I use www.titletrader.com You request books and get them for free and people can request for your books. It's worked out for me really well.

Some books I can't rent from the libaray so I buy them, but sometimes I go to the bookstore and read books ramdomly

I rent them, only when it's really really awsome I buy it. But good books are so expensive... sad

I've done the whole borrowing-from-the-library thing. I hate it, because I'm always really hard on my books. I read them while I'm eating lunch, I read them when I'm waiting on line for stuff, I shove them in my backpack and read them when my teachers aren't whatching in school...
Also, I sometimes like to reread books, or reread parts of them. You can only do that with books you own/buy.

I buy... I love my books. It gets expensive sometimes but my friends and family never need to think of christmas or birthday presents... I make a list. I like to have them to read and re-read and to let other people borrow. I love when one of my friends borrow my books and enjoys it.

I mostly go to the library, because though I'd love to be able to buy all the books I read I can't afford to, especially as I read really quickly.
I do occasionaly buy books, I buy most of my graphic novels, I buy books cheap from charity shops, those that I have to have for my course, and if I really love something.

Don't you mean borrow? Renting means to pay for the use--which is pay to read the book.
I borrow several books, like YA/teen. There are others I must buy because they're my favorites.

I buy my books. Usually I go to a second hand book store, so that if I don't like the book as much as I thought, it didn't cost me much anyway. (Though, that have never happened as of yet. I have a whole bookshelf, all the ones I bought I have loved.)
I have a grudge against my library, they accused me of stealing, when really there machine was malfunctioning. Who steals from the library?! O.o Plus, they have no good books to steal anyway. stare

Hehe, my mother used to complain about my book buying, and how it was robbing her of the roof over our heads. I always answered "I would rather live in a box and have my books than live in a house without them." I thought I was amazingly cute. 3nodding I know better now though, and I don't rob my mother either. Hehe, I now pay for my own, but I spend all of my money on books...I have nothing left over after. crying sweatdrop

Mostly I rent them from the library because it's free (yay for free!), but there are a few books I really want to buy if I had money, Rumble Fish by S.E. Hinton, Mark of the Lion Trilogy by Susan Rivers (I think), The Thief and The Queen of Attolia by a lady. I'm unemployed and poor...
blaugh My grandma actually has given me like 20 books over the past year XD which I've only read like 2 or 3 of.
