Rolling to his death, that would have been terribly fun. It was probably a good idea that Phib had not put the idea in Kite's mind, or else he might have had to explain it to Amelie.

"I suppose so. It is actualy pretty far, but we started wandering when I was old enough to walk, so very far from here to only a little far from here maybe?" Kite continued his skittering walk, almost distressed when the hill began flattening. However, putting that form of enjoyment out of his mind he yipped once and leapt off what remained of the steeper part of the incline, tearing foreward to the sea joyfully.

He ran, kicking up dirt until it became sand, reaching the shore easily and plunging into the freezing water in an instant, slowing down due to the weight but showing no sign of stopping. From here he would not have heard anyone if they called to him, the sound of the ocean the only thing echoing in his ears as he forced his way through the water. As soon as his feet ceased to touch the earth though he stopped, and turned back to shore, fighting every instinct to just keep swimming until he was tired, and reminding himself that he needed to go say hi to Amelie, because he had promised he would play on the beach with her.

Dragging himself, dripping and heavy, from the water he faced Phib again, and said, rather slowly, "So, which way now?" with a small smile and pitiful tail wag.

Kite was not a smelly wolf by nature. He generaly was swimming and rolling in flowers too often for him to reek. Which was probably a boon to society since he spent so much time bothering others. However, he also had little sense of when he did smell, which was probably unfortuante for Phib.

Not noticing his aparent bothering of the other wolf, Kite shook himself quickly before responding, once again glancing back at the ocean again, considering putting off finding his friend till later, if only for a moment. He quickly disreguarded the idea, mostly because he was getting a little chilly.

"On the beach? Okay then, lead the way," Kite chirped happily, wet tail wagging happily, once again dedicated to the cause.

Kite followed obidiently, looking about at the ocean, and sniffing the air, filled with the slight scent of wolves overpowered by water and salt, the ocean ruling over all that surrounded it, exerting it's will in sound and smell and sight.

When a small wolf apeared in the distance, Kite assumed it to be Amelie, if only because he didn't know how big the pack was. He knew Phib, Cassidy, and Amelie, and the previous two did not fit the look of the distant creature. But Phib did not lead on so Kite half danced in anticipation behind him still, not moving any quicker, rather just more excitedly.

He would have been able to hold in his excitment had Ameilie not noticed them and come running. If her noticing them surprised him in any way, it was not noticable. Most likely he had forgoten she was blind, for the moment anyway. He barked once and ran ahead of Phib, tail wagging. When he was close enough to be heard over the waves he called out a happily.

"Amelie, I came to visit!"

Kite bobbed lightly on his feet, excited to see his friend again.

"Hullo! I was happy to come because it has been so nice and it looks like swimming weather! Are you good? I'm good!"

He grinned widely, tounge lolling out of his mouth as he bounced around, sniffing and half-falling over himself with joy. It was good to see his friend again, especaly when she didn't look like she was hurt like last time.

He looked back at Phib again, smilling at his new friend, "Yep! I'm happy you were the Phib because I wouldn't have been able to get here to quick without you. Can we play now?"

He wagged his tail, looking between Phib and Amelie happily, not noticing the different atmosphere. Dense was a state of mind.

Kite barked once, a salute and affirmation of sorts, then ran into the waves, once again crashing past the first breakers and into the deeper water, the coldness lost in his joy.

He did love swimming. Even when his head went under, toes barely able to grab and the sands, he didn't worry. Once, when he was a pup, he almost drowned. It didn't seem to bother him, then or now. He had ended up laughing and telling his mom that he had been thinking of flying in the water, and of other silliness's. She hadn't known how to respond, so merely told him to be careful. Kite failed to heed her warnings, even now.

He paddled back again, paws grabbing the sand easily, water rushing over his head at waves.

"This is a nice place. It is where you live?" he asked amelie over the sounds of the ocean, playful today, a certain joy in being free of it's icy bonds that winter had placed on it. Birds coasted low over the water, and Kite was happy.
