 Forgotten's Name: Luka
Forgotten's Gender: Female
Forgotten's Appearance:
Physical Luka's appearance is striking, but not that far from ordinary. Her skin is a very dark brown, almost black, and is rarely shiny with sweat. She has no tattoos, scars, or moles, a fact she grows to be more proud of as she ages. Her hair is a deep black and worn short. It is tightly curled, and unlike her skin, it is shiny and thick. Her eyes are a deep blue, seeming almost out of place in bright light, but darkening to match her overall coloration under normal lamps.
No fabric is safe when Luka is around. She thinks normal clothing is kind of dumb (Everyone can buy that shirt? Puh.) and she prefers to 'make' her own. When she's younger all this means is that she'd rather wrap herself in a towel than put on a shirt from Baby Gap, but once she becomes a child, her father is going to need an extra room for all her random fabrics and accessories.
Her features are blunt and coarse for a child, making her look angry when she's not. She counters this by smiling often, developing a very convincing 'sincere' smile at a young age.
Traits In addition to this smile, Luka exudes a kind of used car salesman 'Like Me' vibe. It's not disconcerting in a child, and once she's grown enough for people to realize that she might be leeching their affection from them instead of earning it, it's probably too late to take it back.
In every other way, she seems to be a normal, happy child. She appears to enjoy playing, being held, making friends, and learning new things. Every so often, out of the corner of your eye, Luka might seem to be smirking at you for being so easy to dupe. But when you turn back to face her she's smiling again, and you forget that you ever doubted her sincerity.
Forgotten's Personality: Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
Luka is quick to compliment others and attempt to make them feel at ease with her. Her desire to have people like her is so strong that it permeates everything she does. She is brash and loud on top of it all, and although she won't compromise her own personality just to earn trust and admiration, she also won't give up until everyone she meets at least tolerates her. She's incredibly smarmy. Used car salesman or game show host is really the most appropriate way to describe it.
She laughs loudly and often and can make a person feel special by bragging to others about their accomplishments or hanging on their every word. All of this behavior is unconscious, and even though she resents being told she's manipulative, she secretly enjoys hoarding the love that others give her so freely.
While it is unlikely that most people she meets will remained unaffected by her charms, it should be pointed out that these are aspects of Luka's personality and not her powers. Any and all other Forgotten/Daemon pairs have the ability to shut her out, like an older brother who comes home from college thinking he's hot s**t because everyone loves him now. They know where she came from and can ignore her if they choose. It also helps that they are in contact with Memory, at least their daemons are, and through him can see that Luka is not as perfect and interesting as she strives to appear.
When she is alone with Memory, Luka is a different girl. Only when she is alone is she truly accepting of what she is and how much her daemon means to her. Again, she's not intentionally letting her guard down since she is bubbly without her doing anything, but that is the easiest way to describe her shift in personality.
Powers, talents, special traits?: Luka has a absurdly strong stomach and loves to eat as much spicy food as she can wrap her lips around. She's practically fearless, and the only things that can frighten her consistently are those fun house scares (the "boo!" kind).
That being said, it is important to note Luka is only fearless within reason. She's obviously not going to see someone get stabbed through the eye and not react, she's just a lot more likely to experiment with and be injured doing dangerous things just to prove to herself she can.
Luka's only supernatural power is her incredible ability to heal her own body. She doesn't heal any faster than anyone else, she is simply left with no scars when she is done, like her body has a set way of looking that must be maintained. Her hair never needs to be cut, and if she hasn't been injured recently, her skin is blemish-free.
Other important qualities: Baxter's influence is strong with this one. From the time he brings her home until the time she's old enough to venture out on her own (late child to early preteen), Luka doesn't make many friends, at least not ones that aren't normal, everyday humans. She knows she could not live without Memory and that he is much more than a strange, exotic pet, but that is how everyone around her sees him. She loves him like a brother, but her father's early prejudices are always in the back of her mind.
Other important concept details: In her past life, Luka was a twenty-something girl from the midwest, equally at home shooting targets at Wade's Shooting Range as she was serving hamburgers at Sonic. She was involved in a tragic car accident that cost her parents their lives and Luka her short-term memory. Over the next five years of her life, she briefly spent time in a mental institution before being passed from opportunist to opportunist and used in schemes that ranged from simple robbery to murder. By the time she was shot and killed at the age of 29, she had murdered six people and stolen from dozens more, with no memory of any of her crimes at all. The man who killed her told her this as she died, and Luka vowed to never let anyone take advantage of her again. It's a good thing she was reborn so she could keep the promise she made to herself.
Daemon's Name: Memory
Daemon's Species: Ostrich!
Daemon's Appearance:
Physical Memory starts out at about half Luka's size, but ends up at about seven and a half feet tall when he is done growing. Otherwise, he looks just like a normal male ostrich.
Traits It would be hard for Memory to hide that he's a little crazy. Add to that the fact that he doesn't want to hide, and you're left with one whacked out animal. He always looks a little spaced out, and he enjoys squawking whenever it gets too quiet. He isn't a big fan of people, so while his Forgotten is chatting people up, Memory is off to the side, grooming himself or staring off into space.
Daemon's Personality: All of Luka's former insecurities, her overall young woman issues, and her memory loss have been reborn in this daemon. He is uneasy around people and often forgets what you were talking to him about five minutes before.
Powers, talents, special traits?: Just the power of the random outburst.

