So~ I thought about an alternative, and I came up with moderator interviews. The name says it all, I just ask a number of questions of the moderator candidate, and I alone judge from that whether they should join or not. It works much more efficiently IMHO. 3nodding

Before you accept this offer, I need to ask you a few questions so that the guild vice captain and I may get to understand your abilities a bit more clearly. If you don't wish to accept, simply disregard this message, or reply stating such. Otherwise, please try to answer them in a timely fashion, and feel free to reply if there's anything you're confused about!
Why do you want to be a moderator of our guild?
How long have you been a member of our guild? How much of a contributor do you think you are?
Are you active? Would you be willing to check every subforum daily?
Do you have moderating experience at other guilds/forums? Give links.
Have you read the Gaia Online Terms of Service and Rules & Guidelines thoroughly?
Do you have any bad habits, like flaming noobs?
Are you currently involved in any jobs, activities, groups, or otherwise obligations that would keep you from visiting the guild on a daily basis? If so, explain.
Do you feel you'd be able to enforce the rules fairly and equally upon anybody, even your own friends? Would you want to enforce the rules upon your own friends if they were breaking them?
And finally, why should we choose you?
