does anyone know what the cartoon was this series was based on?

I htink it was really based off a cartoon or book where the 127 runes travelled through time and they played out there roles.

because I saw a cartoon called suikoden where it in our time and played off of this theme.

Don't know about cartoon.

You might be thinking of "Suikoden: Demon Century" Which has NOTHING to do with the games.

Suikoden the game on the other hand is based on a chinese novel called Outlaws of the marsh.

There are also other things based on the novel but I'm not sure about any cartoons.

I know for sure that the Suikoden series wasn't based on any cartoon. There is a Manga but it was based on Suikoden III.

And 127 Runes? eek Daaaang, there's only 27 True Runes in Suikoden.

Yep. I saw Demon Century. IT was also based on The Water Margin legend. That's what suikoden translates to. Genso means fantasy so....yeah. you can figure it out.

I can't say I've never seen this movie, but I've been hearing a lot about it...

To anyone who's seen it, is it any good? Worth watching? Would it make me sad or happeh?

I seen it. It's sad because it's totally not really related whatsoever to the Sui games and it'll make you really happy because it's about the 108 stars XDD well, kind of >.>

Yes... Suikoden is loosely based off of a Chinese book called Outlaws of the Marsh.

An earlier translation of it is actually called All Men are Brothers, and the most recent one is called Outlaws of the Marsh, respectively.

Everyone keeps repeating the same things in different amounts, so here's the full dealio;

"The Suikoden series is loosely based on a classical Chinese novel, Shui Hu Zhuan (Outlaws of the Marsh), by Shi Nai'an and Luo Guanzhong."

The anime "Suikoden: Demon Century" is not a movie, but a full series of anime that was not released in America. Only the first part was released in America, so they only got up to like 5 stars of destiny. It has nothing to do with Genso Suikoden, and was merely based on Shui Hu Zhuan.

How many threads can we have talking about the same topic..?
