Those whom I've had the pleasure to encounter:

Alphonse Moreau:
He is the gentleman responsible for this project, and the same man who was keeping in contact with my husband. When I first came to the island, I was uncertain what to expect. However he's proven to be quite kind and a very reasonable and seemingly responsible sir. I am much obliged that he did not turn his nose at me when I explained my story to him.

Alva Borghild: Alva is such a wonderful lady! She's so different from the women I knew back home. I can't picture her gossiping about the 'awful' dress and makeup of other women around her. No. She's quite something. She's almost like a man in her tone and voice... not that she sounds like a man, but rather, she's very in charge of her situations. I admire that about her.
She's also got quite the sharp wit and humour.

Dorian Ainsley: I don't know much about this young man. He and I (and another I shall soon speak of) were on the same boat arriving on this island. I did not speak to him really, however from observing his actions on the island, he seems to be kind-hearted. I would like to meet with him sometime to speak.

Tobias ???: The other sir who was on the same boat as Dorian and I. I've not much good to say about him I'm afraid. Perhaps he was feeling ill from the trip... or perhaps my mother's claims of the French being nothing but... no, I shouldn't write that here. Regardless, I do hope he will prove to be less devastating to himself, on the social level.

Barnabas Woolfe: What an whimsical man! I've never met someone quite so cheery. Such a pleasant conversationalist... although I admit, the soft smell of his beverage was a bit... overpowering. He reminds me a bit of my father actually. I hope to meet up with him again sometime soon!

Cristoval Ramos: I wasn't sure what to think of this fellow when I first met him. He had a self-assured air about him, and a distaste for Dr.Moreau. It soon passed however, and I found myself enjoying his company immensley. It's strange, really. There was something so familar in his reaction towards Willemina... I am fairly certain I know what however...

Yesterday, if you visited the stable by the beach, you may have noticed that the cage that held your jaguar was empty. Several other cages are empty, as are a couple of stalls.

All throughout the day, you hear sharp roars of pain echo across the island. The noises are very loud and distinctly feline, and seem to come from the lab. Occasionally there is a lull in the noise, but you still can't get the chilling, nerve-wracking screeches out of your mind. The cries carry on well into the night, and may affect your ability to sleep.

Gradually the noise dies down, and save for the chirping of crickets all is quiet. Regardless, you probably don't get a good night's sleep. At some point early in the morning today, you hear a brief shuffling outside your flat house door.

Whenever you wake up, you find a folded up note stuffed beneath the crack of the door.

Ms. Dawes, I am proud to say that progress has been made on your subject, henceforth titled 'Desdemona.' You may begin teaching it basic education, mostly by teaching it means of motor control with its hands and getting it to recognize elementary things such as colors and shapes. It cannot speak, Ms. Dawes, but it has begun to reach a higher level of thinking than the beast it once was. Start with very simple things as if you were teaching a baby. Please meet up with me outside the lab so that I may show you progress on your charge.
