Why People Should Go Veg!
By The Hoodlumish Panda, Credit for some information to random internet sites.

Chickens
Yes, chickens. We all know what they are. Those adorable little chickens that we see on farms all the time. We also see them in other places, more common actually. In supermarkets, in McDonalds, Burger King - everywhere. But not in their alive form. Oh no, we see them in nuggets, sandwhiches, or going well with a side of peas.
Sure, you might say, "But they're delicious!" Alright. Sure. But would you continue eating them if I told you that 9 billion chickens raised in factory farms each year in the US never get to do anything that is natural to them? By that I mean that the chickens are confined into nasty, filthy sheds that are shared with tens of thousands of other birds. This crowding often leads to outbreaks of disease.
Often times, this crowding and confinement means that the chickens organs can't keep up with them! This leads to heart attacks, organ failure, and crippling, and death. At 6 or 7 weeks old, they are crammed into different cages and sent to the slaughter house for you to eat.
6 or 7 weeks to live? Why that's horrible! Yep. And those 6-7 weeks are spent in crammed cages with horrible living conditions that often include starvation. Want to eat chicken now?

Cows

The gentle giants of the world. Most often seen in hamburgers. A shame, isn't it? Yeah yeah. Again, "delicious" right? You thought we were done with the torture of animals, didn't you? Well we're not. Cows go through it to.
In the U.S., more than 41 million of these sensitive animals suffer and die for the meat and dairy industries every year. When they are little baby cows, they are branded, their testicles are torn from their scrotum, and their horns are cut or burned off. This process isn't even done with pain killers.
When they are big enough, they are sent to massive, muddy lots to be fattened up. They will be repeatedly impregnated, and then seperated from their own calves. Once their bodies give out, they are sent to die, often traveling miles and miles through all kinds of weather.
You'd think after all that they would kill the cows in the most humane way possible. You'd think wrong. Many cows die on the way there, but the ones that don't are shot in the head with a bolt gun, hung up by their legs, and taken onto the killing floor, where their throats are cut and they are skinned. Many cows remain conscious through the entire process. Want to eat cow now?

(I will add more in a bit. ^_^)

If you want people to really listen to you, you should probably list citations of where you got some of this information from.
