Cats!

Okay, I've currently got four of them. They are all a little bit bad, but I still adore them.

Pixie is the youngster of the lot, being about 4 years old. We found her trying to cross the highway in traffic when she was but a teeny kit. She's sweet, but she does have a temper and growls when she's angry. When she was little, she played without retracting her claws, making the older cats despise her. So her only 4-legged friend is the dog. She knocks my things over and loses them.

Dustbunny is the last of a litter of kittens we were once visited with by a stray cat. He's got long orange hair, and he's friendly enough on his own terms. He loves to be petted, but doesn't want to be picked up and will not get on our bed. He's about 11 years old. He knocks my things over and loses them.

Koko is my siamese, about 15 years old. He's a jewel among cats; a sweetheart who is friendly, affectionate, and insists on being loved, petted and cuddled. And he knocks my things over and loses them.

Nermal is my grand old lady, She is a venerable 17, and in her youth was a clever and mighty huntress who brought us home more live things than dead ones. She would vanish into the woods, where she was perfectly camoflagued, and play in an abandoned shack (which all of my cats eventually discovered) and once came home with a fishhook through her nose. It is really too bad she couldn't give us an explanation, but I suspect it came from the shack. She is a gentle lady, always affectionate and friendly. She used to knock my thinks over and lose them, but I'm sorry to say she has an advanced, inoperable cancer that is slowly taking all the life from her, and it is heartbreaking to watch her slowly get worse.

Are cats evil? They are bad, and there are times when you think they have an evil streak, but they are also good and loving animals, and I wouldn't trade any of my four for anything.

Dogs!

I have a particularly evil little red dachshund named Ludwig - 13 years old. He thinks he can fly. Seriously. He thinks the cats are his sons and daughters, especially since he was there to help raise Dustbunny and his siblings. he barks at our yard man. He wants desperately to get his hands on my birds, and he is above no scheme to get what he wants. He hates taking his heart medicine (he's old). He is also my love and joy, and he sleeps at our feet, under the covers, every night, and refuses to let us leave the house without him.

Birds!

Cockatiels (I have 2 - Cloud and Pudge) are never evil. They are sweet. The worst they ever do is chew something you don't want them to.

Lovebirds are another story. They are evil incarnate. I have three pairs--Tiki and Tahiti, Sunny and Begniat, and Holly and Ivy (who are brothers).
Lovebirds are almost be definition evil. They are hyper little birds who fly around, land all over me, balance on my glasses and yank my earrings. If they can't get 'em out, they don't give up, they just yank harder. Lovebirds are territorial, but love to annoy each other by invading each other's cages (they live in pairs). Lovebirds bite and bite hard, because they have bad tempers. Including the 'friendly" ones who like you. They tease my poor cockatiels, who are twice their size, and half as smart, because cockatiels are too dumb and trusting to fight back. Lovebirds chew up my things and make a mess. But hey...I still like 'em, and i like 'em a lot. They make up for their mischief when they sit on my shoulders and snuggle under my chin.
Then they bite!
