Great series. I love it soo much. I hated the ending if you could call it one. I recommend it though.

It is about a girl named Heaven Kogo who when was young was the lone survivor of a deadly plane crash that killed her parents. She got adopted by a rich crime family, the Yakuza to be exact. She feels trapped so she escapes from Japan to America where she meets up with a guy named Hiro. Hiro trains her in the art of the samurai. Through the entire series they evade the Yakuza and of course develop a relationship. But what is a relationship with out another person to get jealous and cause conflict? Well to find out you should go read it. My summary is really cruddy though.

6 books. Fairly short books and they have like hand drawn pictures too. Yeah I know weird for a teen book to have pictures.

I think you mean the Way of the Samurai, it isn't an art form (I'm an Asian history buff, pardon my pickiness). It sounds interesting, I like a lot of teen series, probably because it appeals more to my childish ego which I enjoy more than my adult ego. It's a little surprising to hear of a samurai master being outside Japan, and it's halariously ironic because for those of you who have studied East Asian History, you'll know that the Yakuza belive they are the direct descendants of the powerful samurai bloodline and have enough wealth and stature and fear within Japan's community to be looked on as how you would treat a samurai barely 100 years ago.
I think I need to write up a book list, gonna be doing a lot of reading this summer, haha.
