i only just started watching Saiyuki; that was after i found the fourth Saiyuki book with Hakkai on the cover in the library. i thought he looked cool, so i borrowed it. I've read more of the Saiyuki series since. i have only really watched the first episode (^_^; wink hehe... I'll catch up, but watching on the internet is sort of annoying.

I haven't been watching it for very long, maybe a year? But I really love it. My friend who I now call Saru-chan (guess who her fav character is?) bought to first DVD thinking it looked cool. Saru-chan lent it to me and from there I was obsessed. I'm trying to get my friends at school interested in it (Saru-chan is homeschooled, lucky), but they don't seem as passoinate about it as me. When I told me friend Sparky that Saru-chan and I could not find the 5th DVD of Gensomaden ANYWHERE, she just said, "So what?" eek
So sad... crying crying

Before reading Saiyuki, I had an extreme obsession with Houshin Engi, which, like Saiyuki, is also based on an ancient Chinese novel (Fengshen Yanyi). So I was on the internet reading about ancient Chinese Novels, and found out that "Journey to the West" in Japanese was actually Saiyuki.
And then, I found the manga. The parodies were all really funny coz I had read the novel before, and I got OBSESSED.
This actually happened only four weeks ago. And in the time of two weeks, I had finished the Saiyuki, Saiyuki Reload and Saiyuki Gaiden manga. This is when school started, and my time was limited. In the following two weeks, I began doing fandom-related stuff, and made my way through the Saiyuki and Saiyuki Reload anime. I've watched Requiem and the Burial OVA too.
And so, I am currently watching Saiyuki Reload Gunlock...but can't resist coming on Gaia to rant. rofl
