... They had not met Cray yet? Oh dear... this could be rather difficult then. She found it odd that the first appointment had been scheduled with her of all people, it was highly out of character.

Usually after meeting Cray, people understood exactly why they'd need a shrink...

How she hated that term, 'shrink'. Such negative connatations.

"Professor Zee will be meeting with you soon then I would suppose..." she paused, "he will be the doctor in charge of seeing you throughout the pregnancy. Simply put, he monitors for any complications and sees for a healthy child." Well, it wasn't a lie.

"Usually he meets with the families before I do..." she leaned back in her chair, "so I'm mildly shocked that you haven't. But that's alright." she slipped the pen she was holding in behind her ear.

"As for visiting with someone of my profession, part of our clinic's policy is to assure the child, after birth, is not met with any mental barriers or complications on the more emotional aspects. Something a medical doctor can't really assess."

Make sure they don't have unweildly agressions...

"It's just part of this clinic's program. Hopefully, once you've met Cray, things will be explained more in depth." she reached down and opened a desk drawer, pulling out some papers.

"Here." she handed one over to June.

"This is for setting up an appointment with Professor Zee. Whenever you feel ready, you can simply leave it at the receptionist's desk or with me. However I believe it will be best to meet with him soon." she folded her hands together.

"By the way," she tilted her chin up a bit, "if you are uncomfortable with visiting a psychiatrist, I will not enforce that you must. It is by choice of course."

June smiled at Jack's comments, squeezing his hand lightly. "This Professor Zee... he is the... doctor?" This factor made no sense in June's mind. How was a professor a doctor? It didn't fit right. Usually doctors enjoyed showing off the term.

She ran the policy through her thoughts after hearing them, measuring up that this must be a good clinic, considering their policy. "Do, uh.. children often recieve these.. mental barriers?" She thought of Sam, and what an intelligent kid he is. Was that luck?

Taking the paper, she let go of Jack's hand, skimming over it quickly. It seemed like a typical scheduling paper, so she simply folded it up in her hand. Glancing upwards at Jack, she whispered, "I guess this isn't too bad of an idea, is it? You know, to ensure the child's.. mental stability?" June simply couldn't bare the idea of a child who wasn't normal.

Jack peered over at the sheet, skimming it lightly. He gave a slight dip of his head - everything seemed to be in order. He squeezed June's hand in return, wondering to himself about the aforementioned "Professor Zee".

As she whispered to him, he nodded his agreement, though he did not share her desperate need of a child who was 'normal'. In fact, he would've taken pride in a child that was a little bit off, but he never would've told June that. After all, they had a strong relationship, but had differing opinions on a few crucial things. He had learned simply to keep his mouth shut.

"No - actually, I think it's a fine idea." He smiled warmly at June before glancing at Dr. Walts.

Julia smiled, "There's certainly no harm in it no." Thinking for a moment on how to word her next bit of thought, she continued on.

"It's more common than most would believe actually, especially on an emotional level. In a few studies I've done, I've found, quite commonly in teenagers that many of their issues stemmed from things that happened very early on in life." she picked up a pen then, opening a notebook and jotting something down in it quickly.

"Most people don't realize how sensitive an infant or child can be. Oftentimes things get overlooked because of this. We here, at this clinic, simply hope to help through this and want to make sure the baby has a healthy start in life." it wasn't a complete lie. No. In fact, many of the children who passed through the clinic were highly sensitive.

Not for the reasons these people think... her conscious nibbled away at the back of her mind.

"As for Professor Cray, yes. He is the Doctor. He's many degrees in varying aspects of both medicine and science... Hence why he takes the title of Professor instead of Doctor. He feels it covers more of what he's done." she explained calmly, hoping to quell that confused tone in June's voice about Zee.

June simply listened as Dr. Walts spoke, nodding her head at the right moments. It all seemed to make somewhat sense to her... didn't it? It wasn't like she didn't want a healthy and perfect child, and a figure that the child could go to whenever he or she needed help with personal problems couldn't hurt.. could it?

"Well, Dr. Walts, it seems you're qualified enough for our family. I suppose a therapist of your stature couldn't do my family any harm, could it, Honey?" She said, half to Dr. Walts, half to her husband.

In June's mind, she imagined a nice little family outing where they'd run to Dr. Walts' office for a brief period of time (since there would be such little problems to none within their happy family), and then go out to dinner. How perfect would that be?

Of course, then again, not all families go to shrinks regularly, do they? But, if it's for their future child's health and mental stability, she was willing to take that risk.

Jack kept quiet as Dr. Walts spoke, nodding at the appropriate moments. He listened as June spoke and turned his pale gaze upon her as she addressed him.

"I agree - I think it's a wonderful idea." He looked to the doctor and narrowed his eyes thoughtfully before nodding. "Yes, it's a fine idea. After all, we just want our child to be as healthy - physically and mentally - as possible." He shrugged slightly, adding, "And, it seems that this is just the place to assure this."

He leaned back in his chair, folding his arms in silence. Of course, this is fine with me, but what does June really think? She can't be too thrilled about the idea of a shrink... still, as long as she's willing, I am too.

"Well, I'm happy to hear that." Julia nodded and rested her hands on her desk.

"Well, unless there are any other questions. I do believe that's all we need for today. I have your file here, and if you just want to drop off that form at the receptionists desk whenever you get the chance, and an appointment will be scheduled with Professor Zee. From there we'll keep in touch, and if you ever have any questions or concerns," she reached into her pocket, procurring a small, black card, "this is my card, my numbers are on there if you want to get in touch with me." she smiled.

"I'd offer more information, but, unfortunately, Zee should really meet with you so that the ultrasounds and medicals can be completed. If you take any medications, penicillin or blood pressure pills, please be sure to let him know as it's very important."

June sighed a sigh of relief, rather glad the appointment was over. She stood up from her seat and grabbed the card. Quickly, she skimmed over the contents, and stuck it somewhere in her purse. "Well, Dr. Walts, this appointment has been quite informative. I assume we'll be seeing quite a bit of eachother in the future, so, I shouldn't go into too much detail of a goodbye." Smiling, she responded quickly to Dr. Walts' medication comment, "Oh, no, no medication or anything in our family. But anyways, Dr. Walts, it's been a pleasure to meet you." This was not whole-heartedly, considering the circumstances, however, the doctor seemed nice enough, possibly a family friend in the future?

Tidying her shirt, June regained her hand-lock with Jack as he stood up. They both stood in front of Dr. Walts' desk, smiled, and turned around in the direction of the door. Immediately, June frantically began compiling a list of things to mention to Jack. In good time...
