Laluna_Wulf Preventer Void I'm sorry; I didn't mean to squash discussion. But you DID ask for speculation about the relationship between Midii and Lady, which is what I offered. Besides, when has official information stopped speculation? Zechs all but screams "I love Noin", but people still make him out to be gay. Anything can be made gay as long as it's workable. That! Is sad but true. I've seen my cousin make the straightest character gay.

NowhereManXP Hm. Middie Une? Well, I'd call the name coincidence, but not much more than that. I think that Preventer Void did a good job of explaining it. It's interesting to note that while the English-language translation put out by Viz contains notes on many elements of this vignette, any connection Middie Une and Lady Une isn't even touched upon... 3nodding I may be coming in late to a finished discussion but there is a definite hint in the end notes of Episode Zero that there may be a relationship between Midii and Lady Une....look for yourself! The notes say their relationship is a mystery, not that it doesn't exist. I interpret this to mean there is something there, with all the names in the world why muddle things by using the same one for two unrelated characters? It's just a theory but I feel it's not without basis 3nodding

However, even there it is noted that whatever relationship she may have to Lady Une will forever remain a mystery.

Preventer Void Oreasa Yeah, that's what it was supposed to do. Give the viewers a better understanding for the characters and plot. It's how they got the characters' backgrounds in when the person in charge of their backstories got fired or something to that nature. I'm not sure it's been a while since I've read that page. I'm not sure if this has been brought up before, probably has, but anybody have any speculations as to whether Midii Une is related to the Colonel? I think it was said there's no relationship whatsoever. They're obviously not the same person (Midii is younger, blonde, and has a completely different personality), and not related (Midii only mentions a father and brothers; Lady is never shown to have family). Well, I can't agree with you here Void, though usually I bow to your awesome breadth of Gundam Wing knowledge biggrin Where is it "said" that there is no relationship whatsoever?? Also do you have the same hair color and personalities as all of your aunts, siblings and cousins??? And although I portray Midii as blonde in my fanfiction, hair color can not be reliably deciphered from a black and white manga, darker hair can sometimes be portrayed as white I've noticed. IMHO the endnotes I posted last night from the last volume of Episode Zero seems to insinuate there is a relationship but that relationship is never developed or explained in the series. I strongly believe however that they are NOT the same character.

Personally, and I know somebody will probably smack me for this, but I didn't like the Trowa section in Episode Zero. That may be because I've heard too many comments about that section.
I did however really like Wufei's section because it is finally easier to understand why Wufei acts the way he does.
I also like Duo's for the same reason. I know people who don't even know why he has his hair braided and it makes me mad because they call themselves Gundam Wing fans! scream

It's interesting though that considering all the Relena fans around here there is not much discussion of her volume! It's definitely the least mentioned of all of them!

There's not a whole lot to discuss about Relena's story, really. It's pretty straightforward.
Though we DO get to smack Zechs for handing her that "star prince" crud. razz

I loved it. It was reall, really good. I thought the stories were really touching.
One of my favorite parts was when Duo said "I've never seen any miracles, but I've sure seen a whole bunch of dead people!"
I cracked up at that. whee

Colonel Lady Une Quatre- ... I didn't like this much since Quatre was being a spoiled brat. Actually, his attitude is reminiscent of Dorothy's. I guess that's why he told her "I used to be like you." in Ep 48 during the fencing match. He seems so OOC to me here but I guess his kindness developed later. Out of character or not... it makes total sense considering Quatre's feelings towards himself. He truly feels worthless because he's convinced his father can make another 'clone'. We see Quatre's development in this one... why he's so close the Maguanacs... why he's so 'kind'... People showed him kindness in a difficult period in his life. They teach him that it's okay to be who he is and that he should be proud of himself no matter how he came to be. Quatre realizes his mistake and realizes his selfishness, and he goes back home instead of running away to Earth. It's that moment when he finds the traitor and pilots Rashid's mobile suit in battle that Quatre changes into the character we see in the show. That's why I love his Ep0 so much. And, yes... it would explain his comment of, "I used to be like you," to Dorothy.
