Into Silar - Part 5; Settling In
Odanna was the resort region of Silar, so it was not unusual to find the realm's denizens travelling in large groups. So Haze and company was not quite as conspicuous as Huni thought they were going to be. Even the members of their little pack were not out-of-place, despite Silar not being as diverse in races as Gaia.
They walked from the private dock into the market place, where all the entrances and exits of Odanna were connected. Stalls upon stalls hawking all sorts of goods and wares lined the streets. Haze ignored them all having declared things sold outside legitimate stores was nothing more than garbage. Huni didn't share her employer's opinion.
She would pause from time to time, jade eyes staring longingly at a piece of jewelry or a lovely set of make up. Until Haze would bark at her to keep up.
"And keep an eye on that wretched fish. She's liable to get lost or captured and sold as a slave." Haze instructed. Though she sounded harsh and annoyed, she was concerned that no one in the group caused a scandal or any sort of mess.
Speaking of Shimmer, most of the locals and vacationers would notice the goldfish as they walked by. If only because of her brightly colored skin and hair. Then gradually their attention would shift to Retta because of the tea cup dangling from the sheep-girl's tail. The rest of the group went unnoticed as most people saw Keith as a lizard resting atop Huni's shoulder rather than the green-haired young man whose arm was slung across the woman's frame.
Huni grunted in response as she kept a close watch on the children and Shimmer. They eventually arrived at the hotel where Haze had booked their rooms, naturally Haze had a suite all to herself, the girls Metanoia, Retta and Shimmer would be sharing one room while Huni watched over Elias, Habi and Keith. The division of labor didn't surprise the Gaian one bit, and Haze promptly left the stroller where Elias and Habi rode with Huni.
"I'll be taking a much needed beauty rest. Talk to the porters about which luggage goes to which room and get the keys from the front desk." Haze instructed before sauntering off.
"Sure, sure." Huni sighed, rubbing the back of her head. She stared at the children she was to usher to their rooms, grateful she didn't have to worry about bringing their luggage as well. The bellhop soon arrived, their bags on the wheeled trolley he pushed. The Gaian gave the porter a grateful and apologetic smile at the number of their belongings.
The man merely nodded in understanding, "This way ma'am."
