"Why do I have to go?" Reiha asked with a sigh, "I don't want to impress Chel. Keep me out of your stupid dating crap." Reiha grumbled, mostly because she had bestowed the lowest of indegnities she had ever faced in her life.

Adain had put her in...a dress.

"Look Brat, I don't have much going for me kay? Not for long term meet the parents type of stuff." Adain looked away from the mirror, he wrote slacks and a collared shirt but after a few attempts at the tie he gave up. Besides he looked stupid in it. "You're one of the best things in my life Reiha, you prove that I'm stable enough to take care of someone else."

Reiha glared at her guadian for a long time, "Why is that important anyway? You make Chel smile that should be enough."

Adain laughed, "Sometimes I think you got a romantic lurking in your cynical heart Reiha, not much but sometimes. That's enough for Chel, but...it might not be for her parents."

"You mean you." Reiha mutered and glanced to the open window as Korbin came fluttering back, he purposely went to eat dinner early so he'd be there for Reiha. "You're scared you're not good enough to take care of her, which is stupid because she can take care of herself." Reiha walked over to the window as Korbin came in and looked over her.

"What the hell are you wearing?" Korbin asked as Reiha rolled her eyes and grumbled.

"Adain is being stupid again" Reiha explained as she pulled the crow into her arms. Her hair was down but pulled back with a green ribbion, the matching colored dress had white lace and Adain still managed to get her in pat and leather shoes and tights. Adain waited till Korbin was gone before he did so.

"Don't ruin her clothes Korbin, I just bought all thsi crap and we should keep it in case we ever go somewhere nice." Adain warned the pair as they exchanged nasties about him. At the moment he didn't care, so long they behaved.

Morianna
"and please promise to behave, dad.. He's very nervous." Chel said, finishing up the short lecture she was giving her parents outside of Adain's door.

"If he's that great he shouldn't have reason to worr...Ow!" The large tan man winced as he rubbed his arm where his wife had hit him. The much shorter woman, who shared most of Chel's facial features just glowered at him.

"I won't have you intimidating this poor boy, Stephen. I think it's wonderful that Ixchel has finally settled down and we should be supportive." She scolded before turning to her daughter and smiling. "I'm sure he's a lovely young man.

Chel smiled at her mother, but it didn't hide the worry in her features. Taking a deep breath, she knocked on Adain's door.

Flamefire123
Adain glanced at the door and took a very deep breath. They were here. Adain looked down to Reiha who was still complaining with Korbin and bent down in front of them both.

"Please be good, both of you. Please. I don't...People like Chel don't come into anyone'se life everyday. I don't wnat to mess it up." Adain begged quetly but seriously.

"Geez, just marry her already and put all of us out of misery." Reiha muttered as she held the bird close. She walked to the door before glancing back to Adain, "Don't worry, if they're nice I'll be nice" Reiha promised.

"They don't touch Reiha and I wont touch them." Korbin threatened but Adain just took it as an agreement. He nodded absently and went to the door, a little quiet after what Reiha said. He opened the door and smiled.

"Hey...Chel."

Morianna
"Hi Adain.." She said, unable to sight the smile on her face as she saw him. Her eyes flitted over his clothes and he felt herself swell up with pride.

Turning to her parents, she smiled. "Mama.. Dad. This is Adain.. Adain, this is my mom, Zaramama, and my dad, Stephen." She said, introducing them.

"Call me Zara, dear." Zara said quickly, smiling at Adain broadly from her husbands side. Stephen looked, less than pleased, but he grunted out a hello anyways.

Flamefire123
"Hi Mr. and Mrs. Belmonte." Adain grined embaressedly as he leaned over to take both their hans. The grunted hello made him pale a bit but he kept his smile in place before he glanced down to Reiha.

"Uhhh, this is my kid, Reiha, and her bird Korbin." Adain introduced, blushed a bit but smileing still. "Reiha came to me on a train one day and well...kinda been taking care of her ever sense. Or...she takes care of me. Kinda depends on how you look at it."

"No it doesn't." Reiha muttered and rolled her eyes but put out a hand and with manners Adain didn't know she possesed as she gave them a polite smile, "Nice to meet you Zara and Stephen."

Morianna
"It's nice to meet you too, Reiha and Korbin." Zara said, obviously impressed by Reiha and smiling widely at her. Stephen looked, mildly impressed but didn't say anything until Zara jabbed him in the ribs.

"Ow.. Uh well.. We should get going to dinner." He said, rolling his eyes. He obviously did not want to be here.

Chel frowned at him, before moving to Adain's side. "It'll be alright.. You've already won over Mama.." She whispered in his ear before planting a soft kiss on his cheek.

Flamefire123
Adain smiled from the kiss and his arm went around her easily. He just liked the way his arm fit around her. He blushed a bit though at what she said. Won over mom? Why? He hadn't done anything.

"Well, Um...I got a nice place to go." Not Lance nice but it would be fine and he made sure thier table would be more private. "Should I drive?"

"Stop being so nervous." Reiha said casually and walked forward, "They walked of course we're taking your car." Reiha pulled open the door and shifted her way into the middle, sure that is where she should belong as the smallest person.

