" She murmered to him as she raised her head, "You appear to be related to the king..." She seemed stunned, because usually royalty would never bow to a lower level lion. The pride once more had surprised her with their kindness, and slowly she smiled once more from the enjoyment of being respected like a family.
"I am Palesa...may I be fortunate enough to learn of your name?" She had to be careful, because in her eyes he still seemed to look so much like Mufasa did.

Kijito nodded his head as as spoke. His eyes sparkled with amusement at he surprised expression. Shifting slightly Kijito began to sratch his name into the sand before him lightly.

Her ears fell as he seemed to say nothing, only move to scratch something. Moving slightly closer, she peered down at the words before shifting to slide next to him to see it the right way up.
"Kijito?" She murmered lightly to him, looking to where he was as she read off the words, "...can you speak?" Suddenly it made sense why he bowed, and she waited for him to answer, though she knew now it probably would not be with words.

Kijito shook his head slightly, varifying that he was unable to speak. Settling back onto his hunches, he watched her quietly. His ear's flicking slightly to make sure all was well around them.

As he confirmed her assumptions, the two fell into an akward silence, her light form shifting every once in awhile until she could only send him a fleeting smile.
"I..." She started softly, before suddenly realizing something, "I have a friend near the watering hole, and I saw you were heading that way, maybe we could travel together since it is on my way as well?" She brightened her smile, glad she was able to think up something that wouldn't involve him needing to speak at all.
