Context - Within an Anti inflation guild we had an inflationist come in to contribute. I will change names so that it can not be construed as flaming. Merely to report what happened within the guild I am in so any one can reflect upon it and see what is being done.

Please stop pretending that you are a Catholic in order to justify malice and spite. It's shameful to both yourself and to Catholics. It also borders on breaking the TOS.Well, actually I am also in the works of doing that. That is my step 10, which I can't do unless I have all these things going on that I can cite. The problem is, I am not asking for a specific change in the system because there is no true way to make it fair.
Actually the point I just mentioned is also some of the reason I can figure out mules if I really wanted to. I just do not like bothering people and calling in favors, which is why I don't do it any more.
The other part I have against your concept is "who" would judge by meritocracy. I have nothing against you as a person but I fear it is hubris to presume that one person can judge the merits of a person in the manner you say. What would be the method and perhaps point system? If it is going by popularity and the feel of things it opens a whole new can of worms.
Mine is merely by puzzles and I know already that the ones I create are warped. Because I create the puzzles even indirectly the ones that might actually figure it out are people that can think in the same way I do. I have to consider that there are individuals that have other merits. Why do I still do it? For fun of course and the other side that it allows people to expand beyond just what they are thinking.
--There are also other ways gold enters the system. Random events from pink links, boxes and such can still be sold in stores. There are still items out there worth less than the sell-back in stores. Also as much as I hate to admit it, gift credits now to buy items and sell it back to the store is another(idiotic but who knows).
--There is also no one that amassed 5 mil in the first two months back then because items were just not worth as much. Adjust it to the rate of inflation and I do know others that have done better than you. Trading is you are right the only way to truly amass wealth here quickly.
--So what is this meritocracy system you propose? I can merely do what I can in the confines of the system. Suggest what you wish to the admins if you want and have an honest debate in that. I fear you are trying to justify your method to the end which might just not be feasible and create more harm than good in the end.
--As for your other complaint on still shoving religion on your face. I think that was an initial reaction to declaring that I did not reprimand him in the same degree. I may be mistaken.

DS - One must understand that at times when a person amasses that much in a few months most individuals think that it is due to an older account trying to pass off as new. If you are able to do such a thing like that, that is impressive. Would I have considered what was done in keeping to my personal code, most probably not.

As mentioned, I am not your usual anti-inflator. Anti-inflation is just one more thing I have to do to promote a certain civility in gaia. I mean, it is rough not to be able to relax and just let go, since there will always be in the back of one's head that the one you are helping or giving a deal to is just going to screw you. Interchanges, discussion and slowing people down from the grind of going after things would be my goal.
I know it is more often than not doomed. However, I get to meet certain individuals that I can then get to trust.
Guess what, my current little program is already a success in my estimation. I have a lot less people begging in my thread. Now do not kill my wishfull thinking right now but I think people are actually reading before posting now, at least in my thread. I have not had any one sending me trades without permission. Nor have I had PMs asking me for a hand-out((Granted this one might be because PMs are down, but I am happy about it)).
Back then I'd get so many crazy offers for selling a sealed letter for cheap. They do not bother reading the rules. It gets insulting for them to think I am doing it for the gold.
I imagine a gaia where every single newbling actually reads the stickies and announcements and actually understand it.

Ok, for one; please stop with the personal assaults, that's a pathetic display of cowardice and is COMPLETELY agaisnt THIS boards terms of use. Second, what I'm doing is EXACTLY what the Catholic Church would promote simply because it attacks an economy based on greed and seniority; i.e. the longer you've been here the better things you have available to you if you were active at ALL when you first came on. Our interpretations of the same parables and supposed histories of it will of course differ. I may just permit some debates on it here however such a topic is way too volatile as Religion tends to take away from common sense. No offense meant but it does.
Criticizing one another would become counter-productive as we intend to move rather than hurl insults against one another. That though our goals are different, negativity such as this would not help either cause. We work on the constraints placed upon us by the system, I know I try to blur the line. We can look at this two way. The economic side, and religious side.
The Economic side.
To cause inflation is bad thing, no matter which way you look at it. Don't get me wrong natural inflation is fine, and is needed for a healthy economy. Artificial inflation is another thing all together. What people don't understand, or fail to realize is the long term effects of artificial inflation. Let me explain what I mean. We have a set amount of expensive items that are being sold. (By expensive I mean generally the 03 donation items.) Now as these items go up and up in value, they starting to get out of the reach of normal Gaian users. Now the older users can buy these items, but as we know the older Gaians are now leaving the site due to several reasons which I am not going to into. So the higher priced items aren't as available as they were before, making them even higher in value So now we have less items, but much much higher prices because of artificial inflation. Now remember the regular Gaian users, guess what happens to them. They start to leave because they can not attain the higher items, because they are much to far out of reach for them. So what does that mean to everybody else....less buyers, less gold, and less items. So know we have a few people running around with huge items they can't sell, because they have no buyers. We have a lot of other Gaian users with almost nothing because it is too expensive..........and no middle class. Do you know what that is called...........Economic Depression.
How many times have you heard somebody say they can't sell an item because it is too big, and they have no decent offers, or decent buyers?

