Being such a crazed Avatar fan as I am, I tend to rant quite a bit about what peeves me. None of my friends are Avatar fans, and my mother is getting sick of hearing my rants, so I figured I would post them here where there's other freaks like me who understand.
Note: If you are gonna preach about how people shouldn't be negative, leave now. Avatar is an AMAZING show, but there are some things people just want to rant about. So just let us rant, kay?

The Nickelodeon Rant
Nickelodeon is prehaps the most agrivating cartoon station on this earth. With all the stupid little things they have, like the Slime Time Live and crap like that, it spoils something that should be great. I missed the first ten minutes of The Cave of Two Lovers because the Slime Time thing screwed the time up. And when Kids Choice Awards was on, even just the stupid crap leading up to it, it sliced into Avatar time. At least they stopped with the slime time thing, but now they have all these "Nick Extra" things that just make me want to barf. Not to mension the fact that nick.com and several things in the "extra" stuff has deliberatly called Zuko "evil" and "a stuck up prince" That's just not right! I mean, if your own father burned off half your face for trying to do something right, YOU'D be a little messed up to. But he always does the right thing. Anyway, back to Nickelodeon. They have been trying way to hard to make Avatar humorous and kid friendly. I mean its nice to have a bit of comic relief, but its not some light, happy little kids show like Spongebob. They ought to slap a TV-14 rating on it and move it to later at night so they just don't have to worry about it. I seriously think Avatar should move to Cartoon Network. It's so much less annoying. Anyway, that's the end of my rant for now because my father has to go to bed.

I missed the first ten minutes, too, because I was expecting it at a later time. Then on the website, it said that reruns were at 9 PM on Sundays, but it's Nick at Night. My mom and dad were looking forward to seeing it, too. That's what I love about my family. My older brother (21) and my mom and dad all love Avatar, as well as me and my twin sis. I can't stand those stupid Nick Extra things. I don't know why they even waste time with them. I would rather see another commercial than those things. Did they really write that about my precious Zuko!!!!? They shall die a slow and painful death. If I went through everything he did, I wouldn't be a happy little child, either. He's very mature and honorable for his age. Hmph. Hopefully Cartoon Network will take Avatar soon or up the ratings or something. Avatar has so much more potential.

I don't mind Nick having the show, because it's at least a step toward redemption for them. Because I'm still pissed from when they stopped Rocko's Modern Life. >: P
I see what you mean by being angry about the stuck-up prince thing though. Calling him the evil, selfish prince oversimplifies his character in so many ways it's sad. But, I doubt the execs really watch the shows when it's easier to summarize them on the site and move on to something else. xP From The Storm on, Zuko stopped being a villain to me, and changed to an antagonist. :3
We'll always have Wikipedia, at least. I find that Wikipedia is almost invariably a more accurate source of info than official sites. xD

I'm not sure why I hate the idea of it being commercialized anyway. There would likely be giant Appa plushies. O=
And about the "evil Zuko" thing. At first, I thought it was lame, and they only had Zuko for the sake of having an evil antagonist in the show for no real reason. Once I learned his motivation, I softened up towards his character. =D

Hates Zuko? How can you possibly hate Zuko after all he's been through? It would be like saying "My little brother just got hit by a car and lost a limb, so he's a bit cranky" and then having someone say "Gosh I hate your brother!" Before The Storm I had always liked Zuko anyways just because of the whole bad boy thing. Now I really sypmathize with him and you can understand why the kid's so obsessed. Poor Zuzu.... I just want to give him a hug.

I was so angry when they said that!! It isn't a rip off of anime. Just because it's drawn beautifully in the style of anime doesn't mean it's a rip off. That's what drew me in to Avatar, but what held me was the plot and Zuko of course.^_^

honestly i have no problem with Avatar being on nick
im a huge avatar fan and i like the stupid little comedic stuff it reminds me alot like me my friend will say like one word to me and ill be cranking up for hours Avatar sorta does that to me too (except minus the hours and more like minutes)
i think they called Zuko evil because for most things about shows they go by the first couple of episodes for summaries it cant be like
"Zuko is a boy of the fire tribe who did something that his father the ruler of the fire nation didnt approve of so his father burnt some of his face off then Zuko is forced to leave the fire nation by season two etc etc"
they cant really do that or else theres really no fun in watching him and his character develop
and he still is a little cold hearted *cough* the cave of two lovers *cough*

Cold hearted? Has anyone (besides Iroh of course) ever been anything but cold hearted to him? He looks out for himself, its the only way he's learned to survive. He tried to look out for others by speaking out against the general in the Firelord's war room. And look where THAT got him. I think he's right to be cold hearted. And it's not the right of a little kid's website to judge him for that.

actually yes other people have been nice to him thats why i coughed the cave of two lovers
the girls family saves his uncle from death and treats them to a meal and how does Zuko repay their kindness?
by stealing their horse if that doesnt seem a little cold hearted i dont know what is and like i said they say hes evil because he IS evil in the beginning and thered be no point whatsoever to watch a show that gives out what happens to a character halfway through the 1st season

It still isn't right to say that. You can't brand someone as being "evil" because they are simply against the protagonist. He's never murdered someone, he had never stolen anything before the horse-trich, he just wanted to catch the Avatar. It's like someone hunting a deer. Just because they are driven to catch that deer and will stop at nothing to get it, doesn't make them evil.
