They're completely different, and I enjoy them both for different reasons. Lestat I love character-wise because of his wit, arrogance, and his amazing storytelling. Jean-Claude, I could just fall in love with because of his sex appeal and the kindness that he shows in tender moments.

Writing style, hands down, Jean-Claude. I've only ever finished 2 1/2 books of the Vampire Chronicles, 1 1/2 of them with Lestat.
Jean-Claude's fun laughing ability is a major point in his direction as well.
Now, dream wise...I haven't had an of Jean-Claude. Lestat has been in two, and I have weird dreams. One included a pool table and him sucking my heel, the other had Louis, Claudia and him with me, speaking in French, German and Spanish with English subtitles.
Jean-Claude wins for sex appeal, but Lestat wins in the interesting weirdo factor.

Choices, choices. I always think it's funny when people compare such different characters.
I like Lestat, of course. He's like the ultimate narcissus and therefore the uber vampire. He's arrogant, beautiful, powerful and has one hell of a god complex. If that isn't the definition of a classic vampire I don't know what is.
I do like Jean Claude too though. He's not small potatoes but his universe seems so much smaller than Lestat's to me.
Yea, apples and oranges. They're both fruit but totally different in taste, texture and everything in between.

Its hard to say I love Lestat but if I ever saw Jean-Claude dance with a corpse and take her child home as a present for his lover then it'd be Jean-Claude hands down. (Claudia was the best part of IwaV ) ( What really miffed me about QotD movie was them saying that his maker was Marius when really it was some vamp who really liked blonds and found his ideal man in Lestat then killed himself immediatly thereafter )

Lestat's maker was named Magnus. That whole movie was crap anyway. How can you have QotD without Mekare?

Lestat- ...................................................I luff him. I've been a fan for so long.... emo I can't just abondon him... Jean-Claude-Geh-WHY MUST I CHOSE?
