Oh.

They're straight.

... Oh well, that doesn't change the fact that it's badass music.

You see, I stopped caring about the sexuality of anyone in Diru after seeing the OBSCURE video... but uh...

I'm finding it hard to believe that Miyavi could be straight. Like... really hard to believe.

See...I think Miyavi is bi. cause I mean, that kid just oozes it. The first picture I saw of him, my gaydar was ringing so loud my ears started bleeding. XD And I wouldn't be surprised if most J-rockers were bi. They all seem to be pretty bi to me. Hell, they get the best of both worlds that way. XD

And I am a little fangirl and enjoy my KyoxTotchi shipping! XD and TotchixShinya cause it's soooooooooo cute! I mean, I own the VCD of the live where Toshiya tackles Shinya to the stage, nuzzles him, then plays with his hair before getting off him..and every time I squeal and cry and say "HONTOU NI KAWAII!" whee I can't help liking it! it's just there and cute and there! XD

I could honestly care less about any J-rocker's sexuality though. As long as I have my fangirl fantasies I'll be happy. XD

ok what i meant was like gackt is bi, mana is gay.......etc

but i do know that yes alot of them aren't(fanfics) so maybe i didn't word it correctly sweatdrop but oh well lol

I'm pretty sure that Mana is straight... MAYBE bi, but I dunno. He acts more "mannish" since he's out of Malice Mizer, I've noticed. And he hasn't touched fanservice with a ten-foot pole as far as M10M goes. Then again, that might just be the sort of person Mana-sama is.

But, Gackt all but ADMITTED to being bi in an interview once. XD

If I remember correctly, he said that he admitted to having both sexual and spiritual relationships with women, but if he were in a relationship with a man it would be more-so spiritual. (Though I don't believe him. He is WAY too pro-fanservice XDD) Then he said that if anyone wanted call him bi after that, go ahead. xd

Real Person Slash gives me the willies...it strikes me as gross and stalker-esque and disrepectful...I mean...these are real people with real lives and not only do most of these fics have them in highly improbable situations but totally fabricate their personalities as well...and then throw them into wince-inducing sexual situations...

It just strikes me as all around wrong.
I can take slash/yaoi/BL of any stripe but Real Person Slash...

Fanservice is cute, I suppose, but it seems to happen much less these days.

As for jrocker's sexuality...I dunno how many of them would admit to being gay or bi. Its likely a good number of them are in fact straight or don't give a crap. Sex and sexuality is handled kinda differently in Asia...in America we're all hung up on what someone does behind closed doors and when we find out, we feel we have to make assumptions about what that person is like or should be like because of something we learned about his sexual practices.

Asia can be more homophobic in that gender roles and stuff tend to still be more rigid in places like China, Korea and Japan and expectations for what proper men and women should do are still very ingrained in the culture. But largely, as long as you still behave like a productive citizen, it seems that private lives are very very hushhush and no one really wants to know about it.
ASian countries also seem to be a lot less hung up on a person's appearance as a clue in to their sexuality...thus why VK exists in Japan and didn't develop in the US.

Plus, Asia has crossdressing and male/male affection in its history (in Kabuki theater and samurai tradition and in Korean and Chinese history too), so its kinda tricky to judge a place like Japan sheerly on Western standards of sexuality and identity.

I really dislike fanfiction pairing up J-rockers. (It's not that I'm like "OMG, ew~ gay!" I wouldn't have the term yaoi scribbled on my shoe if that was the case.) These are real people. Feel free too pair together non-existent people. That's fine. They're non-existent.

And I also disagree with the theory that because J-rockers have fanservice and such, they're gay or lovers or, ya know, whatever. The majority of my friends are straight. (The exception being this one bi girl, and myself-I'm A. I'll discuss it later if anyone really cares.) But we still roleplay as guys that are flamboyantly gay when we're together. This doesn't mean we're gay- we're just having a good time and laughing at the looks we get from people.

So... *shrug* Don't dig into people's personal lives and make assumptions... yeah...

Yeah...I agree...I'm really really tired of fangirls who convince themselves that somehow their favorite pretty boys live up the gay swinging lifestyle...
Homosexuality as its popularly known is a really Western ideal...the gay lifestyle isn't viewed or experienced the same way the world over.
Gayness is not black and white, and I'd like to think that the performance of visual kei artists transcends the superficial binary between homosexual and heterosexual, that's not what the genre is all about.

Nor does a few isolated behaviors or even habitual "homosexual" kinds of behaviors define who a person is.

Jrockers are PERFORMERS. Fangirls can fantasize all they like that their precious Mana-sama is having elegant gothic tea parties in gardens of death while gaying it up with Gackt in a bed of red roses day in and day out, but face the facts, girlies, dear old Mana is probably sitting in a studio somewhere, in unglamorous plainclothes and not gaying up ANYONE.

Does anyone REALLY believe what they see on stage is what jrockers do in real life? o_O

The fan girl in me loves to see them do their fan service. What can I say it's plain out hot. One can only dream of something more.