Adain blushed a bit, and glanced between the three people, "She...has a big mouth and no fear." That wasn't exactly true. Reiha had a lot of fear, maybe that's why she didn't far social embaressment, she knew their were a lot better things to fear than being embaressed.

Morianna
Stephen waved him off, following Reiha. "The kids got spunk." He said. The first positive comment all night. Zara smiled and nodded in agreement, following Stephen as they took the back seat, one at each side.

Chel was smiling broadly now at her father's words and moved her hand to Adain's, holding it tightly. Things were going well. "Reiha's behaving fine, don't worry so much." She told him softly.. "Though you'll have to tell me later what sort of bribe you pulled to get her in that dress. She doesn't seem the type.. She said smiling, and slipping into the front seat.

Flamefire123
Adain smiled, relaxing a bit as he muttered, "It was more brute force." as he went to the driver's seat, starting the car up and driving down the road as he glanced in the back seat to see her parents again.

"So...um...How long are you guys in town?" Adain asked awkwardly, trying to start a conversation rolling. Reiha rolled her eyes at him but then looked over at the parents on ether of her side.

"Have you guys met Berial yet? He's my best friend friend." Reiha said proudly as she stroked Korbin. "Besides Korbin of course. I've know Korbin for as back as I could remember. He always understands me."

Reiha figured if she kept some conversation going Adain could relax a bit. he was getting far to excited over this.

Morianna
"Only a week." Stephen replied gruffly before his attention was diverted by Reiha and he nodded.

"Erik's boy?" When she received confirmation from her husband that it was she continued. "Oh yes. He was a complete darling.. Though those marks.." She trailed off, worry obvious in her tone.

"He's a fine specimen indeed." Stephen said, looking down at Korbin. "Very healthy. You've been taking good care of him."

Chel smiled as her parents were taken in by Reiha's conversation. She was a brilliant girl. Chel would have to pay her back for this somehow.

Flamefire123
Reiha frowned a bit as she brought up the marks and then Reiha shrugged a bit as she held Korbin a bit closer. "Berial is the sweetest guy I know. Sweeter than Korbin but no one can replace Korbin. Erik is also teaching me magic" Reiha figured they be interested since Erik was theirs too.

Korbin glanced up to Stephan as did Reiha who beamed at him. Adain stared as he realized Chel's father just got father with Reiha in under five minutes than he did in five months....Life wasn't fair.

"Thanks, I try, but he mostly takes care of himself. He's actually the one who takes care of me. He protects me, and stays close to me and makes sure that I never feel scared or alone. He's very special. I'm so lucky to have him." REiha said softly, holding Korbin closer, who nuzzled her softly.

"I'm the lucky on Reiha." He almost cooed.

Morianna
Chel's mother's lips pursed into a worried frown. "Magic is awfully dangerous.. Erik gets hurt all the time, the poor thing.." She opened her mouth to continued but Stephen made a waving motion with his hand and interrupted her. "The girl's obviously bright enough not to get herself into trouble when practicing magic. Don't baby her, Zara."

Chel said nothing, leaving them to their own devices as she smiled from her seat, looking over at Adain and beaming at him, waiting until she caught his eye before mouthing. "I'll make this all up to you later.." She said adding a small wink..

Flamefire123
Reiha glanced up at Zara, then gave her a comforting smile, "Don't worry, Berial made me promise to never to magic without someone, besides Korbin, in the room with me. He doesn't want me hurt. I've only been hurt a little, no big deal, no bigger hurt than I would be if I did sports or something and sports can't help me fly." Reiha's goal was clear. She'd practice magic till she learned and could do a flight spell.

Adain glanced at Chel, then smiled (blushing a bit) but smiling none the less as he caught what she said. He was going to make this work. He finally ahd something worth fighting for in tihs realtionship. Though Reiha so clearly charming her parents couldn't hurt him right? At least she hadn't said anything insulting about him...yet. Oh please Reiha, know that much tact.

Morianna
Zara smiled broadly at this reassurance and nodded. "And I'm sure Erik will make a very good teacher. He's quite intelligent." She said proudly. She was very proud of her nephew and how far he had come.

"Not as smart as our Ixchel though."Stephen cut in with a gruff laugh. Chel could have groaned. "We have different specialties, Dad.." She said, as if it were a well rehearsed answer.

"Of course. Of course." Stephen said waving his hand as if he'd heard and disregarded this answer a thousand times before. "So, Adain, what's your specialty? Ixchel never told us."

Chel paled at this. She hadn't lied to her parents about Adain, but the subject of his work simply hadn't come up. Of course they'd assume he was some sort of scientist. Stephen was a marine biologist, Zara was an archeologist. Her aunt and uncle (Erik's parents) had both been scientist as well.

Flamefire123
Adain blushed, not because he was ashamed of his job but just because his mind took that question and took it too a completely wrong path. Sex flashed though his mind and jumped to his tounge before he knew what was heppening, luckily he managed to trap it before he made an utter fool of himself.

"Specialty?" Adain asked slowly, not entierly getting what he wanted to know. Lance was up front about wanting to know what he job was.

