Welcome to the RFS Character Creation Sourcebook. Listed below will be the simple step-by-step process to help you create a basic Genin or Chuunin character for Raising the Fighting Spirit. If you are creating a shinobi that is a Chuunin or above I would ask that you consult the Advanced Character Creation Sourcebook instead ^.^. If this is too complicated for you I suggest using the Basic Character Creator Databook Instead. Step One: Read the blank character sheet on the post below. Step Two: Look over the posts beneath that that go over each section of the character sheet for your convienance. Step Three: Fill out your Genin or Chuunin Application Step Four: PM the Application to Aria Mournesong Step Five: Wait for an Approval or Correction PM from me All rights to the info below belong to Aria Mournesong, it cannot be reproduced or reused without her permission ^_^.

Character Stats Note about Stats: Although it's required for you to have stats for your character if you prefer NOT to number crunch in a battle you and your team are not required to use them for combat. The reason these are created was so you can tell the strength/weaknesses of your character vs another persons. So if you wish to simply RP it out that's fine but use the stats as a guideline so Metagaming does not happen. (Please discuss how you wish to handle combat within your teams so that everyone is happy. The Chuunin Exams are the only exception to this rule, all matches must use the combat system.
Genin Starting Health: 50 Starting Chakra: 20 Starting Stamina: 50 Total Number of Creation Points: 20 Individual Stat-Cap of Points: 3 Attack: 5, Defense: 5
Chuunin Starting Health: 50 Starting Chakra: 25 Starting Stamina: 50 Total Number of Creation Points: 24 Individual Stat-Cap of Points: 5 Attack: 7, Defense: 7 Note: Stats highlighted in Orange can not be modified with Creation Points.
This is the only "complicated" part of the character application. As listed above you have 20 creation points to distribute among your stats. You may not spend more than 3 points on any one stat as a Genin. Listed below are what each of the stats do for your character.
Health - Represents the overall health and status of your character
Stamina - Represents the amount of stamina you have for actions and chakra creation
Chakra - Represents the maximum amount of chakra your body is able hold.
Intuition - Represents your IQ and awareness of your environment - Used vs Stealth Rolls & vs Genjutsu Rolls
Power - Represents your muscle strength of arms, legs, body - Used to determine the strength(damage) of physical based attacks - Used with the Defense Stat to catch or deflect attacks - Used with the Attack Stat for physical based attacks
Seal - Represents your efficiency and mastery of learning techniques - Used to determine what ranking of Jutsu you are able to use -- 1 through 2 points = D-Class Jutsu -- 3 through 4 points = C-Class Jutsu - Determines you Technique Post Delay (See "Rules of Combat, Techniques" for more information)
Speed - Represents agility of movement and reaction - Used with the the Defense Stat to avoid attacks - Used for determining a Counter-Attack
Stealth - Represents your ability to use your environment to your advantage - Used vs Intuition Rolls
Ninjutsu - Represents your knowledge & mastery of Ninjutsu techniques - Used along with Att/Def Rolls for Ninjutsu based attacks
Taijutsu - Represents your knowledge & mastery of Taijutsu techniques - Used along with Att/Def Rolls for Taijutsu based attacks
Genjutsu - Represents your knowledge & mastery of Genjutsu techniques - Used along with Att/Def Rolls for Genjutsu based attacks
Attack - Represents the overall offensive capability of your character
Defense - Represents the overall defensive capability of your character.

Technique Format When Applying: English name(Japanese Name)[Rank, Category, Type] Description from Databook
Rank: What level the Technique is at [E through C Class only] Category: What form of Technique it is [ Ninjutsu/Genjutsu/Taijutsu] Type: What does the Technique do [Offensive, Defensive, Supplementary, Healing or Summon]
Example: Kawarimi no Jutsu(Body Replacement Technique)][E-Class, Ninjutsu, Supplementary] This is a technique that usually confuses the attacker. The user quickly projects themselves with another nearby object such as a plant (normally a section of a log), an animal, or even another person within reach, leaving the opponent open to a counter-attack. In the anime, a straw man bundle, a boulder, mud, and even a scarecrow has been used as a Body Substitute Jutsu, though this may not be considered canon by few fans.
Starting Number of Techniques Genin: 3 Technique points Chuunin: 4 Technique points
Cost: 1 Technique point Each "normal" Technique does a standard amount of damage based on its rank(See the Techniques in Combat section of the Combat Databook). However, you may choose to make the Techniques better than normal by making them a Specialty or Trademark Technique.
Speciality Techniques See the Trademark and Specialty Databook for more information Each Technique Chosen as a Speciality Costs: 3 Technique points
Higher Ranked Techniques Cost: Add +1 Technique point(to the prices listed above) for every rank above the Shinobi's Seal Rating per high-level Technique. So if you wish to pick a C-class technique with a D-class Seal rating it will cost you TWO technique points rather than one.
Custom Techniques You are allowed to make your own techniques, however I would ask that you right a short description of what exactly the technique is capable of doing. Due to the maximum damage, chakra cost of techniques and chakra availabel to characters per shinobi rank you may choose what grade of Technique you create as well.
Gate-Based Techniques If you're making a custom made Technique that relies on the Gate system(that aren't in Databooks) please talk to me about them.
Summoning Techniques If you hadn't noticed in the Technique Databooks, Kuyichose no Jutsu(the Summoning Technique) is listed more than once. That is because the size of the Summon is determined by two factors: The maximum level contract you have signed(aka the Seal Rank), and how much Chakra is placed into the actual summoning. The Summons Attack & Defense is the same as a person's, based on their Summon Rank. Format: Summon Name, Animal, Element Stats Techniques Techniques Allowed: Each Summon has One Trademark Technique and One normal technique. They may gain additional Techniques as your character progresses.
Summon Chart D-Class: A very small animal Stat Points: 20 -Stats Restriction: No stat greater than 2 Cost: 1 Technique Point
C-Class: A small to medium sized animal Stat Points: 25 -Stats Restriction: No stat greater than 4 Cost: 2 Technique Point
B-Class: A large to human-sized animal Stat Points: 35 -Stats Restriction: No stat greater than 6 Cost: 3 Technique Points

Character Description This describes what your character looks like.
Acceptable - Links to a drawn image of your avatar - Typed descriptions that tell the details of how you look in a reasonable length
Unacceptable - "Looks like Avatar" - "Looks like Avatar except" or any other variation - Links to an image of a character from another anime - Gignormously long descriptions - Stupidly short descriptions, anything 1 - 2 sentences fall here
