@ForestGreen: I like this thread topic This past week I was working on elann's Flower Petal Shawl: http://secure.elann.com/ShowFreePattern.asp?Id=107024In red heart soft yarn 4608 wineI finished the sucker last night! I took pictures, but haven't transferred them off the camera yet. Now I'm stuck going "What to do next!?" I have a skirt for a friend I've promised for 2 years, but I don't have the space or time to work on that just now without help... merk.

@Peppermint Elf: I'm so sorry. I thought you meant that the pic was of the color you were making it in. redface I don't always click on links because of my really slow dial up. I obviously need to hunt for the new issue of Interweave Crochet now, that capelet is beautiful.
firrantello: That's a lovely shawl pattern, I can't wait to see pics of yours. I'm glad you like the topic, I hoped that it would get people posting.
Rorek: My problem is that even if I did save up the money for one, I really couldn't justify spending it on a doll because there are so many other things we need.
Thurston Moore: I'm sure your aunt will love the book. It will be a unique piece of art that she can look at and say that you were thinking of her when you made it.

ForestGreen Rorek: My problem is that even if I did save up the money for one, I really couldn't justify spending it on a doll because there are so many other things we need. I can understand that. It took me 2 1/2 years to justify purchasing my first. But I realised that I'm alot happier with this one hobby than I ever was in any of my others, and honestly? Aside from the one large cost of the doll, most dolly related stuff costs less than my old hobbies alone, or combined. :3 I used to spend $150+ a month on Build-A-Bears, and now I spend MAYBE $50 per month on doll related stuff. Not to mention the Animes I used to buy at $30 a pop, usually 2 or 3 per month, plus Mangas at $10 each, around 5 a month. I SAVE money in this hobby. The only expensive cost was the initial cost for the doll, and the nice camera I bought to take pictures, but the camera can also be used for anything, and I got a really good deal on it. :3 That's just something to think about. wink

firrantello: I love your shawl, its very nice looking and it dose not look like most things youed find in a store, very nice.
Rorek: I love what you did to your Doll. I think the panda look is so very, very cute... I myself kind of have this thing with panda's so I just think its great. blaugh I really have to make it for myself some day. xd dout I ever will... but the thought is nice.

Thanks for posting pics, it's a beautiful shawl. The whole point of this thread is to share our progress on our projects, so of course it's ok to add a link to your journal. (At least it is until the mods tell me it's not wink )