Reiha, always being a bit quicker on the draw glanced between the two parents, and then snickered a little. "I think they wnat to know your feild of study Adain."

Well that didn't help, "Feild of study? I don't study. I lift boxes for Durem Deport, the largest shiping compeny in Gaia. I empty warehouses into trucks."

Morianna
Zara's slight surprise was almost imperceptible compared to Stephen's. His jaw dropped in shock and it took him a few seconds to recover. "You lift boxes?" He asked, his tone a mix of shock and anger.

Chel closed her eyes at the tone as if it had hurt. She hadn't expected him to react like that. "Dad.." She started, but Stephen cut her off.

"I thought you said you were serious about this boy, Ixchel?" He said, ignoring glares from Zara, who seemed to have come to terms with it. Chel's eyes sparked and she turned around to face her father.

"I AM serious about him, Dad." She said fiercely. She hadn't expected this of her father and she was hurt.

"Lifting boxes.. That's barely a job, let alone a career." He seemed to ignore Chel's words as he continued. "You need someone with stability. Like that Lance boy, not some bum you picked up in a bar. OWW!"

Stephen's angry words were cut of as Zara reached over and thwapped him soundly. Chel's cheeks were flushed with fury and she looked positively murderous. "Stephen! It doesn't matter what his job is. He.."

"It's alright, Mama."Chel said suddenly, turning away to face the road. She looked angry, and hurt and about to hit someone or cry, or both.. "I didn't invite him to judge. His opinion doesn't matter." Stephen actually flinched at Chel's cutting tone.

Flamefire123
Adain didn't flip out, he kept his eyes at the road and quietly drove. He was surpised at how that hurt. People didn't normally....attack him like that. Reiha called him stupid but he always felt that was different. That was her attempt to feel...powerful in a world where she was very weak. Besides...he was stupid, he knew that. Maybe he wasn't an idiot but he wasn't as smart as most. Certainly not as smart as Reiha or Chel, both whom seem to be smarter than average. He was more...Berial's level proably, as sad as it was to admit.

He pulled up to the resturant and stoped the care, carefully unbuckling his steabelt before he turned around. Adain was never a coward and he promised himself he'd never let anyone make him feel like s**t again. Even Chel's father.

"I lift boxes." he told the man quietly, looking him straight in the eyes. "It's not a carrer, but it's a job and it's one I can do well. I manage to own a house and support a kid with that job. Maybe I'm not rich but I've never had to say no to Reiha because I couldn't afford something. Most of that is because Reiha doesn't ask for expensive stuff but still. I like my job and honestly it's one of the best things I can do. I'm not smart, not nearly as smart as Chel, or Erik. I never did well in school, and I never wanted too. But I'm happy Mr. Belmonte, and I make Chel happy, or at least I try too. I'm not perfect, not even close, but I'll walk though fire for those I love." Adain sighed once then got out of the car, his body hunched a bit as he walked to the resturant.

Reiha watched the whole thing silent and then she looked up to Stephen, "They met at Erik's. Erik trusts Adain." Was all she said as she climbed up into the front seat and went out Adain's door, not really walking up to him but followng a bit closely behind. Adain reached out and rubbed her head. Reiha wasn't loving, but she was steady. Right now that's all Adain really needed.

Morianna
Chel didn't say a word to her father, but stepped out of the car, quickly going to Adain's side. "I'm sorry about that. I didn't expect it." She said. She was obviously upset at her father's words.. She didn't each to touch Adain because.. she wasn' sure he wanted her too right now. "His opinion really doesn't matter.. I could care less what your job is, or what your IQ is.. Those things don't matter to me.. You matter to me.." She said before turning away, feeling awkward. It was her fault he had been attacked like that afterall. "thought you might want to know." She added in a soft voice.

Inside the car, Zara was thoroughly ringing Stephen out. "Where are your manners?! He's a perfectly nice boy and Ixchel LIKES him! Who cares what his job is? You should be HAPPY for Ixchel. Not trying to drive the boy away from her!" and with that she stormed from the car. Stephen sat there for a moment rushing his fingers through his hair, before he got out silently and trailed behind the group.

Flamefire123
Adain turned to Chel, reaching over and grabed her hand and then smiled at her, a bit sadly but it was a smile. He wraped his hand around hers and just pulled her closer, "I never thought differently Chel." He promised, reaching up to stroke her cheek, feeling that kissing her would be a mistake because of the audience. "I know you've never looked down on me, and I thank you for that, for never even thinking of it." Adain smiled then glanced to her parents.

"I think Zara just yelled at Stephen" Reiha snickered a bit as she petted Korbin, thinking about what they said. Money shouldn't mean that much. She knew that Adain worked hard but he never complained about it, he just worked and delt with it. He proably didn't like it ether. Who really wanted to lift boxes?

"Hmmph, he shouldn't let his mate talk like that." Korbin muttered a bit but Reiha rolled her eyes.

"It doesn't work that way with people Korbin. Besides, he deserved it. You just want to take his side because he complimented you." Reiha countered as she turned to walk into the resturant, she was hungry and the dress was itchy.

