i must say kate the curse has a point, i loved doing theater in high school but the bummer was the school taking funding away from us and giving it to the damn football team. thus we used the same platforms 3 years in a row and rented our serious costumes from the local university. i was costume designer for middsummer nights Dream and never geven got to buy fabrics for my designs because of lack of funding. needless to say i was more than peeoed. but in the end you do have the good memories from rehersals and auditions and set buildingat least there's always that. 3nodding

I loved my theatre in high school, but the reason i voted just for content was because our musicals. We did an amazing job with them but I was stage manager, yes i play both sides of the stage. I front when acting and then backstage, stage managing. I love both of them. although i did start stage managing my freshman year of high school i was through right into it and i loved it, even when the music director yelled at my for his incompitant actors.

No over all it was great, i won best actor in the state of Nebraska twice. i couldn't ask for more. I had amazing people acting beside me and i trusted them all. which was better. i wish i could go back.

I miss you all back in Fremont...I love you all too.

High School Theatre.... When one is still stuck there... AUG.

I love theatre, and doing it with people who love the art, beacasue of the art. Not just the fame, and the fun times. Many people in our theatre department are just there to have fun. Or create Drama. Yay favorites. Blech.

I say, if one can hold out through high school theatre, they are ready for any type of theatre, where the people care and the work is fun beacause of the art.

So for those still in high school. Start doing Community theatre, and do high school productions so you can learn how to work with jerks etc. Because they are there no matter what.

to be honest, the theatre department in my high school wasn't all that great...I mean I still had fun and learned a lot. But they changed directors when I became a sophomore, and all it became was a promotional reputation for the school.

-And from what I heard from some of my friends that still go there, it's still not improving.
