Jacques Adelaide, Gargoyle of Paris

The times Jacques Adelaide was born into were turbulent ones. The Americas were having many political disagreements with England and those disagreements eventually turned into war. Jacques was 4 when the American Revolution began. His father was a sailor and had been sent to battle the Brittish when the French decided to fight against their island enemy. He was one soldier who never came home. Jacques, however, remembers none of that, even up to the night that he was sired. He doesn't remember the cult he secretly snuck off to at night, or the horrific rites he performed. It was at these cult meeting he met his soon to be master, a member of clan Tremere. Jacques, though bright and perceptive, was stronger physically. He was not worthy of joining clan Tremere, but the warlock saw he would be a great defender of their chantry.

The night was July 14, 1789. The increasingly unpopular monarchy was about to begin spiraling downward as the Bastille was stormed. It was during these times, while Jacques was alone, that a devil flew from the sky, and sunk its fangs into his neck. After that, Jacques was no longer human. He didn't even resemble what he once was. When he came too, he found that his skin was as stone is and that he could remember nothing of what he used to be. He was now a lowly guard of the building that would be his eternal torture. His Tremere masters allowed him to keep his name, though it was only used by his kind gargoyle sire, as well as the other gargoyles of the building. Unfortunately for Jacques, he was sired by gargoyles still in the service to the Tremere. The French Revolution did not stop clan Tremere from being in Paris. Their gargoyle guards fed off of those who would storm their borders, and charms kept the few who got past from even wishing to be there. Jacques learned that where he lived was his territory, and that he had to protect it with his life.

As Jacques slaved for his Tremere masters, he became more and more monstrous. He could only gain the blood sustenance by actually eating the organs of his victims, and his temper became increasingly short. His short temper was one of the reasons that when whispers of their own rebellion arose, Jacques jumped on the idea. He and his gargoyle brothers slew as many Tremere as they could form that chantry, wiping out almost all members before taking flight and disappearing into the night. That chantry has since been abandoned. Jacques couldn't stand to leave Paris, his home. He hid in the cathedral of Notre Dame, and he protected it well from any who dared to invade his home, even if they had no malicious intention. He harbored a hatred of the Tremere as well, he did not know who he was before he was sired, but he knew the Tremere were the ones responsible, not his kind sire or any of the other gargoyles who aided in the destruction of the Paris chantry. Finally, Jacques knew it was time to leave Paris. Since many had died in his home (due to him, of course) he decided to go out in search of a new home.

His travels brought him to Miami where he found an old abandoned church to call his haven. He was found by Sabbat leaders who at first were going to destroy him, but when they found what he had done at his former chantry, they allowed him, shakily, into the Sabbat.

He rarely leaves his home, unless word of a Tremere in the city comes across him, or he is ordered to do something for the Sabbat. It is quite difficult for him to leave, since he stands at 6'3" and is seemingly made completely of stone. his arms are long and his talons are sharp. His face is disfigured, a constant look of sadness is always apparent. The horns that protrude from the top of his head aren't large, but they are very difficult to hide. All this can be hidden, however, with the right clothing (which Jacques refuses to wear) but his large wings are impossible to hide.

The crisp winds and frosty fall of October was hailing upon the wooden house outside Dublin, Ireland. There inside was born Julianna Gowan, to a family that had a luxurious potato farm with the newest toys. This farm was known throughout Ireland and England as to have the best potatoes, and to have their daughter born, her parents knew that their farm would keep going. Gowan Ranches was a large 100 acres with plenty of Irish boys to tend the fields.

The years passed, and Julianna was taught how to be a lady, poked and prodded to sit up straight, to walk and talk with the accent, but she never did like it. But she did it for the boys, as by the time she was 13, she was walking by the younger workers, who were about a few years older, and have their heads turn and their hats taken off in courtesy to the young heiress.

