"You wouldn't say something if you didn't mean it...now would you?"
He watched as she worked at his arm, his sarcastic manner not seeming to budge.
"...Just scratches."

"You are simply taking the word 'sacrfices' to the context that suits your current needs. Your current need is to get under my skin. Kudos to you, it's working." she pushed the jacked up a bit further, dropping iodine on the wound.
Fearless or not, iodine was exceedingly painful, but more powerful than peroxide. She'd take her own back in small doses.
"I'd hate to see your definition of wounded then."

"...It's what I do...peel back the layers until only the fear is left. Anger to conditioned hatred...hatred to anxiety...anxiety to the nerves...the nerves to the fear...."
He laughed - but was cut short at the sharp sting of the iodine.
"...Aaaah...." He drew a deep breath through his teeth. "...Why is that?"

A bit of a tight lipped smile formed on the white haired woman's face as Scarecrow drew breath. Spiteful, yes, but she felt better.
Finally she finished wrapping his arm and tugged the jacket back down. She turned her face up to his and shrugged.
"Likely due to the fact there would be missing limbs involved."

"Probably."
He grinned beneath the mask, rolling his neck a bit to pop the bones under the noose. Sure enough, there was a loud crack - and sighing, he tilted his head forward again to look at Nimue.
"Why, THANK YOU, Nimue, for taking SUCH good care of me even though I tried to torment you with your deepest and darkest fears. And will probably try again in the near future."

"Hmm, good luck with that dear boy." her disdain was once more evident in her voice.
The sarcasm so obviously dripping in his voice served very little purpose. Why she didn't just blast him into the wall, she didn't know. Outside of a great disapproval from her mother.
And why did he have to monologue about what he was doing? It was a rather random thought, but who in their right mind did that?
Nevermind. She answered her own question.

"Why, thank you. You're too kind. REALLY."
He crossed his arms, canting his head to one side and taking a step back.
"Now, if you'll excuse me...I have places to be. Things to do."

"Hrm..." she knew she couldn't really stop him from leaving. Not outside of bodily harm.
"I suppose you do..." she turned her back, lifting a hand and thankfully noting the water on the ground had dried. Whatever had been in that bottle was thoroughly useless now.
But something was gnawing at the back of her neck... it was going to be a long few months...