Morianna
Chel smiled at Adain's words ad gestures, leaning into his hand as he brushed her cheek with closed eyes and a bright smile. Zara elbowed Stephen for him to watch and even he had to grudgingly admit.. that he had very rarely seen Ixchel that happy, especially with a boy.

"I love you.." Chel whispered softly to him as they stayed close. Both and Stephen and Zaramama couldn't help the slight widening of their eyes as the whisper floated to them.

Catching up with the group, Zara beamed at Adain as she followed Reiha inside. Stephen looked at him briefly, up and down then up again, before speaking. "Let's get inside.. You two can have privacy later.." His tone wasn't angry and Chel was smiling as she was quite sure that was a coded "I'm sorry".

Flamefire123
Adain smiled a bit and wished desperate that he could answer back, but he couldn't. So he just sighed a bit and hugged her tight. He would make her happy, one way or another. He just wished, sometimes, that he was really worthy of the love she kept on giving him to him.

When Stephen spoke up though Adain blushed and backed off a bit, rubbing the bac of his head as he looked over her father. At least he didn't seem mad anymore.

"Yes Sir. I hope you like the resturant, it's kinda a simple dinner sorta place, but I'm buying." he said firmly. It was the least he could do, buy.

"Adain! Get in here and tell this woman that Korbin is allowed in here!" Reiha's voice came from behind the door where the little girl was argueing with a waitress, who was trying to get Korbin but both bird and girl were struggling against it.

"Oh s**t." he groaned and raced in. "Reiha you said you'd behave." he whined.

On Cloud Nine

Adain was pacing his room again. All the drama in the past months had seemed to lead up to this single moment. The moment where he realized that he needed to stop dinking around and make a real stand wiht his life. Adain had his fun, since he graduated he basically been playing around, going though girl after girl, enjoying life.

Then Reiha entered his life and everything just started to change. Not get worse, just change. Before Reiha he would have never pegged himself for fatherhood but despite her bitchy additude Adain found he...he liked it, and now...now he had a chance a real chance but...

The man forced himself to sit. Writing everything down made the thoughts leave his head and allow himself to get more organized. He opened up his jouranl document and dated it, taking a deep breath as one clear thought rose above the half made plans and half believed dreams.

I love her.

Chel has only been in my life for a short time, very short but I know I love her. I had been balking badly, and I regret every minute of that. Not because I wish I could have spent it holding her and saying 'I love you' though that's true too but because it hurt Chel and I hate to do that. Everything that happened before, it all lead up to this.

Meeting her parents was soso. Her mom seemed nice but the father didn't seem to aprove of my job, but I stood my ground and Chel stood up for me. Stephen, the father, even kind of apologized, and we had a perfectly awkward dinner. The stuff her father said though, it really made me think. I knew I had to make a desicion with Chel, I couldn't keep leading her along letting her hope for more if there never would be.

But there was, is. She started working with Lance, which I have to admit, got me a little riled up, but now I'm just thankful for it. They went on a trip together and that made me very uncomfortable, but thank god Lance was there. He ended up getting sick and possibly saving Chel's life by stopping her from getting on a plane that ended up crashing.

That's when I knew. When I thought I lost her I...I almost lost it. I was ready to crack when I finally realized why. I loved her. I love Chel. I wanted to tell her when she called to let us know she'd be late but I didn't make it to the phone in time. Now I'm glad though. I want the moment to be perfect. I made her wait so long, a little more can't hurt. I need to know all my feelings. I need to know that I want too. I think...I think I want it all. Marriage, house, kids, the whole nine yards, with Chel.

God...that sounds nice. But I need to make sure the moments right. Besides I need to make sure everyone is okay with it. There's more to worry about than just me. I have Reiha to think about and I want to check with Chel's family. Not her dad, her dad would say no, but maybe Erik, yeah, he's like a brother which is sorta dad like. I think I'll ask him, then Reiha to see what they think.

First I'd need a ring...

Adain saved and closed up as he started to paln. He had a lot of planing left to do and he had to work that around work, and figure out a lot of things. Adain stood up as he started to pace again, whole new thoughts and ideas in his head, ones that made him grin in a rather stupid fashion. A grin that meant he was in love.

The Two Women in His Life

Adain placed ice cream in front of Reiha as she started to slip back to her room. She stoped and looked up at Adain suspiously. He didn't normally give her ice cream unless he was in a super good mood. Which honestly he had been lately. He kept on forgetting what he was doing while he was doing it, and would just...stand there with a stupid grin on his face. God knew what made him so damn happy. Reiha hadn't see Chel around lately so she didn't know what was going on.

"I want to ask you something." Adain mentioned and confirmed Reiha's suspiousions about the ice cream. With a 'go ahead' shrug the girl crawled back into her chair and started to eat her bribe. She might as well enjoy it since Adain would just follow her up to her room anyway. "What do you think about Chel?" Adain asked a little nervous, looking down at that critical girl. While Adain couldn't let Reiha run his life at the same time could he really force her to live with someone she hated?

"I dunno, she's nice I geuss." Reiha shrugged a bit as she glanced up at him, remembering all those stupid grins. She gave him another suspious look, "Why?"