The years passed and her parents were both growing old… and at the age of 16, her father passed away. With her mother still clinging to life, Julianna began to run the farm, or well, have one of her close lovers run it. Her mother couldn’t tell the difference. Finally, a few months later, her mother passed away as well. A few days of mourning and seclusion was all that Julianna needed. She kept running that farm, but never really liked it as much.

However, something caught her eye… staring in pornography. She loved how women positioned themselves in front of a camera or painter, staying in the position so that each curve can pop out. She eventually joined, and letting her body being touched and nude in front of a camera or an artist… and having her way with them later.

At the time she was 23, Julianna finally got tired of the Ranch being a problem for her and sold it to the highest bidder. With the money, she bought herself a boat ride to the U.S., and with the rest of it, got herself a luxurious apartment. There, she posed and positioned in any free manner… letting men be her master. She was a favorite among all in the area, even to the undead.

One spring night she was filming with this man who was known to be the best porn producer in the area, and after getting a few positions out of her, they finally began to wrestle among her sheets and there, the Embrace, and she was all his. Shocked at first, he coaxed her into it… and so, the undead gave her an advantage to have her flawless features forever.

As technology flourished, so did what Julianna did. She appeared in multiple films, only small ones to not get that noticed, but then was like “to hell with it!” And she appeared in multiple films, so of the larger known. Since she had to give it a break for at least 20 years, she has been using these past 20 years just simply filming and producing hit movies, letting the flourish and her resources grow, as she moved out of that apartment and into that luxurious mansion. There, she does most of her filming, mainly from the Victorian era, and having her Vaulderies.

But this doesn’t state how she got into the Sabbat, no? Well her sire was of Sabbat blood, so she was automatically an Anti-Tribute. Her sire led her down to Miami, where he was Archbishop of the time… but one fatal move and the Cardinal of the U.S. sent him to his demise, she stepped up as a better, more efficient Archbishop, and she received her title.

And that is where the story ends… or begins.

Jacob Riverson

Growing up was hard for Jacob. His family did pretty well for themselves, so money was never an issue, but Jacob had a sort of physical disfigurement. Jacob was oversized. By the time he was in the 4th grade, he had reached a height of 5'2''. He reached his current height by the time he was a freshman. Sure nobody picked on him, physically, but even his friends made cracks about his size. SO by the time he was a junior, he cut out of his house, of his school, of his life. He headed to the bad parts of Miami, parts his parents had always warned him to stay away from.

His size made him a prime canidate for many groups of thugs around. He bounced around from group to group, as he learned to fight and avoid the law pretty well.

Word soon spread of Jacob's expertise and he was invited to a more prestigious organization. They were a group of like minded individuals that loved to oppose everything organized. Anarchist or nihilist or whatever, they didn't label themselves, they just spread the chaos. Jacob was a welcome addition and soon he helped them create quite a bit of disorder.

What Jacob didn't know is that the leaders of the "gang" were vampires (their clan is unknown even to this day, though it is assumed they were Sabbat Brujah). In either case, somehow a 7th gen of the Tzimisce clan found out about Jacob and decided to Embrace him. ((I'll edit this later, just too tired to think about specifics T.T))

The Embrace did not go well. Jacob's blood must not have been vampire compatable because when the Embrace was over, Jacob was a hulking Monstrosity. His ears and face were more animalistic and grotesque than even those of the Nosferatu. And worse yet, he displayed other oddities: plants died when he was near, small animals passed out, and he did not cast a reflection. Jacob's sire was repulsed that she had created such a being. She immediately tried to destroy Jacob. His size and his training allowed him to escape.

((Will finish later))

"Gigi" the beautiful young girl said from the doorway. Bega turned to see her 14 year old great grand daughter in bare feet and an over-sized Dolphins jersey. "I taught you were in bed, child." Juliette shrugged her shoulders and sat on the ottoman across from Bega's chair. She looked down to the photo album on her grandmother's lap. With a colorfully painted nail, Juliette gently traced a picture of her mother, Marianne, as a baby being held by her mother, Bega's daughter, Theresa. "Was this taken in Barbados?" Bega nodded. "Gigi, tell me about her and you. I want to know all of it." Bega laughed. "Child, that would take all night." However, Juliette's pout had her begin anyway.

