Raissen stepped out of his black Jetta, with a picnic basket full of food. He'd bought one premade at the store and decided to take it out to eat, settling on a grassy knoll neaby his house. It would be too much for himself, but he would take the rest home. He'd spent too much time inside, lately, and was starting to look pale.

Stretching as he got out of the car, the velvet fabric of his shirt rolled up, exposing his midriff. He quickly pulled it back down as he bent down to grab the picnic basket from the back seat. Someone whistled at him while he was bent over, but Raissen ignored them.

He pulled the basket free and squinted up at the sun, wondering what madness drove him to wear a coat today. He was glad to see his sleeveless black one one draped over the passenger seat and quickly swapped them, dropping the heavier coat in the back seat, closing the door and locking it.

Turning, Raissen began to make his way up the hill, smiling out at the view. The grass crunched deliciously under his tall dark boots, laced to the knee with a dangerous steel toed tip. Someone else pointed at him, in his don't-give-a-s**t-about-formality rave clothes, but he ignored them too. Before long, a familiar pink and green head appeared on the apex of the hill like a fluffy flower, and Rai veered off his original course beelining for the person who owned said hair. He had wanted to speak with Ptah, and this was the perfect oppourtunity! Raissen climbed the hill with silent steps as he approached Ptah, finally coming to a stop standing over him, and blocking out the sun on his face. He smiled down at his friend.

Laertes muttered to himself as he dragged himself towards the house. Infi's bought him a cheap little car, a Camry, because he was tired of walking everywhere. And what happened?

The first time he drove it anywhere, it broke down. BROKE DOWN. TIME ONE!

Laertes was vexed. he'd be having himself a wee chat with the parts people. As soon as he got home and out of this outfit. A little black leather above-the-knee skirt, and a red silk top, with a pair of knee-high black boots with three inch stiletto heels. He looked classy, yeah, but really!

He was stumbling along, rather grumpy, when he saw a familiar red head and perked up. He was saved! Maybe. He stopped when he saw Ptah's head too. Ooooh. He didn't know the other male that well, but was hesitant to interrupt. He'd give them a little while, then wander over and say hello- beg use of their phones, if they had one.

Yes, had he mentioned that his cell phone had died too?

Almost immediately after blocking his sunlight, Ptah's pink eyebrows crinkled in distaste. The seconds ticked by as slowly bleary eyes blinked open, to discover the source of this anomaly, focusing first on his shoes, running up the legnth of a dark nylon covered thigh, to the shorts that barely held him in, and finally frantically up to his face.

Raissen dropped his basket onto the soft grass as Ptah jumped up and pulled him into a welcome embrace. The two young men tangled arms with one another, Raissen burying his face into Ptah's neck as they held one another for a brief moment.

Ptah was as enthusiastic as he had hoped.
"Hello Ptah! I was just taking my day off, and I bought this picnic basket at the store, you know, thought I'd eat outside today. Wouldja like to join me?" Raissen asked, bending down to pick up his basket and hold it demurely in two hands. He looked up at Ptah with a 'Pretty pretty please?' expression in his large blue eyes.
"I'd love to hear what you've been up to-- I haven't seen you in forever! I mean, if you aren't too busy, or anything."

Raissen shifted his weight onto one foot, smiling up at Ptah. He hadn't noticed Laertes yet, he hadn't seen the teen since dinner at Infi's house, and boy-- what an evening that was. He really had wanted to talk to Ptah, about the status of their relationship, but looking up at him now, cast all aglow by the warm afternoon sun, all thoughts of seriousness went flying out of his head. Ptah was dizzyingly beautiful, with such exotic features. So tall, and slender, and trim from his dancing...
Oh dear, he was staring again.

Laertes watched them hug for a moment, a wry smile crossing his face. Well, he'd known where he stood in Rai's heart after the fiasco before dinner... And it wasn't in the front. But it was alright. He tugged his long tresses from the braid they were in, letting them fall around his face in blue waves. His hair was almost curly, as he'd braided it wet, and it had been up for hours.

He moved across the grass quietly, dancer's grace making him almost soundless, amusing himself by watching the heels of his stilettos dig into the grass, making small imprints. As he got closer, he gave a quiet cough, hoping to attract their attention. He hated to interrupt, so he'd just use their cell phone (if he was lucky enough they had one), and make his... escape?

That's what it would probably end up being.