Adain gave her a nervous grin, still rubbing his hands as he took a deep breath. He reached down and pulled the ring box from his pocket, placing it in front of Reiha, opening it up to revel the simple gold band with the rather small diamond. Lifting boxes paid alright but not good for that big of a diamond.

"I'm going to ask Chel to marry me. I asked Erik and Scruffy, and they approve, Scruffy actually made me feel pretty confident about it." Adain admited, rubbing the back of his head, "But if we do get married she'd be living with us, and we'll proably have some kids, which means little siblings for you." Adain watching Reiha, trying to see how she felt about it.

"About time." Reiha muttered, taking a big bite of her ice cream, "I was wondering when you'd do that. Maybe now you two will stop making puppy eyes at each other and forcing me into dresses." Reiha added a small glare at that. She truely did despise dresses.

Adain started to chuckle, then it turned into a laugh and before long he was cracking up. He had been worried all day about Reiha's answer, and she just complained about being told to wear a dress. God he would never be able to preditic him.

"You'll have to wear a dress for the wedding." Adain warned, making Reiha sigh as she droped her spoon into her now empty bowl, shoving it at him.

"Jerk." she told him as she jumped down from the chair. "Can I go to my room now?"

"Yeah, go ahead." Adain said with a grin as he grabed the bowl, going to rise it off. Now he just had to call Chel up and make the date so he could propose. It was all falling into place.

Flamefire123
Adain waited till that weekend, so his new found confidence wouldn't disapear on him. He called up Chel, to excited to really talk as he merely begged that he meet her at the gambino beach, so they could talk. He arived twenty minutes early and was pacing again. Reiha was at Erik's and Adain went to her too, wondering if he could have her blessing too. He saw the question confused her but she wasn't against it.

So now the only person left to ask was...Chel.

Morianna
Chel was nervous, to say the least. After the distant behavior he'd been showing a talk, in her mind, could only mean one thing.

Adian was leaving her.

The thought twisted at Chel's insides and she half considered not going. She could drop him before he did her, but she couldn't. So that's how she ended up on Gambino beach, her shoes in her hands as she felt dread as she walked closer to Adain.

"Adian. You.. you said you wanted to talk?"

Flamefire123
Adain watched her walk forward, so wraped up in his feelings he missed her own. He had to tell her, it would make her so happy, to take that step, she was dying for it, he knew that.

"Yeah, I did." he took her hands before taking a deep breath, then another, "I have to admit Chel, this is more than a little hard to say. Everything seemed to be going really well between us but when I met Lance it got me to start thinking, then stuff your dad said kinda kicked me down but I knew you didn't feel that way. But once you started working with Lance...well it made me take a long hard look at our realtionship and I realized something, it was..horrible. On the surface it was great, easy sex, easy companionship, easy everything, but realtionships aren't suppose to be easy, and love sure as hell isn't." Adain laughed a little, and shook his head.

"Anyway, when I thought..." Adain swallowed but forced himself to continue, "When I thought I lost you...I...well it made me realize somethings, like how I truely feel about you and how this realtionship just isn't working. So I'm going to fix it."

Adain got down on one knee, still holding her hands and pulled out his ring box, looking up at her as he held up the opened box. "Share your life with me? Give me your forever? So I may share my life and give you my forever?

Morianna
In the movies, Chel had always seem the women starts to cry once the proposal had been made. The tears started before he even got on his knees for her.

He was leaving her. Their relationship wasn't working. It was just easy sex.. The words stabbed at her and she couldn't help the tears that came down her face. She had been about to interrupt him, to tell him she agreed that they shouldn't keep seeing each other when he got down to one knee.

And he proposed.

Chel's brain was blown. She stood staring at him for almost a full minute, her cheeks tear-stained. She looked down at the ring. A real ring.. from Adian to her.. but the distance.. His speech..

"so.. so you aren't leaving?" Was all she could manage. Her brain had been totally blown.

Flamefire123
Now it was Adian's turn to beconfused and more than a little fear lurked in his eyes as she didn't say yet right away he didn't move, in fear that if he did she'd loose the romantic gesture and say no or something. God this sucked, he was glad he did this privately, that way nethir of them got embaressed.

"Why would I leave you?" he asked, honestly confused, "Chel, no one has ever offered me so much for so little. For a while I was so happy that you allowed me to coast and then I realized while I was happy in this realtionship you couldn't be. You were in love and yet I wouldn't love you back, that's what got me thinking. The last thing in the world I wanted to do was hurt you, but if I had to hurt you I'd rather do it in a way that didn't hold you back. But when I thought...when the plane crashed...God that was awful, I thought I lost you and I was hating myself for not holding you closer while i had the chance and...that's when I realized that I...love...you." Adain said quietly, realizing he proably should have said that first.

"When you called, right after we heard the news...I was going to tell you then and there but I couldn't find the phone, and after you hung up I realized my mistake. I didn't want to make the same one I made with Susan, not for me, but for you. I wasn't going to get down on my knee unless I was offering you forever, because you deserver forever, and more. And the...when i realized I did want forever I had to do it right, I wouldn't mess it up. I know I was distent but it was only because I was so preocupied with making this moment perfect....And i didn't do a good job did I..." Adain finnished off with a blush but held the ring up anyway.

