I have a choir festival in, I think, a week or so, and I'm coming down with larengitis! That basically means... no voice Dx My teacher is going to eat my soul if I can't sing in that festival... especially if I *somehow* made that solo part >.< (which I doubt, but we can always dream)
So... yeah. Any ideas on how to get my voice back? (Chicken soup's not working >.<;; )

I know how you feel. I cannot sing for my life at the moment and we have a festival in a little over a week. I hope you get better because no one likes having their soul eatened.
One thing I did find odd that helps is drinking hot orange juice. Yeah I know it sounds weird but it works >.>

euuu, hot orange juice? I can hardly stand it warm! o_o;; :runs off to try it:.
Edit: Apparantly it's not larengitis, it's strep throat! :dies:.

Drink a mix of hot water, honey, and lemon juice, Always works for me. That and take a day off from school and sleep and rest, take plenty of Vitamin C, to stop where you're getting before it gets worse. Hope you feel better

Thanks alot, guys... I gave in and went to the doctor and found out that it's a throat infection (great) and he's got my hyped up on Meds that take forever to work Dx
One thing that releived me, is I thught that the festival was this week, but it's next week. Phwew, I SHOULD be better, but still... this is taking away from valuable practice time! I felt so bad sitting out of choir class, mostly because we're working on a new song and I can't participate and learn it 'till I get better >.O;;

Well, I had choral class today... not bad. My voice cracked in a cresendso, and completely jerked out of the tone, though. My friend was looking at me all funny o_o;; and she laughed at me afterwards. I also couldn't hit my high parts well at all, it was killing me... but I can't sit out, I need to practice!!

You probably have some sort of vocal strain. My advice: DON'T SING. Or atleast try not to. I came down with a cold resulting from a vocal strain right before our choir's concert and it stunk....
