Alrighty, as for the book part, yes, I do believe that Christine never really loved Erik. She was just too damn scared of him, and he WAS really creppy adn violent in the book. HOWEVER! The movie in my opinion was quite different. Erik was much more gentle and romantic, and Christine believe it or not probably loved him in ways she could never love Roul. It's just that Roul was a more free and happier person.
So for the book I think it was best for her to go with Roul, but I think she could have pulled it off in the movie, not the best way, but she could have done it..I mean after Erik singing the whole "anywhere you go let me go too" thing..It would be pretty hard to say no to that sweatdrop
The reason I dont prefer her and Roul is because Roul just seems like such a generic person..Erik is so 3-dimentional to me and has such character...but Roul its like..meh, handsome prince, charming, boring. stare So yeah it all depends on what version and what your talking about.

Yes, in the 2004 movie I could maybe see something working for Erik and Christine. As either Joel or Andrew (I forget which one aid it...prob Andrew) Christine has a romantic attraction to Raoul and a sexual attraction to Erik.
Book wise, it would have NEVER worked. Plain and simple.