"As yeh know, you come from a long line of Voodoun priestesses. For as long as anyone cares to remember, women in our family have been given "the eye". I have it and we shall see if you do too. It's still too early to tell. Anyway, anytime there is power there will be someone that wants to take it away. A boat landed on Barbados a month after I had Theresa. On it was a monsteh who tried to take meh from my daughteh but I fought and killed him. I taught it was over but years later, after Teri had your motha, friends of the man came back to seek vengence. They didn't get me so they took Teri. I did everyting they asked to get her back but they killed her anyway. So I took Marianne and came to the United States. I was careful so no one would know where we were but they came anyway. This time I was prepared and I made sure dat no one was left to come afta us again.

Your mama was a beautiful but wild at times. We fought like angry cats until the day she went off to college. Buoy, I was proud of dat girl when she walked across dat stage. Almost as proud as I was when she told me she was getting married to yo papa. The day she 'ad you, babeh, proud wasn't a strong enough word. My heart exploded from meh chest."

Juliette sat back a bit and murmered, "That's when she got sick right?" Red tears seeped from the corners of Bega's eyes as she stroked the photo in the album on her lap as she nodded. Juliette began to cry as well. "Then what, Gigi? This is the part you never tell me." Bega looked at her great grand daughter. She already knew so much and accepted it all. But could the child accept that her great grandmother had killed her own mother?

Vincent Cosades was the child of a very influential family in the town of Geneva, Switzerland. At the age of 7, he lost his mother to Consumption, and was raced by his father and older sister, Daria. At the age of ten, a very eccentric old man, Byron von Sturling, moved into Geneva and befriended the family; at that point, he became Vincent's mentor. For many years, he studied the art of hypnotism under Sturling's tutelage, and became a very good amateur hypnotist, working at a psychiatric ward as an assistant psychologist.

At the age of twenty-one, Vincent came home from work to find his home completely in flame. He charged into his home, shouting for his father and sister, but they were nowhere to be found. Vincent managed to flee before the entire building collapsed. However, by the time the authorities arrived, the mansion was burned to the ground and Vincent was nowhere to be seen. Prior, Vincent had run to the only person he could: Byron von Sturling. When Vincent entered his home, his clothes were tattered and burned; his face was covered in soot and there were burns the length of his body. Vincent collapsed on the floor, crying at the loss of his family, pleading to Sturling for console. And the old man did in fact give him console: that night, Vincent was embraced.

For many years, Vincent lived with Sturling as his apprentice, performing experiments on captured hosts and learning many styles of Thaumaturgy and weapons training. For many years, he was happy, until fire once again claimed all he had. One night in his 123rd year as a Kindred, he saw a brilliant light illuminating from Byron von Sturling's mansion. As he ran towards the light, he saw multiple men and women standing around the mansion, with fire light from their fingertips. However, as the mansion toppled, Sturling leapt out of the inferno, using his own thaumaturgy to electrocute and explode his opponents. However, he was felled by one of the remaining opponents. Vincent, in his anger, impaled the assassin and rushed to his master's side. As Sturling disintegrated in Vincent's arms, Sturling gave him a special amulet to enhance his Thaumaturgical power. Sturling then faded into oblivion. Vincent then left that night, never to return to Switzerland again.

Over the years, Vincent had traveled many places and lived through many wars, all of which up heaved him to a new location. He had also made his share of enemies among the main clan Tremere, killing many and burning chantries after looting them. He came to America in 1973, after living in England proved to be one of the most boring experiences of his afterlife. One night, he was in a bar, enjoying a drink, when a very drunk woodsmen came in and picked a fight with him. Vincent not wanting to show his abilities, let him win. After the woodsman left, Vincent followed him home, and showing his true powers, killed him and took his home over as a base of operations. Over the years, he put in a library to house the numerous books he had "acquired" from his friends in main clan Tremere. In the year of 1979, he was asked to enter the Sabbat as a mentor to the new Spellbinders that entered the group, and as an advisor to many of the archbishops that followed.