I am moving towards a movement to create a gaian society NOT based on material gain and the rampant posts of complete and utter spam; I want to create a society that thrives off of the enjoyment of gaia, not the labor found in gaining gold.

AGAIN, you've misunderstood both me AND yourself. I am not declaring holy war on you, I'm not challenging your faith in God, I am not trying to "shove religion in your face." YOU have brought up religion on many occasions, namely Catholicism. You also mentioned on numerous accounts that you donate to Catholics, done in such a way that you were clearly inferring donating to Catholics is good.
FINE. But what you fail to realize is that your motive, which is most clearly defined in this quotation of yourself, is about destroying free trade and replacing it with Anarchism. Anarchism is NOT Catholicism, something which you are using synonymously. Added to that, you preach that the ends justify the means, and that you take pleasure in maliciously (and "maliciously" was your own word) attacking items, the system, and people. Malice, spite, and anarchism are not the teachings of Catholicism. You are correct that normal inflation does that too. But normal inflation is SLOW, and in small increments. It took 2 years for the devil tail to reach 1 million gold. In those two years people weren't obsessed like you think they are now. Then in one year alone, when artificial inflation began to rear it's ugly head, the price DOUBLED. Since then, the new price has TRIPLED. This is NOT normal inflation! We AGREE with you that the exchange is becoming a hell hole, but that's due to ARTIFICIAL inflation, which is EXACTLY what you do.
Your promise is an exceptionally empty one. Do you truly not see that you're only mimicking what other AIers do? They manipulate the exchange in order to hoard things and make things difficult for others to buy without spending more gold than they want to. You are correct that normal inflation does that too. But normal inflation is SLOW, and in small increments. It took 2 years for the devil tail to reach 1 million gold. In those two years people weren't obsessed like you think they are now. Then in one year alone, when artificial inflation began to rear it's ugly head, the price DOUBLED. Since then, the new price has TRIPLED. This is NOT normal inflation! We AGREE with you that the exchange is becoming a hell hole, but that's due to ARTIFICIAL inflation, which is EXACTLY what you do.

DS - My post was in three parts. The first part of which is to both of you. It is not meant as a reprimand which is why I mentioned "Criticizing one another would become counter-productive as we intend to move rather than hurl insults against one another. That though our goals are different, negativity such as this would not help either cause."
Second part was to you pretty much just re-telling what I have been saying to begin with. Although I did ask "I do actually want to know how you justify such a thing. I did not mean that it was the only means of making gold, but rather the only way for gold to enter the system.
i.e. everyone had to start at 0 (virtually) when Gaia began, therefore if someone even Attempted to sell a devil tail for 2 million gold, no one HAD that kind of Gold; the money in the entire community would be equivalvent of someone tryign to buy something for 200 Million Gold now. Actually the point I just mentioned is also some of the reason I can figure out mules if I really wanted to. I just do not like bothering people and calling in favors, which is why I don't do it any more.
The other part I have against your concept is "who" would judge by meritocracy. I have nothing against you as a person but I fear it is hubris to presume that one person can judge the merits of a person in the manner you say. What would be the method and perhaps point system? If it is going by popularity and the feel of things it opens a whole new can of worms.
Mine is merely by puzzles and I know already that the ones I create are warped. Because I create the puzzles even indirectly the ones that might actually figure it out are people that can think in the same way I do. I have to consider that there are individuals that have other merits. Why do I still do it? For fun of course and the other side that it allows people to expand beyond just what they are thinking.
--There are also other ways gold enters the system. Random events from pink links, boxes and such can still be sold in stores. There are still items out there worth less than the sell-back in stores. Also as much as I hate to admit it, gift credits now to buy items and sell it back to the store is another(idiotic but who knows).
--There is also no one that amassed 5 mil in the first two months back then because items were just not worth as much. Adjust it to the rate of inflation and I do know others that have done better than you. Trading is you are right the only way to truly amass wealth here quickly.
--So what is this meritocracy system you propose? I can merely do what I can in the confines of the system. Suggest what you wish to the admins if you want and have an honest debate in that. I fear you are trying to justify your method to the end which might just not be feasible and create more harm than good in the end.