Memory's unreliable. No, really. Memory's not perfect. It's not even that good. Ask the police; eyewitness testimony is unreliable. The cops don't catch a killer by sitting around remembering stuff. They collect facts, make notes, draw conclusions. Facts, not memories: that's how you investigate. I know, it's what I used to do. Memory can change the shape of a room or the color of a car. It's an interpretation, not a record. Memories can be changed or distorted and they're irrelevant if you have the facts. How does the excerpt affect the pair?: Memory is unaffected by nearly everything that doesn't frighten him. Luka looks at her excerpt as a warning. It reminds her of what she doesn't want to be. What does it reveal about..... their past?: The excerpt shows how uncontrollable Luka's past life was. She was an unreliable person thrust into situations beyond her control. Sadly, she was no longer sane and should have remained institutionalized. .. how they are now that they are "reborn" as a Forgotten?: The excerpt reveals quite a bit about Memory the daemon. He is not to be trusted, not because he means to be malicious, but because he is never in his right mind. Luka hopes to hide this about him and can do a fair job of it with her overwhelming personality. When Memory acts up, it puts Luka in a bad light as well, and opens her up to questions about her own sanity. .. their future?: Luka will always strive to sway those who might think ill of her back to her side. Her interactions with others are based on the idea that they don't have all the facts about her and how she can use that to her advantage.

Name: Baxter Green Age: 54 Hair: Brownish-auburn. Balding a bit. Moustache. Eyes: Brown. White guy eye-shaped. Skin: Tanned from outdoor work. A bit of sunburn across the bridge of his nose and the back of his neck. Height: 6'2" Weight: I'm not good with weights. He's muscley from his job, but he also has a beer belly. You do the math.
Stuff: Baxter is just an everyday Aekea garbageman. His parents were prominent figures in the Earth commune he grew up in. He was taught that Gaians were strange and that anything even remotely supernatural was to be feared. He's very repressed. Luka and Memory would present him with an interesting challenge and something of a new life.
His wife was killed three years ago and his son is away at college.

Baby or toddler Not even a week has passed since you found your way into the Library and found your Forgotten and it's daemon. Things have been mostly quiet, but it seems that's come to an end. Your baby and it's daemon are in an uproar and cries, shrieks, and pitches fits that never end. There's nothing that will satisfy them, nothing that will make them stop. Their behaviour rapidly gets worse as time passes. Who would've thought one baby and it's daemon could be this bad?
What's going on with the baby and daemon? What's causing this behaviour? What do you do to stop it? What do you do when you've got a cranky Forgotten and a daemon both throwing tantrums? Thinking...Baby and toddler You decide on a trip to the house and the Library with your Forgotten and it's daemon. Of course, you're not exactly sure how to find the Library because it certainly isn't the same way that you went last time ( not that you can really remember how you got there last time; a few too many accidents on the way ). It seems, however, that the house is up to it's usual tricks and somehow, despite everything, you get separated from your toddler.
And then the real trouble begins. You find yourself on a quest within this house that can't possibly be this large ( it didn't look as big from the outside! ) and facing many trials and perils along the way. You must make it through the dangers the tricky house poses and find wherever it's hidden your toddler. It cannot be helped if the house is testing you to see if you're truly worthy of being a guardian. ... or it's really, really bored. Mind your feet as you explore, it does so like sucking them into the floorboards.
Meanwhile your Forgotten and it's daemon are dealing with perils and troubles all their own that are being thrown at them by the house. They're trying to get back to you or just get out of the place they've been taken to within the house! Just how will both the guardian and the Forgotten and daemon handle being terrorized by the house itself? Thinking...Child or preteen Dreams and nightmares come to everyone, including young children. Your Forgotten, not quite that old, has been having dreams every night this week. The noises that the Forgotten and her daemon make have woken you up on more than one occasion. You think nothing of it, dreams are a normal occurrence, and if they're happy ones, why wake the Forgotten up? However, the dreams start to shift and change, from dreams to nightmares and your young child Forgotten cannot break free of them -- stuck in the nightmare.
What is this nightmare? How does it affect the Forgotten and it's daemon? And how, in the end, does the Forgotten escape the nightmare-ish landscape it's own mind created? Thinking...Child or preteen On what was suppose to be a normal trip to a local amusement park with your Forgotten and her daemon, you eventually lose hold. The child, along with it's daemon, slip off into the chaos that is the crowds at the amusement park. The Forgotten and daemon both start to wander around on their own, exploring everything they can while their guardian can't keep an eye on them. Eventually, however, one of the park employees spot the child and daemon and come towards them, thinking the child is lost.
The Forgotten has never reacted well with strangers, and this is no exception. Suddenly afraid and finding themselves cornered, the Forgotten reacts and their latent powers manifest themselves. Having no true control over their powers yet, or knowledge of them, how does the Forgotten react? What happens to the park employee? And what do you do when you finally realize this child is not as ordinary as it once appeared? Woo! I don't think I'm doing this one because I did it for the FS all those months ago!Teenager As a teenager, your forgotten has once again looked over their excerpt. A scrap of paper with only so many words that supposedly defines who and what they are. This isn't the first time they've questioned themselves, they did so as a child as well, but now there's a desperate edge to the questioning.
Your forgotten is unsure of themselves, of who and what they are and who they could become. They are so unsure of themselves, so confused, that words and phrases from their excerpt keep disappearing and reappearing. Every time this happens, it's as if a piece of your forgotten and it's daemon are lost.
Something must be done. Some insight must be gained by forgotten and daemon. They must either accept who and what they are or risk totally losing themselves and any chance for direction in their life. As the words fade away from the paper, so do they and so does their chance for understanding everything.
And there's nothing, it seems, that you can do about it.
( Additional note! Let it be known that in the end, it is the forgotten's choice of whether or not their excerpt defines their lives. It is, obviously, a part of them, but whether or not they live by it is up to them. If they live with the story all ready told or write a new one is all up to them. Sounds repetitive, but I want you all to get that point. ) Thinking...