"Will you take this stupid love sick man to be with you forever?"

Morianna
Chel stared at him throughout his speech, but at the end her lips curled into a smile. "I.. of course.." She said softly, still shocked. He was proposing! He wasn't leaving her at all. He was giving her forever.

"Of course I'll marry you."

Flamefire123
Adain grined and jumped up, wraping one arm around her as he diped her down for a roamntic kiss, slipping his ring onto her finger. She was his now, for now and forever.

Take that Lance, and Stephen, and anyone else who disaproved.

They were going to make it!

Adain staighted his clothes a little before he bent down to straight Reiha's clothes. She struggled against him and the nice outfit he was trying to keep clean and neat. He never was this picky before but now he was finally showing off his two new girls to his family and while Adain was confident his father and sister would love both of them.

"Okay you guys, they should be here soon." Adain said quietly, standing up. he wasn't obviously dressed up, but he wore his nicer jeans and a collared shirt. Adain turned to grin brighty at Chel. He been smiling like that since she said yes.

Reiha was getting a little sick of it, "How come everytime you want to impress someone I get stuck into this dress?" Reiha asked as she tugged on the gree dress that brought out her sullen eyes. Her hair was brushed and pulled back with a matching ribbion. Korbin was in her arms at least. Adain didn't even try to fight that. After all the family had to meet Korbin too.

"because I'm a mean and cruel person." Adain replied casually. "And because as your guardian you're my basic slave, and when we're done with this you'll fan me with a leaf."

"Ha-Ha" Reiha snaped sarcasticly, glaring at her guardian before glancing to Chel quietly. At least she finally got the rock, she was sick of them dating, so anoying to deal with. Now the drama could finally end.

Morianna
Chel smiled back at Adian, laughing at his last comment. She was a little nervous about meeting the family, but what was done was done. He had already proposed afterall.

"Personally I think that once we're done with this Reiha will use this as leverage to get what she wants from you. Don't play with fire, Adian." She said jokingly.

Flamefire123
"Oh the brat already got me to sit in on her magic practice and promising to not move or talk." Adain told Chel, reaching for her hand a little. "Doesn't want interuption or to break her promise to Berial." Adain told Chel.

Reiha rolled her eyes as she held Korbin closer. Weirdos, Reiha turned away though she glanced over her shoulder. They seemed happy at least, well...Chel looked a little nervous but Chel seemed to be scared of stupid things to Reiha.

Who cared what Adain's family thought? It didn't change how Adain felt or acted.

And with that thought there was a knock at the door. Adain grined as he headed straight to the door. He threw it open and engulfed the man out of it in a big unconcious hug. No back slaping, or loud yelling, no attempts to prove to the outside world that they weren't gay, just a good, strong hug. And soon Adain turned to hug a pretty young girl, few years younger than him.

"Dad! Tana! It's so great to see you."

Morianna
Chel stood there for a moment, smiling. She was never as close to her family as Adian seemed to be. Sure she got along well with her parents, but they never really had a strong bond.

Stepping forward Chel managed a small, slightly nervous smile. "Hello, Mr. Blair. Tana. It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Ixchel." She wanted to add Adian's fiance to the end of that, but it seemed unncessary.

Flamefire123
Adair pulled back and went to Chel's side. He grabed her hand and then reached over to touch Reiha's head, but she ducked under his hand to avoid his touch.

"Here are my girls. Chel, my fiancee, and Reiha, my kid. Who woudda thought?" Adain asked his family with a laugh.

The two red heads stared at their single family member. Atticus looked a lot like Adain, tall and lanky, with some gray in hair and a few lines around his eyes and lips. He was a man of powerful highs and lows. Next to him, a pixie of a girl. She was a small person compared to her tall family members. Her red hair was inching to brown but a beautiful auburn color, her eyes a bright strong blue that scaned over Chel with suspious distence.

"Uh...wow...Adain." Tana said slowly, glancing over to Reiha too.

"This is great!" Atticus said happily, grining as he moved over to hug Chel, "I was thinking you were gonna die a bachalor son." And from Atticus tone he was happy to be proven wrong. "And look, aren't you a cutey." Atticus bent down to look into Reiha's eyes, "You got Blair eyes."

"I'm not a Blair." Reiha said shortly, looking at the man suspiciously, then the girl. "This is Korbin." She introduced, holding up the bird.

"Handsome fellow." Atticus mentioned and reached for Korbin.

"Dad don't-" Adair started when Atticus petted Korbin carefully, before standing up.

"Polite too."

Morianna
Chel was almost shocked when Atticus came over and hugged her, but she reacted quick enough and managed to give him a brief hug back before he moved on to Reiha.

Chel fought a giggle as Korbin allowed himself to be petted. He was probably just doing that to annoy Adian.

"He doesn't like a lot of people. " She explained. She wouldn't be surprised if the only person Korbin really liked was Reiha. People like Berial and Atticus were simply tolerated.

Flamefire123
Reiha glanced down at Korbin, a little confused, he merely fluffed his feather and sent a birdy smirk to Reiha who smiled slightly. Then glanced at Adain who was glaring at Korbin and then sighed.

