Yes, it won't go away.
Even removing the Profile's top banner doesn't make it go away O:

Yeah, I think you're pretty much stuck with that. I've fussed and fussed with it, and I haven't been able to find out how to fix it. It has something to do with the scripting they use for the drop down part of the menu. Blame IE for it not going away.

Well i've seen profiles without.
I peeked at the coding for a clue as to how to fix it, but came up empty handed.
