The lands had arched and fallen with each rise and set, the shadows shifting the images to trick the eyes of the onlookers. It had been like that since Ta'Ziyan had first wandered the lands. Every day he would look outside as the sun rised, remembering just how lucky he was to have found Kamilika and the lands he now resided upon. Luck had nothing to do with it though. It was almost fate.
And now, the fates had thrown a curveball, and Kamilika was gone, gone from him. The days had turned dark, the winds turned cold, and he was alone once more in the beautiful lands that had become a nightmare. The adult lion felt like a lost cub once more, the shadows building around his throat as well as his home. It was hard to breath, hard to live, everything was coming back to him and causing his heart to hammer a mile a minute.
It was than he ran, ran away from the home and towards the southlands, the shadows and eyes building up as he pushed past the faces of thoes he had never seen. Falling to the ground and the grasses, he felt his breath hitch as everything caught up to him. He could almost cry, the tears were so heavy, and all he could do was cover his eyes and let out a childish whine.