"b*****d bird." he muttered, and recived a small slap from Atticus.

"Don't swear in front of your little girl." Atticus ordered quicky.

"I've heard worse." Reiha started slowly, and Atticus raised his hand again, "Not from Adian." she added quickly. "Korbin curses up a storm."

Morianna
Chel couldn't fight the laugh now as Atticus reprimanded him. Looking over them all, she smiled. Things were going well, much better than when Adian met her parents.

"I don't think we need to stand here in the doorway all day." She said. "Maybe we should go to the living room?" She offered.

Flamefire123
"Yeah, good idea, I made a good meal for later too." Adain mentioned as he took Chel's hand and then lead his family to the living room.

"So...uh...Chel, how long have you and Adain been...dating?" Tana asked quietly, keeping her eyes on Chel, Adain sat next to Chel as he streached his arm around Chel tightly. Tana never seen Adain act this way with a girl before expect...well Susan....

Morianna
"Around 8 months.." She said smiling, leaning into Adian as he put his arm around her. "We met through my cousin. Reiha and Berial, his boy, are friends." She explained, though she wans't sure why. Perhaps to avoid any awkward silences.

Flamefire123
"Berial is my best friend besides Korbin." Reiha told everyone as she sat, stroking the bird quietly as she looked around. She noticed the way Tana was staying at Chel, wonderng why.

"Wow, really fast Adain." Tana said quietly, looking at her brother who was smiling happily. Everyone he loved all together, nothing could make the boy happier.

"Yep, it was just right." Adain said quietly. "Chel has been special from the begining. Lucky for me she was willing to wait for me."

Morianna
Chel wanted to say something sappy but she was torn between the desire to say it, and the desire to not make as a fool of herself in front of his family.

"You were worth the wait." She finally said, smiling over at him..

Flamefire123
Adain blushed a little as he leaned in to give her a kiss. "Tana...I don't want you to worry." Adain said quietly, looking over her. "Chel is nothing like Susan."

Tana blinked a little at what Adian said and part o fher her relaxed a little. Adain was smarter than he acted most of the time, he understood those who he loved, and their fears.

"Oh well, so...uh...what do you do Chel?" Tana asked next.

"She's a scientist" Reiha said quietly, kinda bored since Chel was under ingergation.

"Wow, scientist? What do you do?"

Morianna
Chel brightened at the mention of ehr work. It was familiar ground and therefore good. "I'm a mathematician. I work mainly with probabilities and other things that are a bit to big for computers." She said proudly. She loved her job.

Flamefire123
Atticus and Tana both stared at her. "You're a mathematician?" Tana gasped, "Adain barely passed algebra."

Adain blushed slightly, "Yeah, well, it's not like she needs me for work. Actually, she makes good money, can support me." Adain laughed softly, "Good thing the bride's family pays for the wedding. Chel deserves something better than I can afford for our marriage."

"Deserve?" Tana repeated. He used that word with Susan too. Of course the difference between Susan and Chel was that Adain was deciding what Chel deserved, while Susan made him believe it.

Morianna
Chel frowned slightly. Everyone made sucha big deal that they had such different jobs. Lance, her parents and now this.

"I don't deserve or need or want anything more than you, Adian." She said sternly. They had been through this, but sometimes he jsut couldn't get his head around the idea that she wanted HIM and only him.

Flamefire123
"I don't see why you can't have more than me though." Adian pointed out easily, grining wolfishly. "I plan on taking some stuff from you, like kids." he teased, tickling her sides a little.

"Wait! Kids? Like...little babies running around?" Reiha asked, holding up her hand, just trying to get attention. "Can you handle that Adain?"

Adain shrugged, "Kids isn't about handling Reiha, it's about...teaching and enjoying them. Besides, I always thought that if I got married I'd do it all the way, kids, hot wife, till death do you part. The whole sheebang."

Morianna
Chel seemed to pale a bit at the idea of kids. She wans't sure she was ready for it.. if she'd ever be ready. She was crazy. How could she make a good mother.. But she kept the doubts to herself and jsut smiled weakly.

"Maybe it's a bit too early to start thinking about kids yet." She said, trying to keep her tone light.

Flamefire123
Adain opened his mouth to say thoughts were just thoughts when he stoped and noticed Chel's parlor. "Are you okay?" he asked worried, taking her hand and moved closer, looking over his face, "Are you feeling okay?"

Reiha rolled her eyes, "Geez, Adain, she's just scared, not that unusal. She's a little young for kids." Reiha replied shortly, though Reiha suspected it might have to do with Chel's ego problem about her mental problem but she wasn't that blunt.

"You both are." Tana mentioned, "You should proably wait a few more years."

"It's not about age, it's about love." Atticus argued, shaking his head. It was obvious where Adain got his otimistic stoburn additdue. "When you're really in love...kids are just natural."

Morianna
Chel jsut smiled briefly at Reiha and Tana before turning to Adian. "I'm feeling fine, Adian." She said, giving his hand a small squeeze. She didn't want to tell him, and especially not in front of all these people.

