Rules:
1:: No chatspeak, leet, or action posts (ie: *Dg hit you with a stick*). Rp must be of a literate quality. Literate being the basics of English grammer, ie: punctuation, capitalization, and spelling
2:: No godmoding. Control your character and only your characters
3:: If two months pass without you rping your child, it will be put on probation. You will be warned in thread and in your journal. If you do not return within a month, your child will be rehomed. If you do return after your child has been put on probation, you don't risk losing them unless you vanish again.
4:: Tara can and will remove the child from your care if she sees abuse of the probation period. Your child will be rehomed if they have been put on probation more than once.
5:: If you do have to leave and warn us, your child will be hiatused till your return. However, if you do not plan to return or do not believe you can for a very long time, you may request for your child to be retired or rehomed.
6:: Metaplot events have special rules. As the first metaplot showed, rp cannot always be done in a timely manner. Thus, for subsequent metaplot events, all participants must post once a week. If the week goes by and you haven't posted, you're out of the metaplot. Metaplot events count as a playdate unless otherwise noted.

Roleplay is required for these pets. Each stage has a requirement for growth to the next stage. The forms below are guidelines, Nikiana may add official rp events.

Scroll -> Toddler/Child: One JRP describing how you first came upon the scroll, one PD with Nara to unseal, and a minimum of one week.
Toddler/Child -> Adv. Child: One PD or OPD and two JRP, minimum of one month.
Adv. Child -> Teen: Two PD, one OPD, two JRP and one class,
Teen -> Adult: Two PD, two OPD, four JRP, and one class.
Adult -> Priest: Major multi component Quest

Playdates (PD):

Playdates are roleplays between two or children that are closed to those who weren't invited. The children do not all have to be scroll children. There must be five posts from each person for it to count for growth.

Example:
Martin and Reign meet. They are both allowed to post in the thread and it will count for both of them.

However, if Alair wasn't invited and specified as part of the rp, he can't join in and it won't count for him (because he's not there, why would it?)

Open Playdates (OPD):

Open Playdates are roleplays between your scroll child and whoever wishes to join in and meet them. The other children can be scroll children or even non-scroll children. Each person must post five times for it to count as complete.

Example:
Luna is wherever the pd is set. Alair, Martin and Reign can all join her. Each person must post 5 times in it for the rp to count for them.

However, if Luna and Martin both post the full five times in the rp, but Reign and Alair do not, it will only count for Luna and Martin.

Journal roleplay/entry (JRP):

JRPs can either by an entry from the parent or child's point of view, written in first person. Or it could be a roleplay between any number of your characters and written in third person. Journal roleplays are mostly of things that would be easier to do by yourself. Like your child visiting the doctor or teaching a younger sibling how to write his ABCs.

Journal roleplays must be fairly long and show some change (large or small) in your child. Whether it be the thought that doctors are evil or that the child's little siblings is stupid. Or even a physical change.

Journal entries have no restrictions, other than they are to be written in first person, from the point of view of the author.

Setting

From Earth to Gaia. With Gaia's rapidly growing population it was decided that a branch of the Royal Library of Alexandria would open there. It would offer resources and literacy to the masses. As well a serve a very different purpose.

The library is a replica of the ancient library on Earth. A very large, rectangular building is the main library. A domed skylight sheds light into what would otherwise be a very dark place. Along the outside runs a flat porch with an arched enterance. Stuck against one end of the building is a tall round building, the temple of the Muses. Only a small door leads into this building from the outside.

Unlike the prior library this one is right up against the water. A short strip of grass is all that separates the library from wooden docks. Not many ships tie up there, as most Captains are wise enough to stay away.
