Personally, I'm alright with abortion being legal. For a multitude of reasons, not the least of which have anything to do with the fact that many of these abortions are being done for families that cannot support the babies, there by creating an economic strain that cannot even maintain the people that are currently in the system. Abortion is an option in the minds of those who aren't very well informed about the adoption program. Yes, there are many families that can't have babies that would adopt in a heart beat, but sadly MANY of these families don't qualify. Having grown up in a group home myself, I can honestly say this is not a nurturing environment. And it creates even more economic burden.

Also, there are incidents where aborting is the only way to save the mother's life. And in some cases the mother may have a terminal disease which will most definately be passed to the baby....which would be the same as sentencing the baby to a slow and agonizing death. Is that humane?

And finally the issue of rape. We live in a country where many thousand rapes happen every year. Many of these rapes, result in pregnancy...is it humane to force the woman through nine more months of agony and a hard decision to make, after already suffering so much pain and loss?

Is abortion murder? We could argue back and forth using ideology and scientific evidence for or against. But what it comes down to is the question of what defines life. Is it an arm? A leg? A heart? A brain? I think our laws are trying to take steps in protecting life by time period restrictions that define life through development. Which protects our morality issues, while protecting our economic and health issues at the same time.

If you find it distasteful, I support that. But when it comes to everyone elses life, it becomes there decisions...not ours.

Abortion is stupid. If a Christian does an abortion, she is breaking a commandment because she is killing the baby.

In your opinion, but at the same time if you condemn someone for haivng an aboriton, then you too are sinning. And are no better than they are.

That's true, we should not condemn people for having an abortion, all we can do is share our opinion and leave the rest up to God.

I know that there's tons of abortions going on everyday, and it's always in my church prayer list, but I don't think I've ever actually heard anyone pray for God to stop abortion. This is a major issue! We need to pray every day, and do what we can to show we are pro-life.

These two websites Bound4Life and American Life League's National Pro-Life T-Shirt Day and great sites with info about abortion, what's going on (mainly U.S. but I'm sure the rest of y'all would find it interesting as well) in the fight for LIFE! The first has wristbands (like to LiveStrong bands) that you can order, and the second one is about Pro-Life T-Shrit day. You can get the shirt for only $5, and on April 26, people all over are going to be wearing them.

Please tell me what y'all think about this, because I know it's a very big, important issue, but I don't hear much about it.

i agree! i have a t-shirt, i got one last year and i wear it many times not just on the national day.

I guess I will put my input into it.

"you whom I have upheld since you were concieved, and have carried scince your birth." Isaiah 46:5

God obvioulsy views a fetus as a living human being the moment this child is concieved. Therefore killing a human being would be murder. The child would go to heaven.

As far as rape, if I were, I would absolutly not get an abortion. I for one would not want to kill my own child. Even if his/her father was a crazy lunatic. (that dosnt mean my child will be raised to be the same way) Who knows maybe my child would be a preacher or missionary or something? God has a plan for everyone. I would love him/her, that means something.

I noticed the quote earlier about how if a woman had a fatal disease or something under those lines that they have to perform an abortion, otherwise it would kill the mother, and possably the child. Im ok with that actually, with other ppl. But, If it were to ever happen to me, I would be devistated. I would not want to kill my child. If it were possible for the child to live but i would die.....I would at least save my childs life.