Flamefire123
"Well...if you're sure...we should start dinner soon." Adain realized and stood up. "I'll just get it started now, it shouldn't take that long you guys. Reiha, how about you tell everyone about you?" Adain proposed as he left the room to start up the half prepared dinner.

reiha glanced at the two people and shrugged a litle, "I like reading and learning. I hate alcohol, and Adain is really annoying. i'm learning magic right now though thanks to Erik, Chel's cousin. Berial is my best friend."

"You do magic?" Atticus asked, surpised, "I wouldn't mind seeing that, would you show me?"

Reiha glanced at Atticus, then nodded, "Sure, I promised Berial that I wouldn't ever do it alone, just follow me upstairs." Reiha ordered casually as she jumped from her seat and started to head up to her room.

"Comming Tana?" Atticus asked, looking over to his young daughter, so much like his late wife.

"Maybe later, I'd like to talk with Chel for a little bit, get to know the new woman in Adain's life." Tana said with a smile to her father, who nodded and started to follow Reiha upstairs. Reiha paused and looked back at Chel, then shrugged. Chel would just have to take care of herself.

Morianna
"Remember your pronunciation." Chel called after Reiha. Erik had had so many nasty incidents because of bad pronunciation that she had learned to warn ahead. It was just habit.

Turning back to Tana she smiled at her. "So.. Tana. What do you do?" She said, trying to spark conversation.

Flamefire123
"I will." Reiha said slowly as she lead Atticus up the stairs. Atticus smiled as he reached for Reiha but pulled his hand back when Korbin crowed kind of loudly. He had no use to let Atticus touch Reiha now that it wouldn't annoy Adian.

Tana waited till her father was up the stairs before she looked back to Chel. " I'm a college student. I'm going to become and English professor someday." Tana said firmly, before looking over to the kitchen. "Adain skiped college too make sure I could afford to go. Then again I doubt he would have made it, we were all kinda surpised when he graduated high school on time. School was never for him. I geuss that's why your job really surpises me. I got to wonder what my brother sees in a mathmatician."

Morianna
"I wonder what he sees in me sometimes too.." She said staring at her hands, or more specifically, her ring. "He's great, your brother.. I'm very lucky to have met him.." She said honestly.

Flamefire123
Tana raised an eyebrow. She had to admit, she didn't expect that answer. "So..uh...how did you avoid being a one night stand?" Tana asked, genuinely interested. "Adain hasn't been into realtionships since highschool." And Susan. Tana wondered if Adain told Chel about Susan, she felt it should come up but Adain was so random sometimes.

Morianna
"Well.." She had to think about that.. "I'd like to say it was when I was kidnapped. My and my cousin, Erik, were and Adian and Reiha came to the rescue." It seemed almost humorous in retrospect.

"But I think it happened because of Susan." She looked up at Tana. "He's told you about her, right?"

Flamefire123
Tana was staring by now. "You were kidnaped? Well...that does help. Adain loves being the hero." Tana admited and looked over her shoulder till Chel mentioned Susan.

"I was there when it happened." Tana said shortly, frowning a little, but obviously thinking of the first time. "Do you mean...when Adain saw her again? He e-mailed me that he saw her again but didn't get into it."

Morianna
"She worked at my firm. Adian saw her again and.. well.. it wasn't pretty. I was lucky, I guess. That I managed to snap him out of it and I guess that's when it happened."

She was frowning at the memory of how he had been. "She tried to break us apart too. Said I'd lose my job if Adian didn't leave me."

Flamefire123
Tana frowned, "So she hadn't changed a bit, pitty, I was hoping she fell into a hole and died." Tana groweled violently, she was obviously very protective of her brother.

"All my life Adain always just grins when people step on him, then they try to do the same for his friends or family so he actually uses his backbone but...I just wish he'd stand up for himself. He wont ever mistreat you, but you can easly mistreat him."

Morianna
"He takes good care of me." Chel said, looking at Tana seriously. "and I do my best tot take care of him too." She said, and she meant it. She wanted Tana to know that Adian really did matter to her. That she wouldn't hurt him on purpose.

Flamefire123
Tana stared at the girl for a long time than nodded, "I don't know you...but I suppose that Adian wouldn't trust you if you were someone special, it's just weird, he lived his life the way for year and now he has a kid, and is engaged." Tana shook her head but rose. "Well this will make Dad happy at least."

As Tana spoke there was suddenly a large BOOM from up stairs. Adain looked out from the kitchen, looking worried when Reiha's voice came from upstairs.

"Sorry! No one is hurt!" Soon Reiha and Atticus walked down the stairs, covered in blue powder which Reiha was trying to brush off Korbin as well. "I made a little mistake with my drawing, don't worry, nothing dangerous." Reiha asured the crowd.

"Well it certianly was a learning experience." Atticus laughed, brushing himself off as well before glancing between the girls. "My little girl isn't intergogating you is she?" Atticus asked Chel, patting her back, "Tana is just over protective of her big brother."

"Uh...I know how to take care of my self." Adain pointed out, but Atticus just laughed.

"No man can take care of himself better than a woman can take care of him." Atticus told his son.