Raissen followed Ptah's gaze to light up at the sight of Laertes. Fate must have been conspiring in their favor. The puppy eyes were gone, but replaced with a warm smile as Ptah beckoned Laertes closer. Sure! The picnic had enough for several people, and Raissen didn't mind sharing. He held it up and rocked it temptingly with a small laugh. No one could resist the lunch rays the basket sent out. As he let it hang beside him, Raissen squinted up at the sky, using his other hand to shade his eyes.

"It's too hot to eat in the sun, can we move over to that tree over there? I don't want anything to spoil." Raissen said, knowing that he had placed cooling packs in there earlier.

"It's fine." He nodded to Ptah, waiting for Laertes to join them before leading them further up the hill to a large maple tree, that cast the ground around them in dappled shadows, it was nice and cool underneath, with a fantastic view. He wondered why no one else had staked claim of the tree.
Raissen curled up on the ground, setting the basket before him and patting the grass nearby.

"So. What brings you today, Laertes?" He asked, smiling up at the teenager with fondness. It was then he noticed the teen's hair was lightly curled, settling in blue waves over his shoulders, glittering in the light. Instantly his mind was brought back to a thought he had asked himself earlier, which was whether or not Laertes' hair curled in the shower. Fortuntely, no blush arose, and he patiently waited for an answer.

Laertes gave a shy smile and stepped over to the other two. "I'm not really hungry," he said with a small smile. "But I can join you for a while." He followed Raissen, taking a seat under the tree, legs curled up and slightly to one side. "I was actually walking home." he admitted, gaze flitting over the two males. He was loving Ptah's boots, though Raissen's shorts were torture, and it took all his willpower not to stare like an idiot at them both.

"I actually got my own car recently." he said with a smile, eyeing the picnic basket warily. Whatever would be inside? "But it broke down, probably about a mile back. And my cell is dead." The smile turned wry, and a bit sheepish. "So I was walking, and saw you, and was wondering if you may have a cell I could use to call and see if someone could come pick me up. The boots are horrible for walking in." he nodded down at the boots, frowning at them.

And, if he'd read minds, he would have been able to inform Raissen that his hair was disgustingly straight at all times, unless he was lucky, then he got a bit of wave.

"I've got a cell." Raissen said, unhooking it from the outside pocket on his coat. He flipped it open, and squinted at the screen.
"Huh." Rai pressed and held the power button, but the screen remained black. "I must have forgotten to charge it, the battery is dead, sorry."

He folded the phone and stuck it back in his pocket. Turning his attention to the basket, Raissen began to pull out premade sandwiches, club sandwiches, tuna sandwiches, plain turkey and cheese on white, and a PB&J. Also from the basket was withdrawn a small container of potato salad, and one perfect cheesecake. Plastic platters, cups and silverware emerged afterward.

"Uh, take your pick, I guess, I stuck some cranberry apple juice and water in here to drink."

Raissen grinned at Ptah. He was looking a little rosy, which wasn't suprising, considering he was just actively baking himself in the sun a few moments ago. Raissen was just glad he stepped in before Ptah started to really fry. While he personally didn't know the horrors of sunburn, he knew from vivid discription. Also, his patients tended to shriek on the table. Tourists on spa never seemed to realize until too late that massages on a sunburned back DO NOT help. He chuckled quietly at the memory.

"Sucks about your car, Lae. I hope it's not too expensive to get it fixed. I swear Mechanics implant a tiny time bomb somewhere on your car, so after a few months, Boom! Something else expensive mysteriously completely disentigrates." He said, leaning back on his hands for a moment to look up at the foliage above them. God, this place was gorgeous.

He didn't offer Laertes a ride, since Ptah also had.

Laertes had looked hopeful as Raissen started to turn on his cell, only to have his face fall when it wouldn't turn on. Oh, ********. He perked up again at the food, and his stomach rumbling reminded him he'd skipped breakfast because he ran out the door late, and lunch because he'd left his money on his bed. "I'll have apple juice, if you don't mind."

Apple juice, and PB&J. Could you get anymore... kiddish? That's what you get from babysitting Kael- PB&J is a well-rounded meal. Fruits, and vegetables. Well, if peanuts were a vegetable.

Crout swore up and down they were.

"I think I'll take that ride, if you don't mind." Laertes said, with a smile at the pink-cheeked (and pink haired) bishounen. He couldn't hold back a giggle, looking at the light burn. Any redder, and he'd be clashing shades of pink and red.
