Riku's reaction was swift. At the first crackle and spark of light the audio dropped to one knee and rolled to the left. His right arm extended, hand outstretched. He felt a sudden weight at his palm and pulled his fingers in to grip a hilt that hadn't been there moments before. With a flare of light and dust of sparkles the winged keyblade formed out of thin air. Without a thought, Riku tightened his grip on the weapon and swung it at an upward angle, deflecting the incoming bolt of electricity toward Larxene.
After the diverted attack fired away Riku remained frozen, eyes wide behind his blindfold. He was still positioned on one knee, one hand on the ground and the other above his head, holding the angled keyblade. Where had it come from? The mysterious weapon felt comfortable in his grasp.. like an extension of himself that he'd been carrying all along.

Given her natural agility, Larxene easily dodged the reflected bolt, giving a little giggle as she did so. She was about to launch another attack when she realized the weapon he was now holding had seemingly come out of nowhere. "Welllll now. That's at neat trick." She eyed the blade from a distance. Something about that particular move seemed oddly ... familiar.

Riku's attention had clearly been distracted from Larxene. He frowned, climbing back to his feet, eyes still on the strange weapon. Stranger than the mysterious blade was the fact he'd obviously anticipated using it... not consciously.. but by instinct. Because he'd used it before. His mind grasped at fuzzy memories but only managed to pull back blurred images and words that made no sense.
His covered eyes narrowed as he examined the key end of the blade. "....Sora."

Larxene scrutinized Riku's reaction as he eyed the blade. He clearly hadn't been expecting it to appear; it was new and familiar at the same time. Her eyes narrowed again at the murmured name. Someone's remembering something. The blade, the way it had appeared - the whole situation - unsettled her slightly. "Friend of yours?"

Riku nodded, having temporarily forgotten his feud with the Organization member. "They're the ones I have to find. Sora and Kairi." Right now these were just names. They didn't have faces or memories tied to them, but he knew how important they were.
His fingers tightened around the keyblade's hilt and released. Before the weapon had a chance to fall it dissappeared with the same flash and glimmer of sparkes that had accompanied its appearance. He stared at his vacant palm a moment before flexing his fingers and gripping the empty space again. The keyblade obediently reappeared.
For whatever reason, he seemed content to keep the weapon out and slung it over his shoulder. "I have to keep looking. If you'll excuse me." He turned to resume his trek down the hall.

Larxene pursed her lips as she watched Riku experiment with the blade, trying to figure out what the source of the weapon was. Rather than being terribly concerned about the other's 'hidden advantage', she was actually pleased she'd seen it in action. Won't fall for that one.
She made no motion or sound as he turned to walk off, mentally recording whatever details she could remember about their brief fight, including the names of the two he was apparently searching for. Once he'd more or less disappeared from sight, she huffed a disgruntled sigh and swished off down the hallway herself, bound once again for the library.