In the fall of 1968, Susannah Baker, a young girl was viciously raped by a man that was never caught. Her body was brutalized, her soul was damaged, and her mind was left in tatters. On top of everything else, she discovered that she was pregnant. Unable to cope with just the normal day to day memory of the attack, she decided to put the baby up for adoption, but when she had that little baby boy on May 27, she found that she couldn't give him away. Instead she named him Jacob and he was the new love of her life. Thankfully, being the product of a rape case was not the most prominent point in Caleb’s life, but ever since his mother told him about it, he could never escape the thought of it when his birthday came. Caleb spent the first part of his life in Birmingham, England, his birth-city. He had friends and did relatively well in school; he even got a gold star to take home every now and then.

However, In the summer of 1979 after finishing Primary School, he and his mother moved to America. Living in California was a big change. Lacking the friends he knew back home, he focused more on his studies. It didn't take long for Caleb to get sucked into dark fantasy stories and the occult. He made his way through middle school and high school relatively unscathed. And when the time came he decided to go to college. Although not his first choice, Caleb attended Barry University in College in the fall of 1987.

Caleb had begun in the biomedical program, but ended up switching to the pre-veterinary program the following year. In 1989, Caleb met Marianne, a lively island girl that wandered into the library by mistake. She was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen and he had to know her. Fearlessly, he made his move and they were inseparable ever since. After college, Marianne and Caleb moved in together. Everything pointed to marriage but neither of them were in a rush. Caleb had only finished his pre-vet degree so he ended up teaching so he could afford a class at a time to finish his degree.

Degree aside, nature had a different plan. In the summer of 1992, Marianne discovered she was pregnant. Safe to say, this pushed up their wedding plans. With very little money and a time constraint, they eloped. When Marianne informed her cousin Bega of the wedding and the pregnancy, the woman flipped and quickly moved to with them. Caleb thought Bega was more protective than a cousin normally was, but since he never really had a family, he didn't asked any questions. And on January 23rd, 1993 Juliette was born.

Things seemed to be going great for the following 2 years, then on a routine check up, Marianne discovered she had pancreatic cancer. Within the same month, Caleb’s mother dies of liver failure. He was devastated and it felt like his world was falling apart. On top of all that Bega was getting really weird. After a bit of digging he realized that Bega didn't exist. He was harboring an illegal. Outraged that the woman would put his little family in danger of the authorities, Caleb set out to confront her. He walked into see the Embrace of his sick wife. Unable to wrap his mind around the idea of his Voodoo cousin in law drinking his wifes blood, he had to admit that Marianne seemed stronger. Her sleep schedule was weird but she was alert and feeling good. It wasn't until she started getting frisky and bit him did he question the treatment. As he felt the blood leave his body in intoxicating waves, he briefly thought of his daughter. And as the life left his body, he wondered if Marianne was a monster. Once he awoke he was hungrier than he had ever been but the only blood he found was that of his wife. Bega had witnessed the Embrace and with a heavy heart felt that she had created an irrational beast that would leave a path of destruction that would lead back to her door. So Bega killed, not her cousin, but her grand daughter. Confused, scared, remorseful, and filled with hate and loneliness, Caleb ran.

For the next couple of years, Caleb’s tormented mind and blood thirst sent him from state to state living off the streets. Finally, Caleb was able to pull himself together and return to the only family, the only connection he had left; his daughter. Caleb pleaded with Bega to help him grow strong so he could protect his child, and she, feeling responsible, took him under her wing and taught him how to be a better Vamp. As Bega taught him, he grew fond of her and incorporated her in his remaining “family” that he swore to protect.
